Have now been twice within the last month and both times found the restaurant to be incredibly cold. There is also a loud noise that sounds like air conditioning. Starters were good and love the mini puds with the cocktails but find the main courses quite boring. Used to love this pub/restaurant but will probably give it a break for a while.

Great value for a social lunch. Very interesting menu. Only downside is that despite having made a booking via this website, the Duke's Head had no record of it on my arrival. This is the second time this has happened. Could be very embarrassing when meeting people for the first time!! Please get it sorted. Coming up to a busy Festive Season, this could be very annoying.

Was only told of 1 item not available on menu and when came to order, something else was not available so had to change mind while staff waited. Already waited 30 mins to order when the table next to us where ordering having arrived after us!! Waiting staff called upon and our order was taken!

FABULOUS AFTERNOON AND REALLY LOVING THE NEW REFURBISHMENT. IT FELT LIKE WE WERE IN A LONDON RESTAURANT AND NOT IN A PROVIONCIAL TOWN. FABOULOUS FOOD AND WELL PRESENTED WITH VERY ATTENTIVE SERVICE. LOVED THE MIXED DESERT SERVED LIKE AFTERNOON TEA. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WELL EVERYONE AND GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY !

The Dukes Head has had a fantastic makeover since my last visit. The quality of the food appears to have had an uplift too! Service was very friendly although a little slow at times. Will be back again though!

We have previously had a few bad experiences at the Duke's Head - meat on vegetarian dishes, very slow service that led us to cancel the children's desert (ice cream!) - to name the one's that come to mind. After a local event, the children chose the Duke's Head again. Saturday afternoon around 12.30pm. We were pleasantly surprised. There is now a vegan menu and my curry was very nice, plus a generous sized portion. It'd be great to have a vegetarian one too as, it isn't that easy to pick these out of the main menu quickly. The family all enjoyed their menus and this time the food flowed with minimal issues. The staff were lovely and attentive. If the restaurant has turned a corner and this is now the standard, we will be happy to visit again.
