Lovely place. Brings back memories from many moons ago watching bands in the hall.
The food that we had was great but there weren't enough options.
It was such a wonderful night, the entertainment was superb.
AMAZING SHOW! What a fabulous, celebratory, entertaining and exciting live Cabaret! Had an absolute ball! We loved having some champagne as part of the ticket at the show. My daughter was one of the dancers so it was a very special night! If she has the amazing opportunity to perform in any more shows we would all come in droves!!!
Beautiful restaurant and outstanding service!
The food was absolutely delicious!
The only small negative thing we can say about one dish was about the Barramundi. It was delicious!!!!! But it was too small for a main meal- probably should have another component. My friend had to order an entree after the fish as she was still hungry. Otherwise all food was YUMMY 😊
Always great service and food!! Amazing Cabaret nights!
A great seasonal menu that isn't too overwhelming with choice. Lovely staff with attentive service, great drinks and gorgeous ambience. Will definitely be back for both casual and dressier dining!
This is the 3rd time I have visited and this time completely lacked something - cocktails where great tho !
The app is continuing to be disappointing with additional fees to order from our table you should either get rid of it or consider building the extra 27cents per item into the overall cost - if the app worked better then that would have compensated for the LACK of service and the fact that every time we wanted something we had to physically get up and look for staff to help us -
We travelled from over 1 hour away and the chaos with parking and accessing the venue would make us rethink when or if we should come back ! Yes the last 2 times did not seem so frantic even a pre warning with the booking mat gave sheeted is to this snd we would have left earlier
Very underwhelming generally
Great venue , however we were very disappointed with the food choices.
Delicious food, gorgeous surroundings & amazing service from welcoming to table service.
Dogs should not be allowed inside the conservatory area when others are dining. Our table along with many other tables were surprised & uncomfortable that this was allowed. It’s inconsiderate of others. Leave the dogs in the outside garden area.
Service, setting and food was good. Great fit out and friendly staff.
service was very slow. plates stayed on table for 15 minutes and eventually had to ask to have them removed.
Awesome place with such a funky style. Food was delish and the staff were super friendly. Highly recommended.
Unfortunately we were pushed up and seated right next to another table (our chairs were touching, it was awkward) and to the other side of us was the play equipment car for children which was right at the back of my dads seat. It was an extremely uncomfortable lunch as parents were moving around our table and constantly knocking into and apologising to us, there were lots of empty tables that didn't have screaming kids next to them. We love kids, but for a mother's day lunch where we were spending hundreds it really was such a let down. We sort of had a mutual laugh with the table next to us of how bad it was after we kept having to apologise and ask one another to move their seats when we wanted to get up.
We all felt really uncomfortable and unfortunately I will be getting my friends to cancel our upcoming bookings for birthdays as it was just a weird negative experience.
This place has so much potential yet seems disorganised in how it's run and managed. In my opinion there is a lack of control and direction on the 'floor'.
The ambience and decor is really good and an enjoyable place for lunch.
It's a good place that could be great with some changes.
Food took forever to arrive. Over it when the food finally arrived. Wife def not impressed on her Mother’s Day.
We had a lovely day celebrating Mother’s Day. All the staff were so friendly so the service here was fabulous but the kitchen getting food out was extremely slow. We waited an hour for our food to arrive. That said - they kindly came around with a glass of Mumm Champagne to apologise to their guests which we thought was so lovely and made up for it! Thanks for having us!
The service was spasmodic. The waitperson didn’t know the Pinot Gris was from N.Z. Lunch orders were incorrect. BUT the piece de resistance were the tacky containers in which the fries were served cold, I couldn’t believe my eyes. A very disappointing experience overall. Will not be recommending.
We had a lovely Mother’s Day, great food lovely out in the beer garden. I found it very odd that some staff when I asked how are you gave? “ guess I’m ok” “ not great” as a response. Prob the stress of the day. But it makes it awkward- otherwise loved it 😊👌🏼
We sat inside where there no ambience and it was freezing, it was warmer outside. Outside looked lovely. My daughter ordered desert and waited over 20 minutes and then was told the kitchen was too busy!
Food as always was delicious - but we were inside which lacked atmosphere! Especially with booking so far out we would have appreciated knowing we wouldn't be seated outside.
This is a lovely venue. Visually beautiful with great food and service. Will definitely return.
It was ok but have to say the food and drink wasn’t overly exciting and it lacked range. Kids menu was ho-hum too.
And the service was just ok too.
The outside area is beautiful.
I think we just expected more from these guys but it was kind of mediocre unfortunately.
Whilst we were so hyped to visit this place, we found it a little underwhelming. The menu was quite limited, and the ambiance, even on Mothers Day with quite a full venue, the ambiance still wasn't quite where I wanted it to be.
It was very instagrammable though. The venue, not the food. Would try again with a group of friends in summer, but not rushing to get back.
What a lovely venue...just a shame about the service. I can't ever remember working so hard to get service. We were seated and after 15 minutes had to ask to order a drink and get some menus. We then ordered our mains after a discussion with the waitress about the signature dishes on the menu. We forgot to order chips so placed the order with another waitress as catching the eye of our waitress was impossible. Our chips arrived and our original waitress who we placed our mains order with then came over and asked if wanted to order our mains. By this stage we had consumed all the chips. We explained politely to her that she took our order, after having a discussion about the menu and that she forgot. She followed up our order (which i think she hadn't placed with the kitchen) and told us it was going to be "rushed" through. Lucky us. We then order Lemon meringue dessert and a red velvet dessert turned up. Distinctively different desserts. We then told her we didn't order that dessert. She took it away then brought it back and told us it was red velvet cake and we ordered the Lemon Meringue which we agreed with and would like it to be swapped. We asked for our bill and asked a waiter to process it as our waitress was missing. We mentioned the terrible service and he removed the cost of our 2 coffees. I must say I am extremely disappointed as it was my treat for my girlfriends birthday and it was a battle to say the least. Not cheap and the day was totally ruined by the service. Food was lovely, service appalling.
Lovely ambience and decor . A bit noisy inside . Lovely to be outside on a nice day doggie friendly too !
I think the outside looks really nice. It looks like the Grounds in Sydney. It would be nice if there were little stalls like the grounds have where you can buy flowers, fruit, donuts etc.
Beautiful venue for a girly lunch and or drinks!!!
Beautiful setting in the heart of Melbourne. Made me feel as if I'd escaped on an overseas holiday somewhere lovely and slightly exotic. The food was good, small sample selection of dishes made well but really, I will be going back for the mood.
Why do they turn the lights down so dark you can’t see your food after 8pm????
Beautiful venue with great ambience. We were fortunate to have a lovely autumn day to enjoy the outdoor seating. The food and drinks were beautifully presented and tasty and the service was attentive without being intrusive. I would recommend booking as they are quite busy. Highly recommended.
The service was outstanding! The food was the best and the surrounding was lovely too.
Absolutely love the ambience and warm service we got at The Commons. We celebrated our daughter’s birthday and we love the special touch on the dessert. Most of all, thank you for also making it dog friendly so our dog could join us. We love to be back again!
Love The Commons, great atmosphere, great food and lovely drinks .... recommend
I was super excited to come here whilst visiting from Sydney, as I know one of the owners of the ground. One waitress asked us midway through our meal to move seats because they decided to seat someone with a bigger dog next to us with our small dog. This caused the two dogs to bark at each other and made my pup uncomfortable. Instead of seating them away from us, she asked if we would like to move after we had been there for a while and had began to eat already. Super unprofessional. This was upsetting, because the rest of the waitstaff were super lovely & so were the baristas. Food was great and the premises is beautiful. I would come back here, but I recommend these incidents don’t happen again and they particular staff learn to manage the floor better. If someone is seated first, they should not be expected to move. It made us feel a little less important than others, and in hospitality that is how you can potentially lose business.
Vicki provided first class service along with a warm and friendly demeanour. The gardens, lighting and resultant ambience was just delightful and the food was tasty. A highly enjoyable experience.
Such a nice atmosphere, great food!!
The Commons at Ormond Collective was relaxing and had amazing food. Service was impeccable and the staff were friendly and attentive. The aesthetics of the place was also refreshing and relaxing. Would highly recommend!
The dinning room was cold even though it was winter (not enough heating). Music was right above the dining table and very loud. Had to ask twice to turn it down.
The meal was nice but the service can be improved.
The environment is so good.
The venue's design is perfect.
But the service is too bad.
The plates are not clean.
Food is not good either. The chicken and fish are so dry.
