Luxurious without being stuffy. Very relaxed atmosphere particularly when the doors are open in the summer Beautiful food and wonderful service. All staff knew their wines and the menu thoroughly.
We shared steak, which was not good quality with a lot of grizzle and fat on it. Not good value and cost euro80
Great efficient staff. Seated a nice distance from other customers. Relaxed atmosphere. Food was very tasty meat cooked exactly as we like it. Wine was not the cheapest but worth it. I will be back.
Wonder food, wonderful service and wonderful place hold a business meeting.
very pleasant experience for our family events Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday.
attractive calm and attractive ambiance, open to lovely terrace outside. Lovely staff.
Beautiful private setting. Menu too long though and fussy. They need to simplify it, and add a salad as a mains option like a Caesar salad.
Very disappointed in the set menu. We had a voucher for three course dinner and were handed a set menu. Choice was limited and we didn’t enjoy the meal. Both went for pasta main course, it was very very poor. Surprised at the Merrion.
Very enjoyable lunch at the Garden Room. It was a nice day and the doors were open to the garden which provided an extremely pleasant environment to sit and experience some very good food. Service was attentive and our waiter Jonathan was friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back.
Everything outstanding as always from food to service to ambience. Highly recommended
Lovely ambiance. Great food. Professional staff. If you want to quality chill with good food, calm surroundings and view onto a water feature. This is the place to go.
This place is gorgeous! The staff is so lovely and the garden is as well.
Great menu with many choices.
It was a great dinner, the service is always perfect. The food and the wine is the best in Dublin.
Gorgeous food, fabulous ambiance and service which is excellent but never obsequious. I loved it, I will be back!
Very nice venue and ambiance .Service is excellent. Very good venue for an occasion. Wines are affordable .
Service was very slow and unresponsive at times. The main course was average but well below the price point. Deserts & coffee were very good. Could not recommend.
Perfect! Super family friendly service. Our 5 yr old daughter felt a princess. Food was beautiful. Overall really lovely experience
Really enjoyed the food here at the Garden Room @ The Merrion. I had booked here on recommendation for my birthday and although the table setting was fabulous and the food was to die for the service severely lacked and would not appeal to 5* quality. Very long waiting time for bread at the start and staff forgot many requests including milk/sugar for coffee tea etc, cleared away dinner plates when none of the guests were finished. Waitress seemed to have very little interest in her job and it showed. Disappointing visit as I have dined in the hotel for afternoon tea and was highly impressed.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and my birthday on Friday night. The food was amazing the service was excellent, will visit again next time we are in Dublin.
Food and atmosphere were perfect however when booking and again when I was called to confirm the meal I told the staff it was my mums 60th birthday and was told they would bring out a small desert to mark the occasion and unfortunately this never appeared. Would have been a special touch. Everything else was lovely
Had a meal here for our wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal; food and service was outstanding and a really lovely ambiance. Will definitely return!
We ordered the c'ote de boeuf. It was very disappointing. Poorly presented. The beef was tough.
Fabulous experience, the waiting staff were simply exceptional!
Very enjoyable night with excellent, friendly attentive service. Food was superb. Dessert maybe lacked imagination but that’s me being picky.
This is a hidden gem. Staff are very professional. Food is beautifully presented. You can spend a lot of money here, enjoy very nice wine or choose differently and enjoy the ambience for less. Worth experiencing.
Had a gorgeous lunch in the Garden Room. Had fish and chips followed by ice cream and coffee. Very high standard of service and quality of food. As it was my birthday I had a complimentary glass of champagne. The staff were so.lovelt and it was a beautiful dining room. I recommend having lunch or dinner here and, if you can a stay at the hotel. You will not be disappointed.
Fantastic setting, incredible food and attentive, friendly service. Highly recommend.
Excellent service, delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. Top notch as always from the Merrion.
All good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good.
Very nice overall. Steak slightly over cooked and missed a side order.
I went here for dinner with 3 friends - we had an excellent dinner, the service and ambience were wonderful and a great night was had by all. Margaret Lonergan
We booked the Garden Room for a special occasion and decided to try out the vegan menu as, given the Merrion's reputation, we felt that their vegan options would be of a very high standard. I ordered the poke bowl and my sister ordered the vegan burger. Both were mediocre, my sister was of the opinion that you could get a better vegan burger out of a van at a festival. My mother ordered the mackerel and was very happy with it. The vegan desserts were very heavy, the lemon meringue had a base you'd need a kango hammer to cut through. The atmosphere was sterile and very quiet, no warmth or life. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Overall, our night was 'fine'; I believe that the vegan options should be revised with more imaginative options that are finished to a higher standard.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Staff massively contribute to the overall experience.
Dear Jessica, Many thanks for the wonderful review posted recently and for taking the time to share your experience with us. On behalf of everybody here, thank you for your kind comments. I have already shared your feedback with the entire team here and they all join me in thanking you. I hope it is not too long before we have the pleasure of welcoming you back again soon. Thank you again for your encouraging words. Kind regards, Heikki McEvoy, Garden Room Manager
Ambience was ideal beginning with the welcome in the superb hallway (Stairs and associated artwork - wow!!) and we were most impressed at the quiet friendly efficiency and high level of general maintenance of the property. Loved the garden setting and the collection of paintings. (Some paintings would have benefited with background information.)
The one thing that missed the top marks was the rare (as requested!) roast beef which was surprisingly chewy. Veg and potatoes lovely.
A great lunch, highly recommended
Great Atmosphere, superb service and customer centricity.
Food a tad bland, but overall great customer experience.
Compliments to the staff both in the restaurant and the Cellar Bar!
A first class restaurant in every way. The food, staff and ambience were all excellent. We were looked after by Federica who was knowledgeable, charming and made our evening very special.
The interesting Wine List features some excellent wines at affordable. I look forward to returning very soon.
My favourite hotel and restaurant, great menu choices, cosy atmosphere and excellent service.
Lunch in the Merrion is a delight. The service was very good and the staff helpful . There’s a lovely atmosphere in the room, very relaxed and peaceful. The fact that it was cold and wet outside did not affect the warm atmosphere inside . Highly recommended !!
