Tasty tapas style spicy food with great service.
Friendly service and delicious food, relaxed atmosphere. Food really good value.
The food is so fresh and tasty I'm a little glad the restaurant is far away from me or I'd be there all the time. Well worth a visit, service is great and it's kind to the purse strings as well.
Really great food, good service. Would definitely come back.
Excellent meal but we did have to wait an hour for our food, which when it arrived was not what we ordered, despite having been repeatedly assured it was imminent. That being said, the manager comped our meal which was appreciated. We will return, perhaps not for dinner on a Saturday night though!
A little bit different the service was excellent. Very tasty food at a reasonable price
Truly amazing food with such a vibrant, relaxed and friendly atmosphere- the second you walk in you are greeted with the kind of aromas that are worthy of the title “Sri Lanka street food” and the staff are incredibly friendly. First time there but definitely won’t be our last- you MUST go!
Great authentic Sri Lankan/South Indian food good service (thanks Zak) excellent value
Great food, quick and friendly service and a fun relaxed atmosphere.
Staff were great and helped steer us through the menu as this was our first visit. Food was great (especially the black pork and the cuttlefish!), plenty of drinks options available and we’ll definitely be going back!
authentic, warm, spicy sri-lankan cuisine experience with friends was sold and was expected. Disappointment on every count. Burnt chicken curries, bland goat/black pig, disappointing squid. the highlight was a fried cuttlefish. the highly anticipated Hoppers were too thick and tasteless and the accompanying coconut sambol - a true Sri Lankan would not claim...and where was the Seeni sambol. the staff didn't even know what that was, when I asked where it was? I would not recommend my friends. Maybe Saturday night the chefs were off? I hope so, as Sri Lankan food is magnificent and this was so far off the mark. sorry to even write this review.
Food was burnt, roti was rock hard, seats were seriously uncomfortable. Interior decor ? What is that about !
Great food, great staff. Very enjoyable evening. Lots of choice for vegetarians.
Really lovely staff, amazing food and great value for money. Will definitely be coming back and have already recommended you to several friends :)
The food was great however we were put on a small table and our server forgot about us after we had our food. However a man names Jack was another server who was lovely and took puddings and wine off the bill as he noticed the poor service we had recieved.
Couldn’t hear what the waitress was saying. Super noisy. Food came in bursts but the rice came last so hot food is hotter without rice. Felt overwhelmed by the din and left for coffee elsewhere. Food was tasty but my mouth was burning and they did not have any yoghurt! Cheap but not a place to linger.
The food was great, but service was very poor. We waited for our order (drink or food) to be taken for over 30 minutes. When the food came they had forgotten half of our order. When we asked for the bill the waitress went to get the card machine and returned with dessert menus. Not good service
Fantastic meal as always. Slight hiccup when the second order for takeaway didn’t go through to the kitchen and it wasn’t noticed for 30 minutes when we were ready to leave. They did sort my friend out with a free drink to compensate though.
Lovely food and Henry our server was super friendly and Great
First time trying Sri Lankan food. Loved it! We were recommended some fantastic dishes and all the staff were so friendly and energetic. Highly recommend this place!
Brilliant family meal for 6. Very impressed that staff sorted us out more suitable table for our needs. Cannot fault food which was all delicious. Only negative was the noise level. Background music very intrusive and causes diners to speak louder to make themselves heard. But five star meal. Thanks
Loved the food and the vibe. Very good value for money and great friendly service. The cocktails were excellent and the food outstanding.
Terrible service and food was over priced and not enjoyable
Cramped restaurant and poor, muddled service which was a real shame as the food for the most part was really nice.
Fantastic venue and food was incredible and really good value. Lovely staff
We took an early booking and it was busy even then, showing it’s popularity. The food was great, not as spicy as genuine Sri Lankan food but really tasty. Surprised that they ran out of 2 dishes before 7pm yet still tried to charge us - be careful on that one! All in all it is a basic and rustic setting but to get a large tapas meal and a drink for £20 per head is incredible value. The service was a bit hit and miss, not overly attentive but keen and polite when they did arrive. Definitely worth a visit and you probably will have to book in good time.
The food was incredible and I thoroughly enjoyed how authentic it tasted and the variety however, we found the service to be slow and that they were understaffed. Although the weather outside was warm, the temperature of the restaurant was so hot – I appreciate there are limited things you can do about this but I did joke with my partner that you had brought the heat and humidity of Sri Lanka to the restaurant to make it feel even more authentic. The drinks were good but the service was slow. Although the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and we could see that they loved working there and enjoyed their jobs, we were not provided with any menus upon arrival until we were seen too by the waitress which was some time after that. There also seemed to be a delay with the food. I don’t want this to be deemed as bad review because we would come back and have recommended it to our friends but we just felt the time and attention of the service was poor.
Great service, lovely food. Totally recommend the drunken Sri Lanka cocktail.
Fantastic food and service! After a 7 week trip to Sri Lanka last year, I can confirm they really do have the authenticity of the Sri Lankan food! 100% would recommend to friends
the place is very different, but in a good way, food came fast and tasty,a great concept and it had a genuine buzz , we loved it !!!! my only other comment is that we are in our mid 70s and we got it ; we understood the concept...but i suspect the ultra cool maitre d ' wasn't sure how to approach us.......
Fab food, fab music and fab people. This was our first visit and we’ll definitely be coming again. Such a lovely evening out to celebrate Father’s Day. Thank you!
Great tasting food with plenty of veggie options. Friendly staff. Good ambience. The food is tapas style so you get to taste many different flavours and set your meal size to your own needs.
My only gripe was that the online booking application was a bit buggy. Best to phone for a table.
Great food, and fantastic service!!!
Lovely atmosphere would recommend for family venue also.
Great atmosphere. Tasty and interesting food and tapas style meant you can try lots of different dishes. Service was friendly but efficient and the price was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend it but maybe not for a quiet romantic evening for two.
Messed up my order twice and the food was very slow to come even once they realised their mistake. However, the staff did give us some stuff on the house but it wasn’t sufficient compensation
Great food and friendly service but music far too loud and lively. Very difficult to talk and we left without having cocktails due to the music.
Great food and location. Let down by too small tables for sharing food and the noise level.
I read very positive reviews before coming. Did not live up to expectations. Food was okay but it was difficult to discern tastes between different dishes in some cases.
Service varied through the dinner. Sometimes it was v good. One waitress spilled the sauce from the dish over one of the group and on the jacket that we had to put on the floor - nowhere to hang anything.
Waited a good while for second round of drinks, then had to go to the bar to remind staff.
Prices were reasonable.
Based on this experience, I wouldn’t return or recommend.
Really amazing food. We went for the option of letting the servers choose and to say the amount was generous would be an understatement! Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing.
Nice atmosphere. Lovely young waiting staff. Devilled prawns disappointing overcooked and breaking down haedctofind among the onion and sauce. Cheese in a very similar sauce to the prawns so would like waiting staff to have warned us of this and not had both. 5Cs was good and fresh tasting. Fish hot pot a bit tough and dry. Red rice fine. Roti tasty. Okra not that special. Fish balls with ketchup very disappointing- something less dense with a more Sri Lankan dipping sauce would be better . Nice concept and good staff but menu needs improving to seem fresher and more balanced.
