The Dining Room - Park Hyatt Sydney
No matter where you are seated, you will enjoy uninterrupted views of the Sydney Opera House and harbour. Here you will discover premium Australian produce, local wines and craft beers, and that renowned Park Hyatt service.
Menus are designed to share however the choice is yours. Choose to order share-style for the family, or select your own dish. We recommend our Feed Me experience - served sharing style for your entire table to enjoy. It takes the worry out of ordering and puts your trust in our chefs. They’ll surprise you with a selection of their favourite dishes, prepared using produce freshly delivered on the day.
Service was amazing staff were attentive and really welcoming. We were celebrating my mum's birthday and they even had gave her a complimentary mini cake with a candle in it. Was so special! It was a raspberry chocolate mousse cake ... we had the 5 course surprise me degustation menu designed to share.Food quality was amazing but the menu choice was really bold and too out there for our taste buds .... like kangaroo tartare and guinea fowl! Did I enjoy it? Yes. Would I order the surprise menu again? Probably not. But overall excellent venue with amazing views!!!!
Tom, Megan and other staff made the experience all the better with their friendliness and helpfulness.
A very enjoyable gastronomical experience & the ambience was fabulous too.
Too close to the next table, lack of privacy
Food is just average which is not equivalent to the price
We have been regularly coming to this restaurant and it's been on a bit of a downward slide. Firstly service whilst polite made us feel so rushed that it was unpleasant. Then the menu was just reasonable. With the cheapest beef dish at $70 for 200g that was disappointing. The food was tasty yet not quite as described. My lamb was overcooked and promise of licorice overtones were missing. My wife's Barramundi was dry, overcooked and poorly presented. Certainly not fine dining standard. The traditional bread before your meal has been turned into an $8 money grab and the $12 side of broccolini had 4 broccolini sitting pitifully on the plate. Overall I feel this restaurant must just rely on well to do guests and unfortunately has gone from a great value Sydney hidden secret to a poor value and poorly executed restaurant where you feel you're being hustled through the menu to clear your table. I'm bitterly disappointed.
Excellent location and delicious food. Not many options on the menu but what we had was very good. We did feel a bit rushed though and they certainly wanted us to leave at a specific time to make way for a function. I was not made aware of this when I booked. But overall a very enjoyable lunch.
The noise was only due to a sound check that was taking place for a fashion show that was on the boardwalk.
Outstanding service, atmosphere and the view was breathtaking. Could have more vegetarian options for mains and entrees.
Location, food and service was amazing, definitely a must when in Sydney
Beautiful setting on the water with a view of the opera house.
Service was Outstanding.
The menu was interesting although not to my taste-/ sadly I have an unadventurous palate. However the chef helpfully changed a dish to suit my taste.
Despite the unbeatable setting the room lacked ambience probably because of its size and the fact there were few diners that night.
Incidentally I don’t recommend the lounge for drinks. I ordered a glass of champagne. To my astonishment the waitress poured me a thimbleful in a wineglass. Not a flute. Nor did she wait for the bubbles to settle before scooting off. At $19 for a thimbleful it was more expensive than Krug.
Just as well I didn’t order the Veuve. Perhaps some attention to training the waitress would be a good idea.
Great food, ambience and service. Excellent views of the Opera House and parts of the harbour.
Great food, service, views & staff. Would highly recommend
It's a lovely place to celebrate a special occasion. The staff are warm, friendly, thoughtful. Would be nice if the space between tables is a bit more so you don't have to squeeze yourself or run into another person's table. Would also be nice if they could offer fresh, warm bread to start off with which they did the first time we went there:).
We prefer oder by menu better than $110/5 course. The food just so so . The view is better than the quay .
The service by the head waiter in particular, was awful. The food was not good as expected. Thus unfortunately, quite disappointed over all. I wouldn’t go back anytime soon, unless the menus and teams are changed.
It was my bf birthday. I enjoyed every second of that. Nice view, surprising and delicious food, excellent service. Everything was unbelievably perfect. I saw in reviews that some people said that they forgot birthday message on dessert or something like that but its not true. If u ask them before, they will do all things that u want even better than what u can think.
The best dinning with a really affordable price. You can receive such a lovey food and service in some other restaurant with double or even triple price.
The dinning room is amazing!
The main dishes were so good，great service and great view. Would definitely go back.
The Park Hyatt high tea was a lovely experience with excellent food and service. It was, however, a little disappointing to find that there were no sugar cubes, only packet sugar. This unfortunately detracted from the experience. It would have also been helpful to have been provided with teaspoons upfront rather than having to ask for them. The criticisms in this review are meant as suggestions for improving the experience. We otherwise enjoyed our time there and would go back.
The food was amazing. And the staff. And the views!!
Beautiful view and top service. Great experience with very friendly staff and highly professional sommelier.
My friends and I enjoyed our lunch and get together in such hospitable surroundings. However, there was an extra charge on our bill for water after we asked for tap water. This was sorted out on the day. On the booking sheet, I was asked whether this was a special occasion and I said yes, it was for the birthday of one of group. On previous occasions when this has been mentioned, there has been a small cake and/or candle accompanying dessert but this time there was nothing. So I was very disappointed in this and don't know whether it is due to your booking site or new policy.
Thanks to your polite and friendly receptionist our phone call to advise that we were delayed was passed on to the dining room with no problem. The staff were very professional, friendly and attentive, and more than willing to adapt to our needs. We enjoyed a delightful meal and overall it was a very pleasant way to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you.
We booked at The Dining Room for my grandmother’s 80th and the staff were exceptional. The experience was perfect and we were even surprised with a birthday cake for her which made her experience even more enjoyable and memorable. We often have breakfast the The Hyatt for special occasions and it was our first time having lunch. With both experiences so lovely we might have to stay for both in the future! Thankyou for making my grandmother’s birthday so special!
Exceptional view for our overseas visitors.
Fabulous food from the a la carte menu.
Attentive services from the staff.
Fantastic experience beautiful food great staff really enjoyable experience
We had a great dinner for our 40th anniversary with a fantastic view of the Opera House! The course menu was more than enough and the service was outstanding. This is a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
Beautiful intimate romantic restaurant, dimmly lit in the booth style table at the back looking out towards the view, perfect for our anniversary as we were married at Park Hyatt 26 years ago. Service was fantastic not too annoying, sommelier was great as well, food divine not overly big so order sides but was just enough to satisfy and left us room for dessert. Overall a beautiful dining experience on a Sunday evening, will definately return when we visit Sydney again.
The service was not professional-the way they handle customer when asked for window seat.
Most of all staff was very arrogant- definitely not friendly at all.
A very enjoyable meal with great views of the Opera House. The service was impeccable and the overall setting one of relaxed sophistication. I enjoyed the bread and the main course, Lamb rump, although the lamb was little bit red for my taste. The dessert was superb even if a little on the pricey side. The selection of wines was terrific and the presentation and temperature was perfect. I would say 8-9 out of 10.
this place was incredible, the staff were amazing and were always friendly and kept checking up on you which was great, the view from the dining room was incredible, with a backdrop of the sydney opera house and occasional fireworks made for a spectacular evening, the food was excellent in taste and presentation and didnt take too long at all to get to the table, yes its expensive but its well worth the money
The staff sat us at a window table, which was nice, but a giant pillar blocked a lot of our view so we asked to move and they let us. The prices are eye-watering and the portions moderate but the food is excellent.
Service was a little off this time, however food is always very good.
The menu needs a bit of an update and I feel some one the dishes available through the room service menu should be added to the restaurant menu, such as the pumpkin pasta
I have dined at The Dining Room previously and it was lovely to come back.
The ambiance of this restaurant is perfect with views over the harbour and an elegant relaxed feel.
From minute one the service was professional but relaxed. Food quality and choice were excellent and the wine list extensive. In spite of this quality the prices are among the best in Sydney for this level of dining. I will certainly return and can recommend the restaurant to diners who enjoy quality at a fair price.
The Dining Room is a great place to eat if you would like a venue on the water, with a great view of the Opera House. Of course, you would need to make sure there are no cruise liners in port at the time! Service was good, the food was tasty and the tables weren't too close to each other.
Very happy with the experience.
A surprise birthday cake with candle was presented for Christine's birthday (my wife)
The location and views were excellent. Consistent food and friendly service.
The service was discreet and elegant, the cadence of the food was spot on.
The flavour of the food was exquisite.
Love it will come back
Food was lovely. The 4 of us had the sharing menu. Food was cooked well, and our Thai friend enjoyed her Kangaroo. Small portions especially for the men but lots of flavour and of course the view was magnificent. Our French waitress bought service with a smile.
Fabulous, creative and supremely fresh food at an exquisite location looking towards the Opera House.
