The Ferry House Inn
The kitchen provides quality pub food, A La Carte dining in the restaurant, weddings, 4* accommodation and events.
The beef and lamb serviced are reared on the owners' own family farms, the team shoot their own game and grow their own herbs, vegetables and fruits in the pub's own kitchen gardens. Additional ingredients are foraged from hedgerows and the nearby seashore.
Absolutely lovely pub, always delivers on good and service. Perfect location for a chilled out Sunday dinner and drink in the sun! :)
Beautiful location, friendly and attentive service and delicious food!
Lovely country walk with our dog before a tasty sunday roast - beautiful day so sat outside in the sunshine - great views and location.
Got married here 6 years ago and have beeen every year for our anniversary. Food and staff are fantastic and its amazing to see how much, each year they have improved on what i thought was alrwady perfection. Will be back in sept 2020
We had a lovely, relaxing stay at The Ferry House Inn. A beautiful, peaceful location, comfortable room and friendly and helpful service. There is a very welcoming ambiance and the food is delicious. Lots of locally sourced ingredients and produce from their own kitchen garden. It's a real gem of a place and we are delighted that we found it by chance online.
Food was amazing!!! Best fillet steak ive ever had. The table was in a great location for the views. Our waitress (lady with dark bobbed hair) was lovely and very attentive!
Only negative was that whom i presume was the bar manager sat on the table next to us, speaking loudly on the phone and he had various other team members join him for a chat about other staff members! Perhaps an office may be best for this kind of thing?
Overall i had a lovely birthday lunch.
lovely venue, staff attentive but not intrusive, nothing any problem for them, knowledgable bar man able to give recommendations on local drinks. Food is excellent and fresh, nice sized portions, was able to visit the kitchen garden which I loved as I am a bit of a gardener.
Lovely location on the undeveloped east of the isle, historic building, but a bit of a Chef and Brewer vibe inside. Interior smelt of stale fish fry.
Appreciate the locally sourced food, unfortunately the venue seems to be more about weddings and is in danger of being overwhelmed by its development as a hotel.
Good for a walk if you are on the island.
Took some friends for Sunday lunch over the August Bank Holiday weekend - it was fabulous. Service was good. Only one criticism with the dessert - meringue was clearly shop bought and tasteless.
Always good food, well worth the visit. Good selection of wines and beers, local craft ales etc.
Very disappointed. Had the table booked for some time but the menu really let the evening down.
Menu over time seems to have shrunk, having visited many times over the years. Very little to choose from and the Special Board consisted of three types of steak only.
The setting of the restaurant is lovely, even more so if you get a good sunny afternoon/evening to sit out.
Unfortunately I will not be returning and neither will our friends.
The food, venue, staff and ambience are great in this beautiful pub by the Swale. Thoroughly recommend to anyone who wants to have a nice meal out. The route too the pub is stunning so remember to take your camera!!
Wish there was more choices but overall a lovely setting with great ambiance.
Beautiful food Could not fault it . Great Service and wonderful ale to wash it down .
Really enjoyed our visit, booked late online and table to ready with my name on (nice touch) when we arrived. The service was pleasant and the food was amazing. Will come back.
Fantastic - everything was just fantastic from the staff to the food set in an unbelievably relaxing location- Kent’s hidden little gem
The ferryhouse Inn is uniquely located at the end of the country lane, looking down the water across the beautiful garden. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The locally sourced food is delicious.
When we dinned in July we had a bar table in the room behind the bar. It was quieter and cozier (while a big wedding reception taking place at the restaurant). The tiny problem we had was that our table by the entrance by the mirror seemed to have attacted quite a few flies. But it would not stop us visiting this place again. Highly recommended!
Great food locally sourced, great location for our date night for our anniversary. Can thoroughly recommend the vegan option which was risotto. Lovely free taster of the freshly cooked bread and oil and the ice cream was to die for. Served by a very friendly waitress and all topped off with a porn star martini and breathtaking views across the Swale.
Lovely food and a lovely place. Getting married there next year and it’s made me so excited for the big day!
We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch off the beaten track! Service was very good, all the staff were very friendly - even accommodated us turning up an hour early for our booking! Food was delicious and portions were just the right size. I can highly recommend the baked chocolate mousse!
Food was great, but we waited a long time for our drinks to arrive, and no atmosphere , could do with some background music
Lovely meal, freshly cooked and from local ingredients. Staff were very friendly and a credit to the Ferry House.
The pub was very busy as there was also a wedding, but we were seated quickly in an area away from the wedding party. The service was excellent and the food was faultless, will definitely be visiting again.
Dont know what happened on Wednesday 22nd May 2019.
Waited 1 hour for food and when it arrived the cod was not cooked in the middle had to send it back.
Drink service was extremely slow as well.
I have been eating at the Harty ferry regularly lately food and service are generally good but nit on this occasion.
Amazing food and venue, lovely staff, wait times a little bit long
Lovely location in a remote area, but well worth the trip, Friendly staff peaceful location. Great spot for a wedding function.
I would rather NOT recommend this place as it's SO good I want to keep it to myself! I have never had a bad experience here and all the staff have been excellent.
Absolutely love this place! Fell in love with it the minute we set foot on the grounds - from the cute secluded location to the amazing locally sourced food - this place is a must visit!
The staff are super friendly and helpful and willing to go the extra mile for you.
The atmosphere is fantastic - not too loud but not awkwardly silent, homely and not too formal but not your average run of the mill pub.
Highly recommend a visit here, especially in the summer!
Food was very good, but there was only one vegetarian option of which was a very small portion (the pumpkin pie). More veggie options needed.
Disappointing visit to the ferry inn, unfortunately we were sat by the entrance so every time someone walked in you got a blast of cold ( we should have asked to move). Unfortunately my husbands order for dinner was not put through the till, so our dinners arrived minus my husbands a very embarrassed waitress told us what had happened unfortunately it would take another 15-20 minutes for his order to be cooked by this time we had started our dinners ? No alternative was given so he went without, very embarrassing meal, he did have dessert and when the bill came he was not charged for his dessert, drink and service charge was taken off, it still did not make up for the fact that it ruined the meal for us.
This is a wonderful gem, beautiful surroundings, absolutely fantastic food, I really like the fact that they use local produce with both food and drink. Obviously a place so nice has a high end menu choice, but also do a lunch special 2 course and 3 course, which is always sublime, with great imagination used for the whole menu. Hats off to the chef and their team. It is hard to find a place so wonderful without being pretentious.
Beautiful food, perfect service while there too. Highly recommended.
Hi Charlene Thanks for the great review I will pass it on to the team!
The food as always was exceptional and we always feel so welcome.
Well worth the drive to get to this little gem
Thanks Emma its great that you enjoyed your visit so much hope to see you again soon.
I was so disappointed to be told my tastecard wouldn't be accepted because it wasn't declared when I booked despite me never having to do that before. The man serving also tried to say even if he did accept it,bit would only be for one meal anyway. I had to show him the tastecard app to prove that wasn't the case. What was going to be a special treat ended up with a shocking bill we were not expecting and put us out of pocket.
However, the food is delicious here and the waitresses we've had everything have been faultless. It's a beautiful place and I would still go back, but would be extra careful about some of the staff.
We got married here in 2014 and have been coming back for our special anniversary lunch every year since. Friendly staff and atmosphere and amazing food as always
So pleased you enjoyed you anniversary dinner we look forward to seeing you again soon.
This is the first time we visited and I must say what a beautiful venue, food was exceptional and service was first class
Thank you for a memorable evening
Great that you enjoyed your Valentines Day dinner with us and we hope to see you again soon .
The atmosphere was fantastic, the live music was subtle enough to know it was there but we could still have a conversation. The waiting staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The food was incredible. We love fine dining and have eaten at many Michelin starred restaurants and the food was as high a standard. Well done to the chefs, you did yourselves proud. Had an amazing evening.
Thank you for the feedback our Head Chef and kitchen team look forward to Valentines Day every year as the tasting menu is their chance to do something extra special and different, so glad you enjoyed it so much and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
My girlfriend and I went for a Romantic meal here. The service was absolutely outstanding the staff looked really genuinely happy to work there and they were really chatty but appropriately so and not too invasive into the dining experience. The food was gorgeous and I can recommend the sausage wheel with mustard mash and vanilla creme bruise. 10/10 we will be back. Perfect.
Thanks for your feedback, lovely that your enjoyed your meal and also our service. I will certainly pass it on to our team hope to see you again soon.
A great place for a mini break however the bar was underneath our room with music playing all day when just the staff were there, and no break at all apart from night time. Nice music but a little rest bite would have been better.
Fantastic place. The food was delicious we had Sunday roast. Lovely open fire, very cosy and relaxing after a stroll across the salt marshes. Staff were fantastic, extremely friendly and helpful. We were delighted with a taster of the local sloe gin, it was delicious :-) Would definitely go back
So glad you enjoyed your Sunday Roast and our cosy fires hope to see you again soon with another slow gin tipple of course!
