Good service from the waitress. The prawns in the starter were still icy with no sauce but apart from that the food was very good. Meat pie portion was quite small though

Think we must have caught the cook on an off day - booked on recomendation
All issues were addressed , so would be unfair to leave a negative review as staff tried hard to right things
Will try again at a later date as feel it may be better

On arrival they didn't have us booked in very disappointing as I booked on the internet. We then had to wait 40 minutes for a table .

This was the first time we had been here. I will definitely be visiting again. The service was fantastic despite being a little early for our table. Didn’t have to wait for anything. We all went for the roast lunch option which has to be one of the tastiest i’ve Eaten out. Was excellent value for money.

Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch, food was good, atmosphere was good. Just the service seemed like hard work, we had to draw the attention of waitress a few times, a little attentiveness would have improved things and maybe not all standing together at one end chatting. This is only minor and I wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend.

Parking may not always be easy and may need a little perseverance.

The staff were quite friendly and helpful. The dining area was medium sized by the windows with a partial view of the waterway and the bridge.

It was pretty quiet and relaxed for around 7pm on a Friday but became more busier an hour and a half later.

We had an opportunity to sample the beers they had on tap that evening with some decent sized sample glasses.

The food on the specials board looked interesting and and there were some decent options in the main menu. The food was good, well prepared and straightforward. It could have perhaps been a bit more imaginatively put together and with nicer ingredients, but tasted fine. The puddings were also good.

It was a satisfying place to have a chat and had a relaxed vibe to it.

4 of us and we had a sharing starter which was really nice. Good selection of main meals, I had the steak which was cooked well. Good size portions and the service was good, especially as the guy was also serving behind the main bar.
Happy to recommend as a good value meal and would happily eat there again
