The staff were amazing from the front door of the hotel all the way til we left. We mentioned we were there for a birthday once we got to the front desk, and they brought us a candle for the birthday girls dessert, without asking. Food was amazing, the oysters were a stand out. Would go back and recommend.

From the welcome to the completion of the dinner , the staff were attentive and unobtrusive throughout.
Fresh flavours; tasty mains and exquisite presentation were the hallmark of this meal of oysters and kingfish as entree; swordfish and pork rack as mains and the beans as a side were in good proportions and satisfying. A shared dessert of pineapple and honey cake completed a satisfying meal.

Working in the hospitality sector I understand how hotel restaurants manage their business based on food costs, wage costs and keeping that level at a certain percentage for maximum profits. It usually ends up in a sub par menu as the chef does his best to manage his food costs and profitability.

However when I made the booking here I didn't think that this would be the case.

I didn't check the menu, I just genuinely thought that this was going to be a five star restaurant in a five star location.

Like how can it not be?

Stunning lobby and restaurant décor, with a stunning view.

But sitting down to a set menu for $80 for three courses I suddenly realised that this was just another hotel restaurant inside another over priced hotel that happens to be in a good location making sure that their food costs do not get out of hand by making on only a few food options.

The chef must be depressed having to set a menu like this to maximise profits.

I was expecting to spend a large amount of money on my wife's birthday and have an amazing selection of food to pick from, but it really was disappointing.

The menu was boring and the food was okay, but nothing that I would recommend to anyone nor ever come back.

I guess for $80 a head is shouldn't complain, but really guys, what a restaurant! why not make it an amazing restaurant?

Let the Chef present a menu that is inspired!!

It was just such a disappointing experience and I could never recommend it to anyone sorry.

Oh and teach your waitresses how to handle a decanter, so scary watching her pour it with one hand, it had disaster written all over it.

The quality of the food was not worth the money we paid for it. It was cooked adequately but was nothing special either in cooking skill in cooking the items or the flavours they got from it. The menu items read nicely, however as stated the meal didn't live up to expectations.

After the meal we ordered liquor coffee's but it seemed the bar staff didn't really know how to make them (even though we checked with the waiter prior to ordering) as the cream was mixed for 2/3 of the glass and the drink was overall cold.

Apart from the disappointing meal the service, attention, friendliness and helpfullness of the staff was outstanding - from the concierge, to wait staff - they all really excelled and their interaction helped salvage a rather average experience.

Early NYE seating. Entree and Main came out cold (restaurant was definitely not full or busy...) and were both underwhelming. Dessert was forgettable. Good thing this hotel has a good view of the harbor. Service varied greatly from staff who remembered us from previous meals to a staff member who kept reminding us we had to give up our table soon (at that point, we had 40 minutes to go...). She was also rude about my wanting the bill to be credited points wise to my Hyatt account. All in all, for 300 a head + drinks + sides...I thought they could have done better

I’ve dined at Park Hyatt’s Dining room several times over the years and unfortunetly on this occasion the service and food was subpar compared to our other visits. The menu itself is un-inspired, the main of fish had a side of something that tasted like store bought leggos tomato paste, the dessert options were unpalatable. The only saving grace of all three courses were the fresh oysters, which clearly says a lot about the caliber of food being served out by the new chefs. Our waiter/table server was fantastic, however the Mattee de/front end was ridiculous they wanted to seat four adults on a square table meant for 2 people. Staff need to use common sense when seating guests, there’s no need to squash guests when there’s plenty of open/unused tables. Overall would not be back, unless the chef changes.

Of course as a luxury hotel they ticked off the boxes on cleanliness, customer service and COVID safety precautions. Although the dining experience on Christmas night wasn’t all that.

I was pretty disappointed with food and the experience as a whole. None of the four courses served stood out or made an impression. It was not the quality of the food but the taste which felt too experimental for me. For a four-course dinner the dishes were rather small as well.

Given that it was a special occasion like Christmas, both the table setting and the environment of the dining room was plain. It felt like I was having a casual lunch more than a formal dinner.

For the value I would say that it was disappointing and not worth it. The experience did not leave an impression and to be completely honest, I expected more.

The Dinning Room continues to be my favourite restaurant with superb customer service. Food quality and presentation of exceptional standard. Customer service beyond any other fine restaurants. As I asked for some hot water due to the cool weather, they offered me lemon and honey as complimentary drink. Dining with a million dollar view with good spacing between tables. Just due to the Covid registration at the door, there was some wait at the door even we had a booking which was understandable. Will definitely come back. Thank you Park Hyatt!

Nice food, amazing view. Given current circumstances the restaurant wasn’t full allowing everyone to be spaced out and noise levels not over the top.
Food was amazing and good serving size. Left feeling full and content.
My only recommendation would be to monitor water, it seems to be an endless supply with glasses topped off continuously and then the number of bottles appearing on the bill, would have been nice to be asked if we would like a new bottle before the next bottle was opened

Eaten at The Dining Room many times before and never been dissatisfied like I was this time.

Entree and dessert were lovely. I chose the beef for a main which was disappointing, chewy and not cooked medium rare. My friend also had the steak and had to send hers back as it wasn't medium rare.

I love the Park Hyatt Sydney, superb location, great view of the Opera House and unpretentious service from people who know food and beverage. Add in quality food and wine and it’s a pretty good mix. I can highly recommend the Dining Room.

We went the dining room at the Hyatt for my birthday . The restaurant and views are beautiful. However the steak is over cooked and the service is very slow . We all ordered the 3 course meal and were also charged EXTRA $10 PER PERSON to have the birthday cake served.
