The Gisborne Collective
Never disappoints! Eaten here a few times & food is always consistently good. Pizzas & steaks are a must try.
Service erratic, offered water at the end of our meal after we had ordered coffee.
Cold coffee with no flavour, more like a glass of partly frothy milk.
Meal was perfect as always. Well priced, good sized meals that taste delicious. Highly recommend!
First ever visit and not disappointed. Great spot to take friends to enjoy a very healthy breakfast spread catering for special dietary needs. The ambiance was peaceful so we could catch up without noise competing with our voices. Loved the enormous pizza oven...we look forward to returning to experience this next time.
Food was fantastic service was fantastic. Love the duck spring rolls
The food was amazing, I had the fried chicken burger. The staff were also very helpful. Will definitely be back in the near future.
Never fails to disappoint. Great food, atmosphere & service. Love it!
I Love a good feed at this place and the staff are great too
When it takes 80mins for the entree to arrive then the main 10 mins later, ordered at 7.20pm meals started arriving at just before 9pm
Fantastic experience dining at The Gisborne Collective. The staff were fantastic, service was outstanding with staff going out of their way to make sure we had a great night out.
The staff are amazing and very polite. Fantastic food!
We had a family lunch (ten of us) - and all I can say is - the food was really REALLY good! Impressive presentation and delicious! We thought it might be a little expensive for what it was - however when it came out - the quality was exceptional. We will definitely be back for more!
Could not fault the service or food. we had the fried chicken it was delicious. would definitely be going back again.
Nice atmospheres a little loud but food was so yum. We had burgers and pizza. Pizza base little thick but still nice
I booked a table for six and requested a quiet area. There was no table fir six reserved and we were placed in a noisy area.
The lamb pizza was very dry. Suggest drizzling a garlic sauce on top.
The Collective is our local and we go there regularly. It was just a little disappointing
A little expensive but food very nice.... staff and service good... pub like atmosphere.
Granted it was Father’s Day and we did have to wait for almost 1 hour for food but when is arrived it was all cold.
Great food and drinks awesome service had a wonderful time
This was the first time that l had been at this restaurant and l absolutely recommend it. The meal was delicious , the service was friendly as soon as you walk through the door. Did not have to wait long for meals, very professional and the beer was ice cold. I rate this restaurant 5 stars. You will not be disappointed.
Where so many think they know (& actually don't) these guys get Hospitality, Fast Efficient, Great Vibe, Great Menu & Fantastic Service - Highly recommend.
Hopefully the mushroom and haloumi burger makes it the the regular menu - we will be back all the time for it.
Great food and a friendly team who make sure you enjoy your time there.
Was a good night but the Only thing I can say bad was the jambalaya was definitely not great or what I expected! it didn’t taste anything like a jambalaya and it was more a cross between a gumbo/ jambalaya!
Food was ok.. I had a pizza it was good .
We where sat in front of the kitchen entry on arrival. We asked to be moved as noise level from kitchen was loud. I think that that table should not even exist. The service was only the delivery of food to the table as you ordered your own at the bar , otherwise all was good.
Great food. Pizzas perfect.
Staff were lovely. It was very cold inside and we had to keep our jackets and scarves on. The chicken wings were amazing but I had a chicken burger and it was burned. It still tasted ok but there wasn't much chicken inside the burned bun and burned seasoning.
Can get a little noisy, but food and service was great.
Would also be nice to have more vegan friendly options.
Food was lovely which was the saving factor. The restaurant is styled nicely but was cold - couldn’t take my jacket off as I sat in an air conditioners breeze, on an already cold night. Service was basic - order your own food at the bar, collect your own water. No one came to our table unless it was to bring food and collect our dirty plates. No one offered dessert menu / coffee after our meal. Burger came out in a ‘diner style’ basket which was unexpected considering it cost $35. Very underwhelming ‘family’ vibe which was conflicting with the ‘cocktail bar’ tag on Facebook.
Charged 15% extra for a public holiday. $70 dollars, for a salad and co absolutely not worth it. I wouldn't recommend this place.
I wound up being at the Collective two nights in a row, first with a friend and then with my family of five.
The staff are always great, the food is awesome and the variety of drinks in really nice. We will be making this our 'go to' for family dinners out
The customer service was great . The young lady serving us on Sunday lunch time was wonderful she made sure the wine was perfect and that does not happen very much
The Barramundi meal wasn’t the best I’m sorry. The potoato fried things were awful. Needed some greens. Pizza my partner had was good though!
Awesome place just aircon a bit to cool. I suggest to sit at the window!
Very nice. Relaxing, casual atmosphere with one of the better chefs in the region. We enjoyed a delicious meal. Worth a visit. Waiting staff are helpful and attentive.
Unfortunately this was a disappointing experience for us, Gluten free is not catered for well at all. It is not marked on the menu and then to charge $5 extra for a Gluten free pizza base these days is ridiculous. On top of already fairly expensive pizza.
The meals were not brought out together, some people on the table had finished while other's were still waiting. The food was nice, but to charge over $30 for a gluten free pizza and $25 for a gluten free burger, which came with "steamed chats" as the Gluten free chip option was VERY disappointing. We then asked for a sauce for the plain potatoes, by the time that came out it was all cold.
The Pizza maker brought out a 'free' pizza which he said was because one was not enough for three kids to share. I know he was probably just trying to be nice but that was insulting. Suggesting we were too tight to buy our kids food. We had more food coming out, but you brought it out about 20 min later! We only got one pizza because only one of our kids doenst need to eat GF.
Get it together!
The menu was far too limited and no good for anyone that is even remotely fussy. There should be s couple of simple meals as well as the other meals.
Open table let me make a reservation, but the collective was closed. So I wasted time driving down for nothing. Not impressed. Surely you can get opening hours correct with this app and the restaurant.
Great food, very cool setting.
Great service. Meals were a high quality and still filling. We definitely left full!
We were a group of 8, easily catered for. Fpod was fresh abd fast.
Beer selection was great access cocktails and wines.
Everyone loved it.
We will be back.
Our favourite night out in gisborne for a good meal or just for drinks , always a great atmosphere and service with a smile 😃
Food was great but didn’t come
Out all together and was quite a wait
I would come again
