We were very well looked after and we had the set menu which was great! Your staff were really lovely considerate and we felt they went above and beyond, guiding us through back sections (avoiding the main loud bar) to get to the top bar for drinks - this was great as it was a birthday party and made us very welcome! Thanks
Great space, nice renovations, average food (Parma was cool and cheese had started to congeal) and despite reminding two different staff members on two different occasions one meal still didn’t arrive.
Food - we shared squid, octopus, ceasar salad and tarama dip. The squid was well cooked and the salad was very tasty. However all food was over seasoned (particlarly oily) so meal wasn't well balanced. Service - it took 20 minutes to take our drink order and one of the drinks was not what we ordered. Food came out quickly once ordered. Ambience - we sat at the bar with view of the kitchen which was a good spot. However there was a hen's party on the table behind us which was very loud.
Service was friendly and professional. Food and drinks were delicious!
Group of six and we all loved it. Brilliant venue!
Great service. We had 3 birthdays and they provided a lovely glass of bubbles to celebrate with a smile. It was excellent.
Came in for my birthday and was so disappointed, we wanted yummy food and instead were given cold carrots and chicken.
Very friendly service. Awesome pizzas! Liked ambiance.
My husband and I asked the waitress about sharing the seafood platter and she said that would be enough for both of us. VERY disappointed as it was not enough for even one person. Everything else was great except leaning there hungry.
The food and service was amazing. It was a little loud so if you are going in a group you won't be able to hear everyone. Small groups are perfect.
I will be back. :-)
Buzzy but relaxed. Good food and wines and excellent service from Ella. Definitely would come back and highly recommended.
This place has a great feel and the staff are generally into their jobs. The steak is always terrific, pizzas very good and Parma to die for. Seafood platter was a like underwhelming for $42. Small oysters and mussels, tiny scallop and no fish.
Second time to the Espy kitchen and could not fault it. Food delicious and great service.
Very delicious food. The interior design and ambience of the this restaurant is exceptional, we will come back soon
They forgot our main meal after telling 2 staff members that we were waiting for it. After an hour it was finally picked up but to late for us we had to leave to see a gig
Food was great and atmosphere was amazing! It did take the waitress half an hour to get to our table to take our order but besides that it was a fantastic experience!
We went here for dinner early on a Sunday and had the Sunday roast which on this evening consisted of roast chicken it came in a buttery lemon sauce with the accompanied side vegetables of potato and cabbage.
The chicken was delicious and tender the accompanying sauce was lovely we would’ve preferred to get a little bit more and the potatoes were perfectly cooked.
The cabbage however was not nice at all.
We also had the desert doughnuts and they were absolutely delicious.
The wait staff were attentive without being overbearing and I would highly recommend this place.
Value for money, it’s a bit steep. However we would visit again.
Getting in and out of the Espy Kitchen was the worst part. There was no clear signage and as it was a Saturday night we had to navigate our way through a crowd of drunk and inconsiderate footy patrons. The restaurant itself was nice: tasty food, friendly service and a completely different ambiance than the bar.
I have been to the Espy Kitchen a few times since this year and have always had an enjoyable experience. However this visit exceeded them all. The service by the team on saturday night was fabulous, they were friendly, attentive and professional (whilst not taking themselves to seriously). The food was divine and there are many options for dietary requirements. The occasion was a belated wedding anniversary dinner to celebrate my parents and the night was made more memorable by the wonderful dinning experience at the espy. As locals, we are very happy with the restoration of The Espy.
Considering I booked weeks before we were next to kitchen
Sat down not once did we get asked for a drink but got out own water.
Food was pretty average full off salt.
Went pay bill girl took money walked off. I might be bit old fashioned if I pay for a meal a thank you would be nice. Truth is there were 5 mums on night out it was terrible.
Thank you for asking
Fabulous delicious food, efficient service by friendly staff. We had a great time
Family lunch at the Espy Kitchen was a bit disappointing. The service was average. The Food was below avaerge. My pizza came out before the entrees. My wife’s fish came out after we had all finished our meals. Just not professional enough for the price and the venue.
We had the best time. Made to feel very welcome by staff. The Sunday roast delicious. We had a 12.30 booking and as the restaurant filled up so naturally the noise level increased I asked the waiter if he could turn down the background music which he did and offered us a quiet area to have our coffee. How thoughtful and fantastic keep up the great work you have my big tick of approval
Although it’s of decent quality the food is overpriced, our wagyu steaks were very average quality and cooked inconsistently even though we ordered as recommended, fish and chip serve was tiny for an adult, burger was ok, the pizzas were nice and so were the cocktails. Friendly service staff. As a group we didn’t feel like we got good value for money having spent well over $100 each
I really enjoyed it! Food was good and then we were kindly escorted to The Ghost bar for cocktails after our meal.
Beautiful food, chefs table with view of the busy and very professionally run kitchen. Lovely staff. And the cocktails were sooo bloody good!! 10/10
Service was excellent food well prepared and very tasty - Creme Brûlée was amazing
We ate the Wagyu and roasted vegetables. the meat was poorly cooked and was almost inedible. the vegies weren't cooked properly. so hungry afterwards we got a pizza from Topolinos!
Great, fun venue. Food was exceptionally quick. Service was excellent.
Excellent causal dining with good atmosphere
Highly recommended pub food
In general, was a great time, we just had a really loud, big group next to us so found it hard to hear each other
It wasn't possible to reserve a table at the time that me and my friends would like to have a lunch. And also not table available for booking for a number of people that we would like. Some of my friends had decided to meet just ate bar because of that. But when we arrive at the restaurant there were many tables available and it wasn't so busy as I was expecting.
We enjoyed the food in The Kitchen our was great, then moved into the bar area most of the staff were lovely then one staff member was very rude and made me feel very uncomfortable, they might have been having bad day but it was not called for,. Overall we enjoyed ourselves.
We are huge fans of the Espy Kitchen & would love to go more often.
Access to and from the restaurant via a very crowded bar is not ideal. It took us around 5mins to exit after dinner! :)
Also, at around 8/8:15pm we wanted to order more drinks and food but we’re told by the waitress our table was booked and we had to leave. This is the 2nd time this has happened to us at the Espy Kitchen & we wonder if people are wanting to stay and pay more, why can’t another table be assigned to the later guests or at least offer us an alternative space to continue our night. The staff are lovely, but this issue could have better process and flexibility around it so that guests feel welcomed.
Thanks again for your hospitality.
Friendly staff. Good food and service. Music was a bit too loud. My dinner date and I couldn’t hear each other.
Our group loved our lunch at the Espy kitchen. The food, atmosphere was all spot on the and the staff were stand outs.
Thanks so much.
The dining experience was not very memorable. My Date and I ordered Sword Fish and the portion was very small, and not very Hot.
We wanted to order a side of Root vegetables, - just sweet Potato - and was told I couldn't just have that. - That is unacceptable.
Also, there were NO Green vegetables (such as Peas etc) available at all and the Cauliflower that we ordered was not appealing.
In all, not much to recommend.
Loved the food and the atmosphere, I’m definitely going back for the Sunday roast
Nice to have a quieter retreat to catch up with friends and have a snack or meal even though we loved the noisy vibe in the bars too!
Wonderful, delicous food. Was very entertained watching the talented kitchen staff working to make our meal in the open kitchen.
