A Croatian-inspired Community Club brings good times back to Concord. The Croatian Club in Sydney has been a vibrant community club for Australian Croatian Families since 1951. Originally founded in Surry Hills then moved to Marrickville in 1972 and in 1983 relocated to the old Sundowner at Punchbowl. The Club has now secured premises in Concord – the former RSL Club with a rich history and local community of its own. The new Concord Community Club, or simply “The Concord” is the latest incarnation in the geographic heart of Sydney close to the shores of the Parramatta River.

Great place for family dinner, hard to get reservation, we booked 2 months in advance just in case and glad we did as they were turning people without a booking away on the night. Food came out fast, it was nice, tasty, warm and plentiful. Deserts were just as good! We wished we got a table inside though as the outside was really really noisy and we had to yell to talk even just across the small table, but the place was so full, that they could not switch our table on the night. It was also really hard to hear beautiful Croatian music that was playing in the background. While the food came out quickly, the plates were not cleaned up in a timely manner, we ended up taking them back to the kitchen ourselves as we had no room for our deserts on the small outside tables. They definitely need more staff cleaning up the tables more frequently. I understand though that the place just opened up, so it might take some time to smooth out some things and get the place running a bit better. Prices were a bit on a high end, especially for a portion of the entre flatbread which was $11 just for 1. It would be way more acceptable to get 2 for that price. And even though it was prepared in house, the bread was too thick and not as soft for the burger style meals. But the meat and steaks were great quality. There's a great playground for kids, which is spacious and enclosed, so great to have little ones run around a bit after they've filled their tummies;). All in all, we would definitely come back again to explore what else they have on offer!

Great ambiance on a Monday Night… with a table of guests that want to talk… looks like bedlam on a Friday Night when I dropped in to buy my membership… Food is good value for money… obviously typical Croatian Food which looked unappealing in appearance but was very tasty… I was disappointed when my $18 Chocolate Torte dessert arrived with the wrong ice cream, should have been hazelnut not vanilla… ran out? Really!!?? Poor form especially when I asked the Cashier to check if there was definitely hazelnut ice cream… Will go again.

Had a booking but on arrival, there was no host to get the group seated. Instead, I had to wait in a queue of 15 people just to speak with a staff member. When the staff member at the orders cashier flagged down someone to assist, I showed my reservation and was informed that my reservation didn't come through. My group were left waiting around for a table. This experience was terrible. Management need to get organised and take accountability. Very dysfunctional establishment.

When we first visit the club the food was very good I invited my daughter for meal unfortunately the rump steak and salad we ordered Was terrible I would recommend the club to a friend because the food was really good Not sure what happened last Friday The meat was chewy the potato uncooked properly

Was looking forward to having lunch here with my family of 10 on Sun but was left a little disappointed. The club itself looks great. It has been built well indoors and out. It has a great outdoor area with a playground for kids and a grass area. The service, food quality and food choice let it down. Firstly I noticed there were no veges on the sides menu or salads apart from cabbage salad which was strange. No garlic bread or garlic pizza which are generally bistro staples.Very little vegetarian or gluten free options. Understandably the club has only been open for a few weeks and was packed with people so the queue to order was long and took about 20mins to order. Our entrees came within about 30mins and mains about an hour later however 3 people on our table ordered pizzas which took 2 and 1/2 hours which was ridiculous. The rest of the table had finished their meals and they had not even got theirs yet. Not sure why it took so long and it wasn’t only our table as people were getting very annoyed and angry around the outdoor pizza area for waiting so long. The food quality was ok…nothing special just like eating at home really. Food presentation was not good and needs improvement. The floor staff are very slow to clear tables ( they were taking 1 glass or plate at a time then not returning to clear the rest of the table) and clearly lack hospitality experience as do some of the other staff. This place has potential. With better menus, better service and more staff training it would improve greatly. I would probably wait a few months before returning to see if the make any changes.

Great experience for a booking of 30 people sitting in the alfresco area. Arrived at 11.30, good to get in early as the line for orders was getting long. Got buzzed within 30mins for us to pick up our food. It was delicious and well presented, we got ham/mushroom pizza, cevapi dish & schnitzel dish. Being a new place, its packed with people, not for a quiet meal. The club itself is beautiful.
