Food was great, service efficient and friendly, covid requirements managed well, gorgeous surroundings … will definitely go again!
Sadly both my starter and main course disappointed. The Asian slaw with my perfectly cooked calimari ( but not much of it) was limp and lacked flavour. My prawn linguine was creamy but the prawns were chewy and dish also lacked flavour. We were charged for drinks we didn't have. The staff were nice but our very young waitress should have noticed the amount of food I left and queried it. Instead she couldn’t wait to clear up.
The ambience was fine and decor and sitting outside on a warm summer’s evening was magic. Came home and felt a bit sad about the food experience.
Lovely food and great service.
We have eaten here several times and never been disappointed.
Lovely food, great gin selection, great outdoor seating area
Booked online two days before.
Staff expecting us when we arrived.
Service was very good. Staff friendly and knowledgeable regarding wine and food menu.
Would definitely return.
We ordered King Cod and chips and weren’t disappointed!
Well done all staff at Davenport!
Lovely setting , lovely food and all round loveliness . Will definitely be back .👍
Lunch with a girlfriend, a lovely day which always helps! Outside seating /Umbrellas just right, alfresco lunch, food as always delicious although had hoped for a few more Summer food items, Fish & Chips / Beef Suet Pudding not quite right with 24o heat 😛
Platters/Breads/Salads - meze starter was nice but go large with cheese/meats etc or Tapas?
Desserts yummy 😋
Would & do recommend you to family & friends 👍
Thank you, staff attentive but not invasive.
Enjoyable evening. Service was excellent. Here’s to more of the same.
Excellent food, with a specials option. I had trout with coconut rice and Asian salad and it was one of the nicest meals I have ever eaten. The service is friendly and efficient. A lovely evening . We couldn’t fault anything .
Not a huge menu but food was lovely. Staff were nice and helpful
Lovely menu, plenty of dishes to mix and match if you don’t want a main course at lunchtime. Chunky chips were delicious. Outside eating was great, tables were well spaced out with good comfortable seating.
Fabulous place , great position , super customer service and tasty food .
Delicious wine .
Lovely lunch outside in the sunshine, staff super helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Great menu with lots of choice and food was excellent.
All parts of the Sunday roast very good apart from the broccoli which somehow escaped the kitchen uncooked - expect al dente was the aim but was not achieved.
Excellent service and food was excellent - thank you 🙏
Best Sunday lunch. Staff are lovely as well. Definitely recommend
Lovely meal more so a very nicely cooked Sunday lunch than the ok pudding...
Had a lovely dinner at The Devonport, the food was very nice and a good portion. The staff we very friendly and really good with my 1 yr old daughter. Will definitely be going back
Attractive venue. Plenty of staff. Starters - ok. Smoked salmon and avocado cream, no lemon so not as tasty as could have been. Mushrooms on sourdough with poached egg. Very good but the egg was cold.
Sunday roast - good. Beef, tasty, cooked medium. Roast loin of pork with lovely crackling a bit tough but good taste. Roasties and vegetables freshly cooked. Yorkshire puddings - yummy.
Puddings looked good but couldn’t manage one. Too full. Maybe next time.
We ate inside and the section at the back was quiet and the decor calming. The staff were charming and attentive. Overall, the food was very good. The greens were a little undercooked. I like them crunchy but... . The portion was large. Perhaps potatoes and swede could be served separately. Far too much on my plate. Starters were very good and I know our guest so enjoyed the crumble.
Birthday it was lovely
The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, table nicely set, very attentive and pleasant staff, food excellent.
Have eaten here before and the food was excellent. Upon returning last night with friends we were disappointed with the quality of some of the food - particularly the chicken kiev which was bone dry. Ambience was good, it was lovely to see people out but it seemed as though there were too few staff compared to the number of customers inside and out. Staff did their best and were friendly and courteous but simply rushed off their feet.
A lovely restaurant. Our food arrived quickly and I can highly recommend the risotto.
A lovely local pub, beautifully renovated with an interesting menu that caters for all needs. We sat outside and having booked a table we were seated quickly. The service was swift and the food was excellent. Good quality ingredients and enough food but not too much. Will definitely return. Many thanks for a lovely meal.
The new outdoor seating area is superb - clean, classy and welcoming. Location is lovely. You could easily work off any indulgences by strolling along the river or just decide to sit and enjoy the fabulous views across to Dinsdale and beyond.
Service was friendly and responsive but not everything arrived in a timely manner for our party of six. Food quality was great and we all enjoyed our lunch but it is on the pricy side for a weekday outing. I'd expect a fixed price menu or 'light lunch' option rather than what looked like the main menu. Burger for £14.50 was apparently delicious but left my 13 year old daughter still hungry. Chips, despite being described on the menu as salty were actually plentiful and perfectly cooked.
Be warned - military planes take off in groups from nearby Teesside Airport, making a very loud disruption to the otherwise tranquil setting. Thankfully this only happened a few minutes into our visit and again as we left two hours later. We didn't know whether this indicates a pattern that you could prepare for or could be random intrusions into your relaxing meal/drink.
We'd probably go again but only as a special (adult only) treat because of the prices.
Fantastic place will be back for sure. Thanks so much.
Great Service and atmosphere, Food is also very good and at a reasonable price.
Food wasn’t great value for money paid £9 for a halloumi wrap which didn’t even come with chips or anything extra. My partner had to send his food back as he was served prawns stone cold. We won’t be returning.
Very happy with everything . Only gripe was that I added a gratuity onto the bill when paying by card only to find out a service charge had already been added
Perfect family afternoon with amazing food. Great service too
Great food & great service! We will be back again soon.
The service and politeness of staff was very good and the food was amazing would of like mine a little hotter but that's my personal preference clean plates all round was a little bit of normality ....lovely
Excellent service, food delicious, safety measures in place, lovely atmosphere!
Lovely atmosphere in a sunny spot, not too crowed and good choice of drinks
Lovely food and atmosphere. Great staff. Will definitely come back again.
Lovely food, quick service and a lovely evening! Burger was fantastic and the sticky toffee pudding
Perfect evening. Food, service and ambience great as always
Brilliant as per usual, food as usual very good cannot recommend highly enough.
Fabulous meal and service as always. Never disappointed.
