Lovely atmosphere, great service. Food was good too!
Great vibe, amazing food, great customer service, convenient yet exclusive location. Slightly on the high end in terms of pricing. Can be slightly cold dining at night outside.
Very bad service. Staff was rude. Not much food options!!!
A great location, but drink prices were exorbitant. $12 for a can of Somersby cider (because they were out of the Willie Smiths on tap) and $14 for a can of beer was a surprise. They were missing quite a few drinks from their menu, like the cider, and replacing them with inferior, far cheaper, substitutes, yet charging equivalent prices.
This was not the best experience.
Great views of Hobart surrounds with options for in or out of the sun.
Upon arrival the staff did not greet us and could not locate our reservation and struggled to find us a table although the area was pretty much empty. We waited approximately 5-10 minutes for a table. We did not order food only cocktails. The cocktails were nice and so was the set up. The waitstaff could not carry 4 cocktails on a tray and had to place the tray on the table, this made the service slow and unprofessional. It is a shame such a beautiful venue has very poor service. Wish you all the best for the future, but we probably wouldn't recommend or return.
If you're looking for somewhere multicultural this is where you'll want to be as the only locals were 2 women working the bar. The majority of staff seemed like they'd just landed on Tasmanian soil with no customer service or language skills. Be great to see a few more locals employed.
So I have quite a bit of feedback I’d like to provide. We booked our visit based on a recommendation from a friend and viewing the menu on the Facebook page.
Firstly, when I arrived, there was no record of my booking. The staff member even showed me the iPad, which had no details for our booking, despite the fact that we had a booking number and email confirmation.
I was then seated in the section that only had set menus (3 course, 5 course and 7 course – online research indicates that this is the Core Restaurant and Bar section). This was not what we were after, so I moved to a table outside.
Once my other party arrived, we determined that we would be unable to sit outside due to predicted high winds (which I appreciate the venue have no control over). The menu available on the webpage/Facebook page is only available when sitting outside.
Once we moved inside to the circle lounge area, we were presented with a different menu again, which again was not what we were after. We asked if we could order off the menu that we’d seen online, only to be told that we would have to sit outside.
We ended up leaving and taking our business elsewhere.
I am due to return to The Deck for a birthday function later this month, that someone has booked based on a conversation we had prior to our visit. I’m hoping to have a better experience next time!
I love this space with my friends. We can sit outside but still be sheltered. The food is simple and good. Great pizza. The service is always with a smile. Love The Deck
The pizza was prompt and good. The rest of our meals were a disaster - three burgers got lost, it took them longer to work out they had disappeared (to someone elses table and gone cold?!) than it would have just to recook them. They then had to recook them. Two people ordered the same burger, one didn't have any coleslaw. The parmi's were burnt. Really disappointed in overall experience.
Finally, a venue in Hobart that utilises the afternoon sun.
We really enjoyed it. The staff were great all in all a great afternoon.
You’ve got a great location which I think will keep bringing people back. However food and service didn’t match this.
Great place to relax and enjoy lunch with work colleagues
much better than the last time I went which was opening night.
Great atmosphere
Food good
Price appropriate
Service has improved although missed one item we ordered
Waited 90minutes for food, had to cancel order in the end. Staff were kind and helpful but seemed short staffed
The ambience is very good but be prepared for wind and wrap up against the cold.
Great location, views and ambience.
Food was excellent and well priced.
Great place to catch up with friends, beautiful views, great service and food is delicious and reasonably priced
This place needs a few months until they get on their feet and get their heaters installed. I booked in advance and requested Comfy chairs but I don’t think they had my booking and we were placed at the exterior (Away from shelter), where there was no heating.
Excellent service, they did a good job under the circumstances
Freezing cold, had run out of gas, so heaters didnt work
Also run out of sparkling as advertised so replaced with alternate
Pizzas were very poor
Hi Jill, Thank you for sharing your feedback which is important to us. Please accept our sincerely apology on your unpleasant dining experience and we have brought this up to our culinary and service team. They are working on improvements. We hope you will give us a second chance and we hope you have a more enjoyable experience in the future. Kind regards.
Ambience was very inviting and relaxing, need more heaters for outside dining. Had to order cocktails inside; food came out separately, one food order got lost. Our meals then came out again after we had eaten. Will give this place another go. Food was nice and cocktails were great.
Delicious potato pizza, fabulous cocktails and warm cider!
Probably a few teething issues unfortunately. Very limited drinks menu on the outdoor bar, heating was poor for Tassie weather, the payment system was down, the toilets were broken on the level of the bar/restaurant.
Hi Sam, Thank you for your review. We are still getting into our groove and once we get past a few teething issues, we hope we can turn your experience around in the future. Best regards.
