Booked a table with my wife for the 23rd Dec. We have been quite a few times before for just drinks and twice for food. Service was great and the food excellent. We had the seafood platter to share, slow cooked belly pork and a mushroom stroganoff. Usual good selection of real ales.
My heart goes out to the staff and owners in these times struggling with not knowing when they can open and for how long. They were in Tier 2 on the 23rd having just reopened the previous weekend only to be going back into Tier 3 on Boxing Day ruining their plans for Christmas and the New Year. We will be supporting the Duke of Oxford as and when they can open in the coming months. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely meal and night out.
We both had lovely meals
Following Current Guidelines I was informed of the rights & wrongs shown to my Table, Service was Prompt & Food Order was Exceptional... most definitely recommend to friends 👌🏻😬
Great venue, delicious food, and hot on the social distancing rules. Highly recommend.
The best place I’ve eaten in Weston Super Mare. Fabulous Sunday roast, great ambience, dogs welcome, good bottle of wine, outstanding service.
Perfect, we’ve vowed to make it a monthly outing.
Staff were very accommodating, first table they showed us to was too noisy but straight away they sorted a quieter one. Food was very good , didn’t have to wait too long considering how busy it was. Good range of drinks and cocktails.
Stopped for pit stop on way back from Cornwall. Beautiful brownie! Best yet.
Chicken Thai curry was tasty too
Quiet in the pub - imagine that it will be lively during normal times
Always well organised. Always friendly. Great local pub.
This was our second visit, this time there was a young man murdering the Piano, which was annoying, but the staff soon realised and asked him to wait till we'd stopped eating. Other than that it was a really good experience, good food, beer and surroundings would definitely recommend, we will be going back there in December
Diligent in following Covid guidelines, polite and engaged staff. The food is good honest pub grub. Nothing not to like here.
A quirky yet homely pub. The staff are friendly and the table service operated well. Very impressed with the Covid measures that have been put in place. My partner and I enjoyed our pre dinner drinks.
A request. Please bring back the pork scratching with the homemade apple sauce. They were fabulous.
Good food and drink, one of the nicer places to eat in Weston
Good service. Only had a limited menu with a few roasts and some other bits because it was Sunday. They did do a child’s roast for me for a fiver which wasn’t on the menu, so was happy with that. Food was good. Didn’t have to wait long. Good selection of beers.
We had fish and chips which were delicious. Really great chips. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Everything seemed clean. There were a lot of people there, so it was quite noisy, but service was still great.
Food and service was outstanding.Lovely surroundings and close to centre of town.
Good Pub food served with a smile and efficient.
Food was good, felt safe and the staff were very good.
It’s a really nicely done out and plenty of space.
Busy and quite noisy which made it difficult to speak with people on own table and some tables seemed a little close to each other
Waiter a bit over enthusiastic which was a bit overwhelming
Mushroom stroganoff lacked flavour
Good ambiance and nice to relax and chat
Excellent food and service would definitely recommend and return!
The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive
Four of us enjoyed good value food and a nice atmosphere.
Good food and service, we all enjoyed. We will definitely be going there again
We had a lovely lunch. I would describe it as perfect! The food was super, the staff were attentive and very friendly. The drinks were great.
I really love this place for food. It is by far the best place to eat in Weston-Super-Mare and the surrounding area.
Food was excellent value for money with the added benefit of taking advantage of the Eat out government scheme. Manager was friendly and welcoming but service was very slow. He did apologise genuinely for the delay. It was very busy and I would have liked the music level a little lower more like a restaurant ambience. I would recommend the restaurant as the menu was varied and everything was presented well. Hopefully when a little less busy the wait time for food would be quicker.
A great safe space to eat and drink. The staff are wonderful.
As always, attentive and friendly service: this place keeps getting it right.
The food was all home made salad was so fresh and crisp, the place was set out well given the covid regulations, staff were really helpful and felt relaxed and safe in there will definitely return
It was really nice in here.
Food was lovely.
Only downside was that our table was very close to others, so we didn't feel as though we had much privacy.
Have been to the Duke of Oxford a few times for drinks and food, always excellent service and great tasting food, especially enjoy the Sunday lunch menu. Lovely relaxing environment and especially when live music on Sunday afternoon
Highly recommend
Dealing with the challenge of 'new normal' empathetically and with common sense. Friendly, knowledgeable staff serve an intelligent selection of beers and lager to an easy, mixed crowd. It's our new local. Very impressed.
The bar staff were very friendly and efficient. I visited the Duke of Oxford during the 'Eat in to Help out' scheme, so I cannot complain about the price at all.
I was in two minds about ordering fish and chips as I would usually only order them at a chippy, but both the fish and chips tasted so fresh and were beautifully crispy.
Followed the guidelines really well. Staff were so great.
Everything great. Staff friendly, food really nice
Had a very nice evening. Service was excellent. Food was really good. Happy with the whole time we was there.
Great food and friendly service. Very dog friendly.
Always a pleasure going back to the Duke, however the menu is a little limited and wouldn't suite everyone's taste.
food was great , the young waiter was very good but the time we waited for the food was so long , quite a few tables were moaning . The waiter was apologetic. We were ok with the time as we were not in a rush and would go back again but think they need a few more chefs in kitchen next time though
Great pub, my only minor moan is that my mixed grill has come out well done on several occasions when I ordered it as a medium rare, last time it all came over cooked and was missing the black pudding entirely.
lovely staff, very friendly and the food was amazing
