View Private Dining DetailsWe ate dinner here on Monday night. We arrived at 7.30 and were told our meals would be quick as we were the last booking. We waited 50 minutes! After half an hour I asked the waitress where our drinks were. She then told me she’d forgotten to place our order. It then took another 20 minutes before anything arrived. Given that we paid $10! Yes $10 for some bread, the least they could have done was given us this on the house. Poor, poor service. Very badly managed and organised. We won’t be going back.
Very busy and noisy, but food arrived promptly and was very enjoyable. Service was pleasant and efficient.
Great service, nice food, but the ambiance is a bit bland.
Two people- we enjoyed a glass of wine and a main meal . After that we were ignored by the staff (a male and a female) who preferred to chat to each other. We were not offered the dessert menu or coffee.
Not a good reflection on the hotel!
Best vegan dinner on the peninsula, great options, awesome chips & the vegan cheese was amazing
The service and friendliness of the staff was outstanding. The only thing that disappointed me was when my main meal arrived and was stone cold. The staff bent over backwards to remedy the situation.
Excellent food for country hotel with good service. Ambience good but probably very good in summer
Fish of the day was the best dish, my husband would not stop talked about it. The vegie dish called "From the Farm" was the winner for me
Was really disappointed with the venue and meal it’s self. Didn’t think you could ruin a chicken Parma but evidently you can! No flavour to the meal, couldn’t taste the ham or tomato sauce. The aoli had been sitting on our plates well before the meal was served as it had a skin on it. The slaw that was served with it was just sliced cabbage no dressing. Our reservation was at 7.30 we had left by 8 due to poor food didnt want to get desert I case that was bad too!
Our group loved the great food and will return again in summer only.
The experience was somewhat diminished by the icy gale when doors are opened.
We were sat next to the fire which was great, but automatic door kept opening which led to cold draft entering the restaurant every time person enters :(
The waitress was very friendly and helpful.
The food was good and the wine and beer also good, will come again
Clean and bright venue suitable for couples and families looking for pub quality and value meals.
Service was quick and friendly.
I could not fault the food or service, everything we ate was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was very accomodating and so friendly
Food is always yummy, quick service, chef made special dish for our kids, also they have a kids menu and when we went on school holidays kids ate free
Been several time before and alway reliable. However, Saturday before this review was not great at all, far below their best work.
Delicious as always. The fish of the day was very tasty. My husband had the beef cheek which was tender and really well presented.
Enjoyed the food and ambience. Service was spot on.
They had packed in the tables, and the service as a result was poor. The food was pretty good, but not special. I think they need to provide a more considerate experience for customers.
Lovely staff who are very attentive and the food is delicious
A lunch for 2.
Food and service were great! Prices were higher than the usual “pub” meal, but really nice.
Oversauced duck on uncooked quinoa.
My son enjoyed the burger.
The chicken Parma was disapponting and the coleslaw bitter.
Double jackpot, allocated a table adjacent to the toilets and the automatic doors. Blasted by a freezing cold wind every time the inner door opened because the outer door is left open. Constant stream of traffic in and around our table by people wanting to relieve themselves which triggered the doors. Asked to be moved out of the draught only to be offered another with the same problem.
High quality food, great value for money
Payed $80 for a burger, a parma and afew beers. Service was excellent but food was over priced and wasnt that tasty.
Pritty disappointed really considering the price
Two excellently produced meals were presented to us by friendly staff. The seafood tagliatelle was made with fresh seafood and tasted delicious served with a selection of home made rolls, oil and dukkah. The other meal, the burger was a large and thick patty served with chunky, crispy chips. Both cooked to perfection. The only reason I didn’t give five stars for ambiance was because when the door opened the cold air came in. But it was a very cold evening when we dined. I missed the Oyster special as I didn’t see the special menu nor was it pointed out, but honestly glad as I wouldn’t have had any room.
Service was hopeless - 2 staff for the entire restaurant , no bar staff - requested near open fire in reservation , were no where even near it - food was pretty good , but frustrating night .
I was slightly disappointed as I expected it to be more a restaurant rather than the hotel bistro, the food was exceptional however and we had a enjoyable evening.
Good venue, we all enjoyed the food and service will be going back again.
No vegan options and did not even attempt to assist with an option from the kitchen. Told the menu is the menu and that’s it.
Failed to deduct “free drink” deal with the parma.
On the 9/7 we arttended for a drink only. When we returned the house champagne because it was flat, the bar tender was great about it but manager made us feel like it was our fault and in the end my wife was apologising.
Great food but service very ordinary.
My daughter and I had the pleasure of dining at The Deck at Flinders Hotel earlier in the week, and we had a fabulous time! The meals were outstanding! We had the calamari to start and then I had the Roasted Barramundi and she had the Beef Cheeks. Both meals were absolutely devine! It's a lovely restaurant and with the roaring fire, it was nice and cosy. The staff were very informative and also very attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Many Thanks to the Staff and the Chefs at The Deck! Next time we are in Flinders, we will definitely return.
Staff were very friendly and easy to talk to.
Did not have to wait long between courses.
Great atmosphere.
Definitely want to come back.
Excellent meal, all staff where friendly in particular the French accent lady thank you
The staff at The Dock are very friendly and the food that we ordered was very tasty, but the staff lack a lot of attention to detail and made many mistakes both during our service and the service of other tables while we were seated for dinner (e.g. two groups of two were walked past and ignored while waiting for a table, another table with a broken wine class wasn't noticed by staff for a considerable amount of time, some of the drinks on our table had to be asked for a second time while bar staff were cleaning glasses and sorting cutlery). There is a lot of potential for service here to be amazing, but I would only recommend this restaurant if you don't mind waiting for, well, anything to happen here.
The food was incredible! I only wish there was more variety on the menu.
Brightly lit, undercooked food and expensive. Disappointing and discussed as a family to not visit again for a while.
The wait staff who served us was very attentive and friendly. Meals and drinks were served quickly despite the busy long weekend. Steak was cooked well and donuts were tasty. Overall a decent pub style meal.
Food was ok, but too expensive for pub grub and atmosphere. Not recommended for couples on weekends. Atmosphere more family oriented.
Hi, food was okay. Burger a bit on the small side for $$. Very tasty though.
Fabulous service, great food, great location.
Thanks for looking after us.
