The Crafers Hotel
The hotels extensive wine cellar and craft beer list ensure something for all tastes and budgets.
Our bistro offers full table service.
Very enjoyable dinner. Good food and good service.
Service was poor we waited well over 20 mins before we were attended for drinks after we called for service.
Our once ordered took over an 1 & 1/2 hrs to be served.
The meal when we got it was excellent
Felt let done by the service
We had deliciuos food and found it hard to choose from the extensive French inspired menu. The young member of our group chose a pub favorite which she rated highly too. Attentive and prompt service. We will be back.
The atmosphere and staff we brilliant; only too happy to please. It was unfortunate that our menu choice turned out to be disappointing which tainted our overall rating. With all that said, we will go back for lunch giving the kitchen another chance.
Super spot. Great quality food and just the best setting. Super staff and overall a wonderful time.
There were a lot of different staff serving us, it's nicer when there is just 1-2 people watching the table. One round of drinks was completely forgotten. Staff were very apoligetic, but were run off there feet.
Loved our evening will definitely be back
Excellent menu and wine list and staff are very friendly. Definitely come back on a regular basis, perhaps tables could be slightly more separated as may help with ambience and noise levels. Great venue.
First time we had been to the Crafers Hotel for a meal, 2 others joined me (1 from England),
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, very efficient. Loved the ambience of the establishment.
The meals were outstanding. We were all very impressed. We will definitely be back and recommend to others (actually I alraedy have). Thank you for a lovely experience. Kind regards Theresa Campbell
As before on our visits the noise levels in the restaurant are such that people have to raise their voices to be heard by friends on the same table, a shame as there are many ways in which the area could be made a “quieter” environment.
Excellent food, wine list and fantastic table service. A must to visit.
We have loved the hotel food for a long time, but this visit was not up to the usual standard unfortunately. The veggie burger wasn’t great and served with mushrooms that were stone cold from the fridge and the blueberry and apple pudding was tasteless. The waitress was lovely and very attentive.
The service was wonderful. We complained about the food, which was not good, and those serving were very apologetic and seemed legitimately dismayed that we were not having a good time.
Our food woes: we both ordered the duck breast and when it arrived we received the equivalent of less than half a duck breast each. We thought this was unacceptable for the price we were paying ($30) so we complained, only for the staff to give us the feedback from the kitchen that we each had a duck breast each. A duckling breast, maybe. Being lied to by the kitchen only annoyed us more. The duck itself was overcooked, which didn't help. The vegetables served were dull and the sauce tasted of very little.
We were offered a free dessert as compensation for the poor food but we turned it down, given that we had no confidence in the kitchen.
A very disappointing experience.
Excellent food and service. Relaxed atmosphere. Excellent wine list both local and European
We have now been to The Crafers Hotel on two occasions (would go more often but we live in Tea Tree Gully) and have absolutely loved it both times - the food is exceptional and quite by chance both times we were seated next to an open fire - I love an open fire.
Thank you Crafers Hotel, you do it so well!
It was a quiet Saturday -grand final day - which we all appreciated. We're going deaf. Excellent service, glasses already on the table, plenty of water topped up. Food came out together. And we love the big windows, high ceilings and inventive decor.
We love the Crafers. The online booking worked well which ws a relief. The food was timely and the waiting staff were delighful. Looking forward to visiting again.
We often do recommend the Crafers Hotel to friends. We live a 5 minute walk fro the hotel and feel lucky that our local is the best hotel in the hills, possibly all Adelaide.
Delicious French inspired food with an excellent cellar.
Enjoyed a lovely Wednesday night dinner with friends. Food was amazing, a very enjoyable evening. Will definitely be going back.
locationgood with adequate parking for midweek lunch
Atentive staff, courses not delayed, drinks supplied as emptied without fuss
"energetic" customers at full house lively conversations
Food varied and supplied as requested
No fuss for slow eaters, no impatiernce shown for late finishing of full meals as our table was last to leave
Lovely staff and good food. Surprisingly busy for a Monday night.
Crafers Hotel is a beautifully renovated venue with great food and service. Would definitely go back!
Had heard a lot about this place and was anxious to give it a try. We were not dissapointing. A great ambience unlike othe hotels. Food was fantastic. My daughter had the seafood chowder and I had the lamb rump. The rump was cooked perfectly and was melt in your mouth. The service was unpretentious but all all staff made us feel wanted and at home. Will definitely be returning soon.
Excellent service and great food. Attractive space for eating but as with most restaurants quite noisy. The stone surfaces look lovely but it is a very "hard" space sonically. Great wine and beer list. I appreciated the availability of a gluten free beer
The waitress we had at the beginning was exceptional -- so helpful and nothing too much trouble. which was great as we had a 92 year old in a wheel chair - really the whole experience was terrific.
One of the best pubs in Adelaide. Fantastic beer selection.
Steaks were a little tough, especially for fillets. Other than that, everything was superb.
We enjoyed the comfortable ambience of the dining room by the open log fire.
The barramundi was cooked to perfection, presented atop a delicious puree. The salad accompaniment was exquisite and tasty.
It may have been an off night but the sommelier .....wasted wage IMO.....was indifferent at best and we watched her slap a glass of wine and be dismissive at another table too. The actual waiting staff were lovely but seemed a bit afraid of the wine waiter & my other party witnessed an apparent altercation between the staff as she arrived at the table. Maybe that explained it but people, be professional & leave your emotions out of food and drink service please, don't take it out on the patrons! I've eaten here before and it was good but overpriced for what we got. This time the food was - like the sommelier - indifferent.
Great renovation, really relaxed atmosphere, staff friendly and helpful, Beef Cheeks in red wine were delicious. Went on Tuesday night and it was full so definitely recommend booking.
Service was fantastic and the staff where proactively accommodating :)
We had a great mid week lunch in beaut window adjent booth. Staff were attentive and knowledgable particularly wine waiter/somelier. Outstanding/astounding wine room.
All round, a great day out as recommended by 2 other friend sd who had had recently enjoyed similar experiences.
Interior decor particularly good - classy but not pretentious. (Albeit an obvious quick ceiling repair needed to be finished off to standard of rest.)
Been before was great.
This time terrible. Gave our entries to the table next door had to wait for them to be remade. They ordered a wrong main had nearly finished other mains when correct main arrived. When the duck arrived it was rubbery as though cooked in a microwave and had not been rested. Kids cheese burger was singed like charcoal and there was no cheese at all.
All the food was well under seasoned.
They did try to recover the service but it was too late. They did go out of their way to rectify their mistakes.
Doubtful we will return which is a shame.
Was so happy to see the wonderful Becky working at The Crafers Hotel. Her smile and gorgeous personality were shining when we visited.
It was our first time and we were seated in a great spot next to the fire. We didn’t have to wait long for our food and it was very nice indeed.
Thanks for a great experience Crafers Hotel (and Becky of course).
The welcome was great, the table setting comfortable, the service was excellent, the wine list outstanding (although a little on the 'pricey' side). The quality of food was good, however only 5 pieces of lamb for $30 + was rather disappointing whilst the batter on the Flathead was too thick and very oily. Overall we really enjoyed the evening and will be back again.
The Crafers is a great place for a relaxed lunch with friends. It had a warm feel on a cold day in winter. The food was very tasty, including the vegetables that accompanied the main dish. The service could not be faulted and the selection of foods quite wide. Also, an interesting selection of drinks, especially beers.
An excellent venue, great service with really friendly staff and fantastic food. We’ll certainly be back
Unfortunately I got a small cut on my ring finger left hand from the under plate of my Steak I ordered. I told the waitress and she said she would pass it onto the Supervisor but it no avail. Was disappointed.
Service was excellent, all food was amazing and the steak was sensational and so was the selection of wines!
