The nicest staff in Dublin, so welcoming. Great food at excellent prices.
Fiona welcomed us and was warm.
We had a lovely celebration.
We spent 500 euros and am not sure it was super value for money.
Yet good ambience.
This is my first time at the Merrion Garden Room and I cannot wait to go back. Everything was excellent from the wonderful, friendly staff to the menu which catered for all tastes. I loved the spacing between courses and the relaxed atmosphere.
It was excellent as usual!!!
Appalling level of service, numerous different waiters, no interest in us at all, could not be bothered to pour out wine. First 2 courses could not be eaten because they arrived cold. Restaurant manager mainly focused his attention on one customer and studiously ignored us even when major problems were pointed out. It was such a shame. This is a fabulous hotel, with (other than this restaurant) delightful and thoughtful staff, the restaurant itself was very comfortable and attractive with lovely views from the windows, and ideal setting for a meal. The restaurant needs a new manager.
I had desided to dine at the Garden Room 3 out of 5 nights, I am dining there 5 out of 5 nights . I think it says it all 😊.
Mom’s 102nd birthday and they made it even more special!
Wonderful attentive service. Delicious food. Don’t miss the duck appetizer.
We were delighted with the service and with the meal and especially the wine selections!
Fantastic venue an oasis from the busy city.
Food and service were excellent
The service was very good and the room is lovely but our lunch was let down by the food. The chickpea cake was tasteless. We had the lemon meringue and the lemon curd looked as if it had split, strange taste.
As always, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch in The Merrion.
We were particularly impressed by our charming young waitress, Louise, from Tours in France, who looked after us so well.
Full disclosure: I have a professional relationship with the hotel but on this occasion I treated my sister and an American friend to lunch which was memorable for all the right reasons. The interiors, the garden views, the food, and polite, efficient service make for a five-star experience.
The staff in the Merrion are outstanding, finding the perfect pitch between top service and friendly rapport. My family and I have always gone there for special occasions for both the beautiful setting in the Hotel and the high standard of care. I last was here with my mum to celebrate my engagement and we could not have been treated any nicer or more kindly by the staff, with the manager Kate also coming over to pass on congratulations with complimentary treats. I would recommend to anyone.
Very nice restaurant with a great setting. Food was excellent and so was the service.
I had the Lobster Thermidor - very nice.
Our second time to have lunch at the Garden Room and in both cases we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food is very good, the service professional and the ambience is excellent. Only criticism is that I would like to see a more extensive menu.
The Garden Room ticks all the boxes. We enjoyed a lovely setting, top quality service and wonderful food. Couldn't have asked for a nicer evening to celebrate a birthday.
Service was excellent, food was tasty. Will definitely be booking again.
A truly top class lunch in a lovely environment. Well done to all the team in The Garden Room!
I booked for seven people a couple of whom had never been to the Merrion before. They all loved the food, the service and the ambiance. The occasion was a farewell to one of our group so I wanted the lunch to the special and it was. Thank you! I'll be back again on 3rd October!
Some of the nicest staff in Dublin, they couldn't be more helpful.
The garden room is a very lovely atmosphere, quite, and the food is wonderful. It is a great place to get together with friends.
The service is wonderful, staff are very warm and welcoming.
It is also a very good location.
The Garden Room was a very attractive place to dine with its lovely views of the garden and wonderful ambience. We were given a very nice welcome and excellent service throughout. Unfortunately my chicken dish did not have any discernible sauce or gravy resulting in the chicken though beautifully cooked tasting bland, the accompanying vegetable, peas were hardly noticeable, I did not finish all the chicken and the waitress asked if everything was alright, I told her, she said she would mention it to the chef. We were offered free deserts by way of an apology, thank you."
As always, the merrion never disappoint. We always go there when there's a special occasion or whenever we're craving for their meals. It's a relaxing place. Very romantic and elegant. I love everything, most importantly the service of the staff. They are friendly and attentive and always greet you with a smile. Thanks Merrion for the lovely evening.
Beautiful surroundings, decor, light-filled room. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Excellent service and good menu.
Fabulous dining experience, with wonderful staff and smashing food. On a sunny day there is nowhere better in Dublin to meet friends to enjoy an amazing relaxed lunch with bubbles!
A really nice experience - the staff were excellent and the food was beautiful!
I was disappointed with the quality of the fish and chips. The oil used to cook them was not fresh. Haddock was the fish on the day I visited and I am quite sure it was frozen fish, it did nt taste like fresh haddock.
Love this restaurant, however on this occasion the starters was excellent, but the main coarse was very average.
Excellent as usual. Superb location, excellent service and great food. I'm not usually a fan of hotel restaurants but everything about the Garden Room ticks all the right boxes.
This was my third time in this restaurant and I must say that the quality of food and level of service are consistently excellent. The menu ranges from the traditional fillet steak or rack of lamb to the more refined tuna/salmon/scallops ceviche.
The desserts are always good, but if you feel you don’t have enough space for a full size dessert you can always go for one of the scrumptious petits sucres.
The vegan menu is one of the best I have seen in Dublin so far.
The lovely view on the internal courtyard is matchless in a city where most fine-dine restaurants are located in the basement. I was lucky enough to have lunch in the courtyard on a warm sunny day and I have to say that delicious food and beautiful setting made it one of the most pleasant lunches I ever had in Dublin (even if I was alone).
I will certainly go back.
Really well looked after tonight thank you
We had a fantastic meal in wonderful surroundings. The quality of food and service were excellent. The menu had great selection and none of our party had a bad meal. The ambience was also wonderful for drinks beforehand as well as in the restaurant itself. It was a lovely evening and hats off to all the staff. They were all extremely helpful and friendly. Bravo..
The room is lovely and the menu very appealing. However, it was a quiet afternoon and I was disappointed with the table they gaveme for a part of eight - there were nicer ones free closer to the window, the food was only average (steaks overcooked), and the service not as attentive as you might expect - our wine was allowed to run out twice by the server. I was also surprised that for a group this size at this time of day, that no manager approached me to ask how the food or service was....odd for a five star hotel.
Excellent meal!! Food was delicious. A little overpriced but worth it if you want to splash out.
The food was fantastic and the staff were superb. Would highly recommend it to everyone
I decided a friend deserved some TLC and chose here. From the moment we were shown our seats to the moment we left she felt special. Sitting at a table facing the fountain, with the floor to ceiling doors open, it was sunny but we were in the shade. We dined on snacks, then mains. The quality of the food is what you would expect of this hotel. The wine list was comprehensive and we chose one of the cheaper Rose’s which was perfect. The service was attentive, personal and discrete. At no point were we rushed and stayed 3.5 hours. It was worth every cent. I would recommend booking mid to late afternoon when it’s warm. Thank you for a memorable day.
Highly recommended, great food and a really relaxing warm ambiance
Felt like I was away with the doors rolled back looking onto the fountain, enjoying the wonderful food and relaxing surroundings. Staff were polite and professional. Dessert was sublime. Will definately be back!
Gorgeous restaurant with a delicious menu. Food was fresh & tasty and service was excellent.
Lovely food, beautiful restaurant and perfect service.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and in such beautiful surroundings. The wine we chose was not chilled enough and that was very quickly corrected by our Table Server. My only negative is that our Table was cleared too quickly and we were interrupted too often during the meal.
