Main course very good but the restaurant needs to improve on its dessert menu.
Excellent dining experience - highly recommend to anyone!!!
dinner Thursday night toothfish was to die for. would recommend
A delightful place to dine. Great food, excellent service, wonderful ambience and outstanding views. We come here every time we visit Burleigh and have always had an memorable experience.
The food was very good so was service but no atmosphere at all the value for money a bit much
Came here expecting great food after reading their menu on line, although unfortunately we had a bad experience,’
our fish was so over cooked it was like hard rubber.
Soup had way to much lemon added that there was no other flavour to taste.
Ok service but a huge disappointment all around.
Very expensive’, not worth the $, especially after dining at several other 5 star quality restaurants along Broadbeach this was by far the worst we have visited.
We are both foodies and don’t mind paying for a great meal, won’t be back again.
Great fine dinning experience. Thank you for the great service, our 2yr old was very impressed.
Lucky to get a window table (there were only two of us) - huge windows of restaurant open to great view of beach. It was the afternoon so best time for view. Food was delicious. Portions small (which was fine by me). Great flavours, super fresh local fish. *Very* expensive (but it was a special occasion and we'd wanted to go there for a while). $210 for two people - three courses, 2 glasses beer for him (one of which was complimentary for Father's Day), water for me. Service very polite and attentive but maybe too attentive - continuously asking us how our meal was, sometimes before we'd even taken a bite of the course. Made conversation tricky at times with the constant interruptions! First choice of mains wasn't available but it was still on menu. First choice of desserts required a 15 minute wait but that wasn't mentioned on menu either. But I'm quibbling. It was a delicious meal on a beautiful afternoon and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Would I go back? Probably not. It was good but not good enough for a repeat visit at those prices, even on a special occasion. But then I'm not a celebrity.
Great food, good service. Recommended!
Very happy with our re visit after not such a great experience last visit. Adam was fantastic and made our meal very special. Thank you for a great birthday dinner and to have enjoyed our voucher given to us by our daughter as a thank you gift, especially as she frequents the Fish House.
Calamari was our favourite dish. The other meals were small for the price paid.
as good as the reviews suggest it is. a very different
I had a very enjoyable Saturday lunch with friends. The food, service and view was outstanding. Can't wait to go back again.
We new the menu was a little on the high side when going there, but it seemed a way lot more expensive when we went there a few years ago. Not sure why the cost had to be as high as it was, the only thing seemed that different was the ‘dry aged Fish’ on asking if there was a difference in taste the waiter said they couldn’t tell the difference but the chef could....
The other thing we found a little disappointing was we were on a time schedule, we were only allowed 2 hours...well there seemed to be a delay in getting our menus and orders, we felt under pressure the whole time. At the end of the night, we weren’t even asked if we wanted to look at the dessert menus or if we wanted coffee. We actually wondered if they even did dessert or coffee as we hadn’t seen anyone have one, until we were just leaving, someone shared a dessert.
Overall, not that impressed and we all agreed we wouldn’t go back.
As always the food was sensational. The Fish House never disappoints.
Great service and food. Very wide selection of fish to choose from and all meals we enjoyed were cooked to perfection. in terms of price it's at the top end but you get what you pay for and we were not disappointed.
The food is always first class with a price to match. The fish and seafood always fresh and delicious but it is over $100 per head
A great experience
Dishes were delicate, fresh and delicious. Stunning views, relaxing atmosphere
Great chefs tasting menu. Main portion was very small but unlimited sides come along. Quality excellent.
Sensational food and quality service which made for a lovely evening
We were looking forward to this evening as our previous experience had been wonderful. Not sure if it is under new management or they were having an off night but the food just didn’t hit the mark for us. The real disappointment was in the lack of service. Their offer of unlimited vegetables would have been welcomed if they had bothered to take notice that waiting 10 minutes to catch someone’s attention and having finished the fish wasn’t acceptable. Particularly when either the owner or manager was too caught up in the 2 ladies at the very next table to look up from their breasts to see that our table was unhappy. Unfortunately we had oversea guests who we had informed were going to one of the best restaurant on the coast. Very disappointed. We won’t be going back.
You pay for what you get and get what you pay for. If one wants to eat cheap then go to McDonalds. If one wants to dine fine then go to The Fish House. Thank you Fish House. What a great dining experience it was for myself and my wife on her Sixtieth.
The Fish House lives up to its name, they have an extensive seafood menu and is 5 star dinning at it's best
The location opposite Burleigh Beach is magical looking out to the Surfers Paradise skyline
A favourite for any special occasion
Having travelled globally for more than 30 years, I’ve started to think it’s hard to be surprised by top notch service, cuisine prepared with love, passion and an elegant decor that makes you long to return. The Fish House is just such a place. The staff is very knowledgeable and attentive in all the right ways. Many thanks to each of them for a quite memorable experience, rest assured, I will definitely be back. If you’re travel plans take you too the Gold Coast or you’re a local that haven’t had the chance to discover this gem of a place, you owe it to yourself and especially a significant other to give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!
Great experience from when we stepped foot into the door. Service was amazing and the oysters were to die for. I also had the Moreton bay bug pasta which was so great. Will visit again
Having eaten at The Fish House in excess of 25 times .... we will not be back. Poor service and staff not experienced enough for what was the caliber of the restaurant , attention to detail not indicative of the Fish House we loved.
Visited here for fathers 80th it was a party of 5, we had the degustation, everything was delicious. Only downer was the bread was average as was the risotto, service was great as was the wine, will be back.
The staff were brilliant (thanks Andre) and the food was delightful. Plus the location was just fantastic
Nice food. Enjoyed all 3 entries, very different from other modern Australian restaurants.
Good view and nice environment
So wonderful to have beautifully prepared and well sourced seasonal seafood.
Had an awesome experience for my partners birthday! All the staff were really friendly and the food, wine & cocktails were all amazing!
Creative Seafood, however it still looks and tastes like fresh seafood. Wonderful selection of every fish you can think of. Daily specials are worth having. Oysters are the best ever tasted. Staff are very accommodating in both the food and the wine selections. Great Wine list. Try the baby deep fried crispy snapper, claire de lune oysters, king whiting. But start with a Gin Cocktail of which there are many to choose from.
Our second visit to the Fish house and they staff did not disappoint us. I'm 37 weeks pregnant and they were very helpful with suggesting what meals are best done 'well done' and a beautiful mocktail. My husband really enjoyed his Rose also.
Hope to be back with baby in tow !!
The restaurant and staff are lovely. As a group we were disappointed as we ordered the large cod and by the time it was de-boned at the table, it was cold. We also thought that the side dish portions were small and whilst you can order more, it would be nice to have enough to enjoy with your main dish, rather than wait for more to arrive. One of our party was a vegetarian and they did accomodate him. Very mixed - I think it's probably ideal for a dinner for two.
Amazing food. Great service. Nice dining experience
Amazing dining experience. The food and service were second to none.
First visit but most definitely not the last. Food was amazing!
Service first class too.
The food was great, they had professional service and the view of the burleigh beach front and surfers skyline was great
Attentive and friendly staff who know what service is about
We visited the Fishouse a few years ago and I had the best dining experience and have raved about it ever since. Then I had the Coral Trout - my favourite fish straight from the tank. Perfectly cooked. This time I was looking forward to repeating this experience. The fresh tank is no longer there and no coral trout on the menu. I know it is difficult to source this fish but still?. Must say the presentation of the meals and service couldnt be faulted. Would I go back. Probably not. When a restaurant doesnt live up to your expectations its a bit disappointing.
