The Conway has a traditional bar area, a living room style dining room and cosy fireside sofas. It’s a small venue with social distancing challenges, but we’re making it work. There is a small outdoor seating area at the front, great for outside urban eating and drinking and anticipated to be even more popular during current restrictions. The blackboard menu offers classic pub favourites, daily seasonal specials, mixed in with our chef’s own quirky dishes, whilst the bar serves a selection of guest ales and a great wine list that is available by the bottle and glass.
The Conway will open at 4pm Monday to Friday whilst we adjust to new operational procedures. We’re open all weekend as usual, of course.
- Surfaces sanitised between seatings
- Common areas deep cleaned daily
- Digital, disposable or sanitised menu provided
- Sanitiser or wipes provided for customers
- Contactless payment available
- Limited number of seated diners
- Distancing maintained in common areas
- Extra space between tables
- Waiting staff wear masks
- Sick staff prohibited in the workplace
Having had a lovely time at this pub before we were looking forward to the evening. Sadly it was all a little disappointing. The service was slow, the food took almost an hour to come out, and both meals were too salty. It then took about 15minutes to pay. It’s a shame and I’m sure just an off day but it wasn’t a great evening.
My fiance and I have been to the Conway few times and it is always a pleasure to come back.
The food is just incredible and the staff is always nice and attentive.
As I am new to my gluten free allergy I was worried I was not going to eat much, but I was so pleased they had a lot of GF options!!! I was so happy for it!!!
We will back soon!
Great food well cooked took care as we had 2 people in the party with allergies. Happily return
Food was delicious, service was great, had a wonderful time. Sat inside and it felt safe as the tables were well spaced out and staff we’re wearing masks.
Great pub but really needs to invest in a decent chef who knows how to make things from scratch and not just know how to cook steak. The menu looks great but the execution is far from it.
Excellent staff, as always and a wide range of fish, meat & veg options. Tasty food & nice Fizz Friday offer on Prosecco.
- Dad would have just loved a bigger mushroom with his steak(!)
Really disappointed. The Conway has always allowed dogs and we have been regular customers there for years . I booked a table Friday and bought the dogs. We were turned away as we were told dogs weren't allowed inside because of covid. Really disappointed. Won't be booking there again.
A lovely evening spent with old friends made even better by the great food and impeccable service. Thanks Llew for your efforts in getting a taxi for us. We’ll be back!
Really enjoy The Conway The food is lovely but didn’t eat on this occasion
Good choice of beers
Red wine is expensive by the bottle but nice ..
Kelvin and Staff are very friendly and accommodating always make you feel welcome .
The staff are brilliant, especially Kelvin. The atmosphere is really nice too with a nice mix of people.
We had a lovely time at the Conway Pub/restaurant. The food was lovely and the Staff were friendly and helpful.
Spacious but cosy with great food, will be returning
Fantastic service - friendly and attentive. Really lovely food too, we will be back!
Excellent food and couldn’t fault the service
The beer was great, Jemimers Pitchfork. Service was really good. Kept us topped up. Food was lovely and a bit different. All in a nice convivial and friendly atmosphere. COVID safe environment
Friendly and helpful staff
Fantastic service and great food
Outstandingly friendly and helpful staff. Chips were outstanding and the burgers good. Pleasantly quiet and peaceful feel, situated on a residential street.
If we are back in the area, would choose again.
Sunday 4-30 booking, 2 adults: Chose dishes from the Sunday roast menu.
Interesting and tasty water melon 'steak', that came with all 'trimmings'. Unfortunately the roast potatoes were so overcooked I couldn't cut through them without effort, the veg was -two tiny charred parsnips and carrots, cold broccoli spears.
The hake with herby mash - again the potatoes were cold. Only apple tart or ice cream remaining on the desert menu!
Drinks menu with information about the draught beers would have been helpful but the overall experience was fab. Would definitely book again.
First time trying here, loved it and will be back!!
Waited 15 min to be seated despite having booked. Waited ages to be offered a drink and have our order taken, but the waiter was then very apologetic and offered us free drinks. Things then improved and starters and main course were served promptly and were very tasty. Unfortunately we then had a long wait to get a dessert menu and a long wait to have our order taken. By then we were very fed up. Our waiter said they were short staffed and was running around doing everything from taking orders to getting drinks and serving food whilst other members of staff were hanging around apparently not doing much. I think our waiter was badly let down by his colleagues.
Great, as always! Still a happy customer after 20 years
Lovely and cosy. Food was delicious. Service was excellent
Lovely to be able to eat indoors again. The fish and chips were delicious - and portion just right.
Very enjoyable meal. Friendly service, Good to be back
We ordered our food at around 7.45pm. An hour later or main courses arrived - we hadn’t been served our starters. So main courses went back to the kitchen. About 15 mins later our starters arrived and our main courses arrived around 9. Waitress was polite if a little giggly and knocked off our cheapest round of drinks by way of an apology. At the very least the manager should have come to our table to check and apologise. Not impressed.
Fish and Chips for both of us- delicious Nice Nice pudding too although portion small
Wine rather expensive an ordinarily white set us back £24 a bit steep we thought
Lovely service and attractive venue
We had an excellent visit. The food was delicious and the service excellent. Would highly recommend.
Delicious lunch with friends! Loved the halloumi chips. Great fish and chips. Excellent service. Thanks!
Arrived for drinks at 8, the pub was quieter than usual, seems like people are a bit nervous about going out maybe? The staff were really amazing, made us welcome, and for the first time in my life a barman approached and asked if I wanted another drink. I love the Conway, everything about it!
Excellent real ales and wines. Service so friendly and helpful. Covid safety well operated without being a problem. Excellent quality food and without being overpriced.
Tasty pub grub, great ale, great service, easy to book.
Didn’t have food because the chef wasn’t in because of covid. Drinks were pricey but the pub was nice :)
Great good great atmosphere
Wonderful, friendly staff and excellent food. Can’t wait to visit again soon!
friendly and relaxed place to have a beer. Not had a meal in a while but it was very good back then.
Some time since we have visited the Conway and what a pleasure. Despite COVID a welcoming atmosphere and food was excellent. Cannot wait for lockdown in Wales to be lifted once again!
The Conway did their utmost to make us feel welcome despite all Covid difficulties. Thanks to the staff.
They made a dish which was not on the menu for my husband who is gluten free. Although it was a bit on the expensive side in comparison with other dishes on offer, it was delicious.
They definitely need support going into this next period with tighter restrictions. We were told that they were intending to remain open.
As good as ever. The staff seem a lot more cheerful than pre-lockdown, and the whole atmosphere much more welcoming. Good anti-COVID measures too. Didn't eat-we were there for the regular Sunday quiz, which, thanks to Quiz Maestro Mr Steve DaSilva, was as much fun as ever- but it was nice to have a few proper beers in good company.
