The Ferry Inn
We're serving gastropub fare in a casual, relaxed atmosphere.
Dine with a view from our indoor restaurant areas, in our log cabin dining area or out on our multiple waterfront terraces.
We are renowned for locally sourced produce, in particular freshly caught fish specials that change based on local availability.
Our menu is regularly described as 'pub food with a twist' and has recently been awarded the Good Food Award for Gastro Pubs for a third year running.
Families, Dogs & Muddy Boots are all welcome.
We are very dog friendly but please let us know if you're bringing a dog.

Excellent service from start to finish, wonderful food and a glorious view
Fantastic setting overlooking the river. Very friendly staff and excellent food. Booking essential but well worth it.
Had a lovely lunch seated by the window overlooking the river. Was very enjoyable, and would recommend ti highly.
First visit won’t be the last. Lovely place, great atmosphere attentive staff good one way system for Covid restrictions. Food was excellent and plentiful
We had pork belly and sticky toffee pudding all very delicious and large portions We will definitely be returning
Excellent Venue , Great Quality Food as always. Good welcome & attentive staff - Good choice on Drinks & Draft Beers looked after . Highly recommend a visit , Not Cheap Eating but not over priced either , Food is Good Value for Money .
Food good, portions generous. COVID restrictions adhered to
We ate at the Inn the last two nights and very much enjoyed both meals and the venue. Would recommend this place to all in the area and those like us visiting the area for the first time
We have been here many times and always enjoyed our meals, however we were very disappointed with this visit. We had to wait 55 minutes for our main course and the spare ribs were so tough we had to ask for the chef to cut them for us. Even then the meat was only just edible. It took a further 20 minutes for the waitress to inform us that one of our dessert choices was not available. Will not be returning any time soon
Meat eater must try the Tomahawk. It was beautiful
Fabulous food and great service! Thoroughly recommend
The young man, could have been a restaurant manager was absolutely lovely so was the lady who greeted me, she could have been an owner or a senior manager. The dressed crab meal was delicious. They greeted myself and my Bichon Berty exceptionally well. Will definitely return on my next visit and will mention the Ferry Inn to friends 😊
Great food quick service and they made sure my dog was fed and made welcome
Best food ever, lovely views over the river and plenty of wild life
Very pleasant, staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.
Really lovely meal for lunch . Dog friendly with great views of the estuary.
Lovely views, friendly staff, delicious food!! What more could you want?
There are some places you go where nothing is too much trouble, this was not one of those places. We felt like we were just an inconvenience.
General attitude of the staff was poor and seemed like they didn’t want to be there. No friendliness or welcome or like they were happy to have you there after all this time being closed. Marred the overall experience.
Arrived earlier than reservation on off chance we could eat earlier or just have drinks. They could accommodate us but the guy that greeted us made a real mountain of a molehill. The table management seemed poor. As there were lots of empty tables with great views we asked to move which they accommodated but we heard grumblings from other dinners who had asked the same and obviously denied despite the fact there were empty tables with the better views.
We wanted to order a special main, the dressed crab, to come first to share before having our actual mains, the waiting staff had to ask the chef for some reason, again felt like an inconvenience then told no we can’t order as a ‘starter’ even though we weren’t asking for it as a starter size portion!
Ordered the tomahawk steak which was really nicely cooked but the chips tasted of oil & had burnt bits at bottom of bowl like they’d been cooked over & over, and the side order of coleslaw was tiny considering it was £3.50 extra.
All the food seemed a little overpriced and that’s coming from 2 people who are used to London prices.
The view makes this place (if you can see it!).
The Ferry Inn is a super pub right on the river. Although a little on the expensive side we had a most enjoyable evening, the food was very good and we booked again in the week for another evening to try more on the menu. All too good to miss.
Thank you Ferry for being so kind when we were half an hour late! So sorry - we are all usually very organised x
We booked our meal online, and were very pleased when we found that we were seated by the window over-looking the river. An excellent choice of menu options, and all our meals were delicious.
Amazing food, would be nice if there was some quiet music but didn’t impact our enjoyment!
Brilliant food served by lovely people with outstanding views. We have been going to here for the last 3 years and it never disappoints.
Sunday dinner here is absolutely cracking. Staff are very accommodating and friendly and great spot for views
Food was lovely - we were expecting traditional pub grub but this was more interesting. Roast mackerel was superb. Staff friendly & efficient.
Lovely evening, great tasty well presented food and made to feel very welcome by the staff. Highly recommended.
Great food and brilliant service. Would highly recommend.
Very dog friendly, staff were very polite and friendly, reasonable menu choice. We were booked on an outside table, but because it was raining we were moved to a table that was undercover.
great food - well cooked
made to wait outside 10 minutes in the cold from 11.55am to 12.05 when our on-line booking was for 12.00
waitresses clearly new and inexperienced but tried their very best
We’ve been coming here for 15 years. Best menu ever.... more pricey but worth it. Outdoor spaces heated.
Great food and service. We will be back soon. We would highly recommend.
Lovely friendly place with a stunning view over the estuary
It was nice but found the lunch menu a bit limited.
Really great service and food. Highly recommend the Ferry Inn. Very good sized portions for those with a good appetite and they adhered to covid rules really well. I am a vegetarian and it was great to see veggie options without pasta and cheese!
Food was lovely, staff very helpful and the view of the river was a really nice backdrop for dinner
Lovely meal, brilliant service and views. Highly recommended
Lovely staff, great food, perfect spot for a special family gathering
Wonderful pub! Excellent service, food and amazing views. Would highly recommend.
Lovely pub with a varied selection on the menu. Food was very lovely, with (to be honest) very little size difference between children and adult portion sizes. Beer was well kept and service was attentive but not in your face. We were made to feel very welcome, and will be back again when down this part of the country - thanks very much.
It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere with good food
