The Duke Of Wellington
Lovely food, great service, good value. Would recommend it!
This was our first visit to The Duke of Wellington and it was excellent. The service was exceptional from the welcome on arrival until we left later in the evening. The food was very good with a range of choices and prices to suit most tastes. We'll definitely be returning.
Ate there two consecutive nights, steak night was amazing then Good Friday fish night, it was more whale and chips and absolutely delicious, service was excellent and would highly recommend for a meal and a stay over .
Stop here on way to Newcastle and stay and food were good will definitely consider returning
Disappointed there was no vegetarian option on the Sunday lunch menu, and it took two hours to have two courses ,used to be a favourite place.
Hi Joan - thanks for leaving us a review! Our Sunday menu does say to ask about vegetarian options, as we do have a selection of veggie options always available, for example, this Sunday when you dined, we had a choice of vegetarian lasagne, spinach & cheddar puff pastry parcels, vegetable roast & a broccoli & stilton bake - all available on our veggie menu. We will look at having these more readily available at the table! Please come in again for us to help you leave happy! Many thanks, James
Class throughout. Beautiful food at excellent prices
We were all very pleased with our meals, Brie in batter or fish cake for starters, rack of lamb or steak pie for mains, all good, very tasty and well presented! Service was excellent, didn’t have to wait long and checked we had everything we needed regularly! Men very happy with the beer, Theaskstons best! Would definitely recommend a visit!
The food here is consistently amazing and staff are really attentive, especially the landlord who is a true gentleman. We have eaten here a couple of times and will definitely be back again. Can't recommend this place enough.
The food here is excellent, my only small issue was that my dish was not exactly as described on the menu - I had the chicken pizziola which was supposed to be stuffed, with a herby tomato sauce on top, seasonal veg and gratin potatoes. There was no stuffing and it came with homemade chips. I had to ask for veg but a bowl of these arrived minutes later.
EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE WITH GREAT AMBIENCE AND FRIENDLY STAFF
Took a gamble on this pub as we went on online reviews only. What a gamble it was. Cannot fault anything, food was great and the service was excellent
Not a huge menu and it's traditional pub grub but everyone agreed it was all very delicious
Picked from internet as midway meeting point between Durham and Easingwold for a Sunday lunch. Country pub in village centre with clean smart decor, very friendly and helpful owner, good sized helpings, excellent yorkshire puddings, perfectly cooked vegetables, 3 choices of roast meat all tender and tasty.
Excellent value for money compared to where I am from in Kent.
Lovely Sunday lunch with family, food and service excellent. Would definitely return, and recommend to friends
