The Elgin’s 4 main principals, Peter Pernicone, Darwin Conner, Paul Baum & Christine Trauben, have known each other for 30 years. They all grew up on the lower west side of NYC in Chelsea, before going their separate ways after college. Although each pursued careers in different fields, they had a goal of owning a bar together & could not be more excited about opening The Elgin. As an acknowledgment of their collective history, they named a signature cocktail—the Chelsea 1724—after their neighborhood. Darwin & Paul grew up in Chelsea on 17th St and Peter & Christine lived on 24th St. They are joined by Patrick Callaghan who has been working with Peter for many years.

Good atmosphere and great foods. Very suitable for casual dinner
Really enjoyed this restaurant !! Food was excellent it was decorated so nicely for Christmas only 1/2 block from the tree so great location! Service was phenomenal so friendly and personable
Great holiday drinks!! Beautifully decorated.
Great food, ambiance, service and drinks! Highly recommend.
It was a great experience. We started off with the adult chocolate milk and the white Christmas drink. Both were good but the white Christmas drink is a little messy. The Buffalo chicken sliders were really good but the pizza was okay. Definitely worth going again one day when things open up again.
It was perfect! The staff was very caring and helpful and nice
The Elgin was decorate SO well for Christmas, and had the best music and atmosphere. My roommate and I would definitely recommend their holiday cocktails, and will be coming back for dinner soon!
Very safe, great service, delish cocktails & food
It was great!! Loved my cocktail and Andrew was phenom. Coming back tonight!!
Great food, thoughtful service and a great atmosphere.
Excellent food and great, friendly service. We ate outside so there was normal street noise. Everything was very clean, all staff were in masks and tables were spread out. Highly recommend it
We sat in Covid outdoor dining space. It was fine and well isolated with plastic barriers between tables. Tight seating but understandable. Food was served quickly and service was courteous. Food was delicious. Better than expected!
If you're looking for a place to have brunch, I would not recommend this place.
They have a small menu with very little flexibility. On a Sunday for brunch they
had to ask the chef if he would make fried eggs. It came with no potatoes. They had one kind of toast, no jelly, etc. They didn't offer refills on coffee. It was less than accommodating. It's more of a burger and drinks kind of place. They shouldn't
even advertise as a brunch place. I will not be returning!
A delightful spot for a quiet and delicious brunch
The only thing I can say about our experience at the Elgin, is that we had the worst, absolute worst waitress that I’ve ever had in my many years of dining out to all kinds of restaurants. She was completely miserable, never smiled, didn’t ask us our names, didn’t bring us our drinks, and therefore was not tipped. The gentleman filling our water and food runner was 100 times more helpful and pleasant. I’m not sure if she think her long blonde hair means she doesn’t need to do her job right, but that’s sure how it comes across. I really wish I would have gotten her name or brought it to the attention of a manager because she is definitely a thorn in your business.
Amazing!
Food is great
Great casual reasonably priced restaurant in Rockefeller Center.
An after work pub feel, with very animated conversations at a very high noise level! Thank goodness our server steered us to a small room where we could at least hear each other speak!
Comfort food and pub atmosphere, good drinks selection
Hosted post work drinks. They have a great private room as well.
Was Going to see a show at radio city.
Location was perfect
Food was good
A bit noisy in first seats but hostess changed our seats to a quieter spot without us even asking !!
So thoughtful !!
Waitress was wonderful : friendly , efficient , really sweet.
Would definitely come back here when in the area !
Nice atmosphere, good service and good drinks. Food was pretty bad though. Crab dip was so watery and liquidly. It was like dipping bread into water. The egg rolls were “ok” and the pizza was just ok too. It was pepperoni pizza but with only 1 dime sized pepperoni on each slice. The crust also tasted like that frozen kind...like really hard and stale tasting. Would come back for drinks and that’s it.
Great find! Food and service great. Nice sized tables. Would definitely go back!
Great place for burgers, sandwiches, salads. Friendly staff! Good burgers. Location is 2 blocks from Rock Center. While it is not a quiet, fancy place the food was good, reasonably priced, the service was exceptional. I would say this would be a good choice for families. Nice bar!
Great atmosphere and food. A typical gastropub with plenty of choices reasonably priced. Service was excellent!
Tried it for the first time, was nothing special...food was good but not exceptional. However it is close to Radio City, Rockefeller Center and Broadway ~ good location and easy to get to.
The BEST sliders and wings we have ever had!! Excellent service!!! Will definitely be going back!
Everything we had was delicious and sitting upstairs (though a tiny chore for my senior aged parents) was a bit of a bonus as it was away from the crowd coming off the street from the Christmas tree viewing. We arrived around 4PM, a little early for our reservation, but were still able to be seated, which was greatly appreciated as we'd been on our feet for most of the day. The only downside was three of the items we tried to order on the appetizer menu were already sold out (the waiter did compensate us for that and again greatly appreciated). The French Onion Soup Burger is a must. We all enjoyed our specialty cocktails. I had Riina's Cure-All and am looking forward to return to have another!
Food was great but they are limited in beverages. Bar has limited choices and no cappuccino or cream available.
Festive, upbeat, cozy nooks, happening bar. Enjoyed onion soup burger, pan cookie, nice glass of wine. Nice to be able to get very good food at fair prices in a buzzy warm atmosphere in midtown. Will be good for future pre or post theater outings. Cool second floor which overlooks the bar - went up there to peek. Really enjoyed the evening.
We came in for brunch and everything was amazing. The steak and eggs tacos were delicious and perfectly cooked. The avocado toast was sublime and the truffle Mac and cheese was decadent! Service was amazing (thank you, Katie) and the Bloody Mary was the perfect amount of spicy! We had a great time and can’t wait to be back!
Was everything we expected. Drinks were unusual and tasty, food very good.
great location for excellent food and good atmosphere for those uptown/further east theater dinners.
Food was good but service wasn’t great. The turkey was good
Had a lovely thanksgiving meal. Great service and great food. Definitely worth a visit
NYC pub ambiance and very good food overall, with exception of the pizza. Service was a bit slow, specially when our party had 2 very hungry children. Would highly recommend the burgers.
Indifferent service and just alright food
This is primarily a bar with a restaurant attached and it can get VERY loud. The food and service are good but it is not a place to go for quiet conversation!!. It is convenient for Rockefeller Center and has a good range of drinks and a pleasant standard-type of menu.
