Varied menu with lots to choose from; very tasty food, attentive service and relaxed atmosphere. Portions are quite small - Menu could include some suggestions on how many things to order per person.

I don’t normally go to Sidcup for lunch but The Elephant was a quite and cheerful place to spend your afternoon. Lovely attentive staff and delicious food. We will be back for some Happy Hour cocktails once you are opened. Stay strong 💪

Had a lovely meal (highly recommend the squid starter!) with cocktails. What is important is how different this restaurant feels compared to other venues in Sidcup. It has great ambience, the Sri Lankan menu has lots of options and the staff are incredibly friendly. We would definitely go again.

Lovely food & great value

Very rushed, only had an hour and a half but we were reminded about 3 times by staff. When it came close to our allocated time I could see the waiter/manager looking over at our table ready to kick us out, lucky I asked for the bill first. Not a nice experience, don’t feel valued and just a number they are trying to shift out the door when finished.

Imaginative selection of dishes. Coconut milk used in place of cow's milk - great for me and my intolerance to cow's milk.

Super nice staff but food was pretty terrible. Wild boar curry and devilled chicken inedible, seems like the meat has been pre boiled and thrown in to a bad oily mess. Sorry we will not be back

Always eat here and think it is superb as per my previous reviews but on this occasion it wasn’t very good.

The wild boar dish was so spicy that it spoiled the rest of the meal because the amount of water i had to drink to take the burn away. I ordered this to be mild I mentioned this to the waitress but no action was take. Although i she is a new face and wasn’t familiar with the menu anyway so lets hope its just a one off as i do love it there

A friend and I popped in here for a drink earlier this year and have been meaning to go back to eat ever since then... and I am so glad we finally made it, The Elephant did not disappoint!
We shared a mixture of starters and sides as there was so much that we both wanted to try. Everything was absolutely delicious! Possibly my favourite was the Dahl. My friend is vegan and the menu held lots of options for her.
The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and answered our questions happily.
Also we felt perfectly safe with all staff and customers following the covid guidelines... and still the restaurant maintained a great atmosphere.
Thanks to all at The Elephant for a fantastic evening... We will definitely be back! X

Not had this cuisine before but the waitress was really helpful and advised us what to have. Lovely food and cocktails really cool vibe had a great time

This was my 4th visit to introduce more friends to this little gem of a place and they will definitely be returning. I recommend for 3 people to share the sizzle platter while you wait for the main event. And to pick a few things you all like the sounds of to mix and match for mains

All in all a very enjoyable evening.slightly disappointed that they ran out of Elephant beer after only two pints and the only alternative a much stronger lager that we didn’t like.food was nice.we booked table for 7pm but wasn’t aware we only had two hours and we nearly had to not order main course however we were able to stay longer.all the staff were excellent and all in all a very nice evening and glad to see it so busy in there in these tough times and I hope the elephant continues to be a success.could do with a separate bar area where people could stand or sit to have a quiet drink if they don’t have or are waiting for a table.

The food here is Authentic and so tasty but it’s not like anything I could compare it to in another restaurant but I totally recommend it. Have been here a few times now and every time the food is amazing the service is amazing and we all love it. My only criticism would be that the cocktails need more alcohol and less ice

Nice restaurant and excellent customer service-can improve on giving extra rice with currys as sri Lankan are always more fond of rice. But excellent overall

First time visiting we wanted to try something different and i must say it was delicious.
Loads of flavours I’d say medium to hot taste .
Staff were lovely and very helpful.

It was our 2nd visit in this outstanding restaurant, but this time during pandemic following government scheme: eat out to help out.
No words can describe how comfortable we felt. No one from the restaurant guests were closer than 2m to our table. Staff was wearing masks. Hand sanitisers on the entrance. Not mentioning delicious food! We were absolutely delighted to be there again and enjoyed Sri Lanka cuisine. Highly recommended.

Really good food, the starters were amazing. The main dis of rice topped with a freid egg was okay not much flavour and the prawns were overcooked.
I would definitely go back and have lots of starters instead.
