We need six stars to rate Five Fields-the attention to detail,the finest quality welcome,service and attentiveness and the stunning food make this a must go to place in London.My guest loved the intimate dining ,design of the restaurant and the plates etc (she is a top designer!) and was glowing about the food as a pescatarian and the trouble taken to explain and modify menus.
No finer place in london in my humble opinion.

The food and service was outstanding. As the evening progressed the noise level from some of the other diners got a bit loud on occasion. All in all I would definitely go back

Fantastic service and high quality food. Michelin standards without the extra Michelin premium. We enjoyed the tasting menu on Saturday, 8 courses for 95 pounds but actually with additional amuse bouche it works around at 9 courses or more. The bread was also delicious, I had to stop myself though from eating too many carbs but not before I had 3 portions of bread!

The service is superb, the only comment I would make is that at some point it got a little noisy when the room was full and everyone was talking at the same time. It would be good if you could confirm bookings online as you can do with other opentable bookings rather than by phone call.

In the modern world with fewer alcohol drinkers it would be good to have more non-alcloholic drink options.

Overall a wonderful dinner and service. We will be back again.

This was our third time at the Five Fields over two years. On previous occasions it was outstanding so I was worried that it might not be as good, but I shouldn't have. I remembered a lot of the hall staff, which suggests that it is a nice place to work for. This time we decided to be adventurous and go with the tasting menu, one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian, and both were excellent. Lots of supposedly "boring" winter vegetables (roots and brassicas) were transformed into delicious and surprising dishes, which was really interesting. Conclusion, it's not that broccolis are not good, it's just that I don't know how to make them into a tasty crumb! The vegetarian highlights were the "winter" dish (jerusalem artichoke, oka and crosnes) and the seaweed ravioli. How do you make wakame taste so nice? The carnivore highlight I am told were the crab and the slow cooked meat (for 72 hours if I remember well). We both loved the carrot amuse-bouche and the appled and kefir lime dessert, the second dessert (chocolate and miso) was a bit too rich for me at the end of such a long dinner. The spelt risotto would have been perfect if the seasoning had been on par as the rest of the meal (it was a bit salty), and the male sommelier was not as good at describing wines as the lady who attended us on a previous occasion. But these are really details, we had a wonderful evening. I would return anytime for the bread alone.

Five Fields is still (we were here about 5 1/2 years ago) a superb restaurant. The chef is very creative and talented, the service is beyond reproach, and the staff is professional, friendly, and very helpful. It's certainly not cheap, but it's worth every penny.
