This was without doubt, the best Indian cuisine that my partner and I have ever been served at any restaurant, with the dining experience being helped along by courteous and attentive staff. Beautiful surroundings also, combined with a calming atmosphere - I would recommend The Cinnamon Club to anyone with a taste for the exotic - just magnificent.

There was a problem somewhere! Service was generally too slow. A 35 minute wait between the first and second course leaves a lot to be desired. Food good.

We had a rocky service experience at first, which they then remedied. After that though, the starters were very mundane as was the sweet. The main dishes did however rise to the occasion.
I’d likely not return as there are other, equally compelling choices in London.

The best Indian food we have ever had coupled with attentive service (a handwritten card for my 21st birthday + a tasty cake - the waiter had no prior knowledge of this and only found out during the main course!). Not to mention the fantastic atmosphere in the beautiful book-lined dining room.

It was generally ok, though the fabric of the restaurant is getting tired and very much in need of a facelift.

What a shame this restaurant is going downhill. I have been a patron since it opened and last week was the worst meal I have eaten there and one of the worst dining experiences in a while, the aubergine started my husband ordered was simply revolting . There seems to be wasabi cropping up in unexpected places....it has no place in and indian cuisine. The octopus starter was chewy and my chicken over cooked and tough. The coup de grace was the run baba dessert ...which was nothing whatever like a rum baba...just a plain sponge with cream on top. Waiting staff were excellent but they could not make up for the poor food quality.

It was extremely thoughtful. They discretely acknowledged our wedding anniversary with a hand written card and special dessert.

We asked to sit beside each other rather than opposite in our reservation, and were delighted to have the only table for two where this was possible.

We have never had this attention before, where such information requested is always then ignored.

The setting is great and the food was extremely good, although not at the cutting edge of London Indian food right now, with a host of innovative options available. Sadly, though, the service was truly awful, not befitting the apparently outdated reputation of this venerable spot. The staff seemed harried and indifferent and was difficult to track down when we needed something. They failed entirely to bring one dish we ordered (and charges us for it) and gave us a fish dish rather than the curry prawns we ordered. The ordeal took well over three hours. Too many options to endure that experience again.

One of the best meals anywhere, ever. Our sommelier— from Italy— was unspeakably wonderful, and the wine list is very carefully superb. We enjoyed two bottles of excellent Bordeaux.

Anjou squab pigeon and Tandoori octopus to start. Both amazing. Venison and lamb for mains. There is not a better venison preparation on the planet. Period. I did not try the lamb, but my supper companion wanted to lick his plate. Salted caramel tarts for desert.

And there is not a better atmosphere for fine Indian cuisine. The room is pleasant and surprisingly quiet, even during the rush. In fact, the full room actually complimented the atmosphere (the photo below is after 11:00 p.m. We had been there for 4 hours).

The best summary I can offer is this: You won’t know unless you go. So make damned sure you go. The Cinnamon Club is that good.

Our second visit to The Cinnamon Club. The food is outstanding as is the service. The ambience is lovely. Situated in a former library, they have managed to incorporate the feel of a library into a modern day restaurant. The service is impeccable and the knowledgable staff is quick to answer any questions without being cloying or intrusive. The Cinnamon Club is on our "to do" list on every trip to London. Exquisite!

Excellent food, nicely presented. Staff attentive and meal served with little delay. Beer vastly overpriced, which detracted slightly from the overall experience. Still a lovely setting and the set lunch reasonable value for Central London.

Always a pleasure to eat at the Cinnamon Club. We had the lunch menu, plus a bottle of excellent Sicilian wine, which worked perfectly with the food. As ever, all the food was perfectly cooked and delicious, and the service was attentive without being obtrusive. Due to emergency road repairs we arrived 30 minutes late for the booking, and they kept the table open for us, even though the restaurant was nearly full when we arrived.

I’ve already provided you with feedback. Whilst the food at the restaurant couldn’t be faulted the table adjacent to us, which sat 8-10 people was so noisy my friend and I couldn’t continue some of our conversations.

We spent just shy of £160 excluding tip and it was disappointing to be sat beside alsuch a noisy table.very noisy table. The 2nd sitting comprised of all men and they just got louder as the night went on. Why do you have this seating arrangement?

It was not good value for money.

We booked in for the set menu at 6.30pm only to find out the offer was only until 6.30pm. They gave us a 5 min extn, so I was able to get choices off my friends stuck in traffic, and we were all able to enjoy the offer. We were all extremely grateful to the Cinnamon Club for this.

However the pre appetisers were brought out before the late comers arrived, the starter as soon as they arrived and the main as soon as the starter plates were removed, which was all a little rushed for our liking. We kept being asked if we wanted to order desserts by different staff, all of which were told we needed a bit of a break between courses. The second half of the meal was more relaxed and the staff got the message and backed off.

Having said all of the above the food is excellent, the service ok (too many staff asking the same questions) and I would return and recommend to others.

I booked the restaurant for a family dinner to celebrate my birthday. It got off to an underwhelming start when we were shown to a dingy, smelly basement bar with plastic seats and no atmosphere. No one checked on our progress, brought us menus or when we wanted our table.

The ambiance of the main restaurant is lovely but the menu is so limited we struggled to find anything we really liked. Service remained dreadful throughout the meal.

Conclusion; past it’s return date. At £100 per head it’s in a congested field of much superior restaurants. Either needs to step up or continue to rely on its tourist trade and lack of competition in the immediate area.

My wife and I came here for our Anniversary dinner. The food was fantastic - very well done classic Indian food, with some inventive twists. We also loved the interiors - an old library with books still lining the shelves, making for some fun browsing from your seat.

However, the service was disappointing. We ordered a (rather expensive) bottle of champagne, and it took a long time to arrive; then after pouring it and putting it on ice, we had to ask for our glasses to be refilled several times as they were left empty for a while. Moreover, there were longer gaps in between food courses; this was especially annoying at the last course, where our dirty dishes were left on the table for a long time before being cleared, and even then a few bits of rice were left on the table and never cleared at all.

At the end, the waiter brought over a lovely cake with "Happy Anniversary" written on it in chocolate (I had called ahead), and a card from the team. This was a great touch.

We'd recommend the restaurant for the food, but warn our friends to expect poor service. It would be nice if they were pleasantly surprised.

Would suggest bacon cooked less but appreciate personal choice.
