Simply the best omakase I have ever experienced. The food was to die for. Exquisite. And the chef was fun and entertaining.
Food was good and creative. However , it’s not traditional Japanese dishes. If you expect to have traditional Omakase (chef’s choices), you may be disappointed. Knowing it’s more like creative/fusion dishes as your expectations, you’d enjoy it.
Took my boyfriend here for chef's table, we were very satisfied and happy with the overall experience. The food was amazing, presentation was outstanding and service was considerate and professional. We discussed coming back again and do plan to. Thank you so much for this experience. It made our night

We did the chefs table at Kisume and it was just awesome! The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was lovely. The whole experience was stunning. The wagu beef and foie gras was out of this world!!
It was a beautiful experience. Every piece of sushi was lovingly made. I liked the innovative take. Some purists might frown on it, but this makes it special to Melbourne.
Girlfriend found this place on both Social Media and through adverts and such. We went while on a short weekend to Melbourne, and I will say, that the Omakase that they provide is amazing. The food on the night was a 19 course menu, each meal tasting unique from one another. All the food served on the night was prepared and made to eat in front of us. A very friendly as well as a very knowledgeable chef, providing an explanation for each meal prepared for us.
If you are after a fun dining experience with some fantastic Japanese Omakase, this is definitely the place to book and try out. The price for the dining experience was dear but I would say, the experience, the company as well as the great food is worth every cent.
I highly recommend this to those who are interested in a good Omakase experience and want to have a good evening out with partners/friends.
Food was good, however there were simply too many sushi dishes. Something like 13-15 of the total 19 dishes were sushi. Receiving hot or fried dishes were a godsend but then after straight back into the sushi.
Also too much wasabi was used, overpowering the flavors of the dish and it was used on at least half of all meals.
Too much used on singular dishes and overall throughout the night as a whole
Fabulous venue and a great experience. We did the chefs table with matching wines and it was all lovely. My only caveat would be to be aware that there’s a lot of sushi. I think we worked out that 14 of the 19 courses were sushi, had there been a bit more variety eg there was a broth and a small tart, I’d have given 5 stars across the board
ONE OF THE BEST FOOD EXPERIENCES I HAVE HAD! tHE QUALITY WAS AMAZING AND THE SERVICE WAS TOO. tHE ONLY COMMENTS I WILL MAKE IS THAT THE THEATRE THAT IS SHOWN IN THE INSTAGRAM VIDEOS WAS A BIT DIFFERENT TO THE ACTUAL THEATRE OF THE NIGHT. BUT NOT IN A BAD WEAY...
We were blown away by the food presentation and taste
Ate at the Chef's Table, omakase style. Was SUPER impressed by every single item. Mind blown. Would definitely recommend to anyone that loves Japanese cuisine to try this place. I've eaten at many 3 and 2 hat restaurants and this place takes number 1 on my list
There was a slight delay of 30 minutes before we were seated, however, once the Chef’s Table experience started, it was outstanding. The chef’s creativity really shines through.

Had a great experience. From service to food, everything was amazing. The only thing was we were celebrating our friend’s birthday and would be great if restaurant can organise a birthday celebration like wrtie a msg on the dessert plate and etc to be more memorable. Apart from that, everything was enjoyable.

The matching wine and/or sake was excellent (just misisng a big red).
The seating was a bit of fun with some interaction with other guests.
The evening consists of 19 delectable courses served by an entertaining chef to a private room of 12 guests over 3 hours. The food was creative, perfectly balanced, beautifully presented and will transcend you to culinary heaven. The Chef’s Table at Kisume has become my favourite restaurant and I will definitely be back multiple times!

Nice presentation of food by the chef in front of your eyes. Ingredients were careful plan to bring out its best flavour. Funky fusion Japanese meals full of surprises. Used quite a lot of local produce which is nice. Funny chef Lee continue to entertain his guess while preparing the dishes. Good option of wine and sake pairing . Reasonable price for wine pairing.

We loved our experience at The Table at Kuro Kisume. The chef was very personable and created a relaxed atmosphere. He prepared some really beautiful dishes and added theatre to many of the courses which added excitement. The food was all absolutely delicious, we loved every dish. The sommelier Kieran was excellent too. We was professional and knowledgeable and was very attentive and friendly. Maybe just slightly overpriced but only in comparison to other places like Attica. Needless to say we did really love Kisume though and would highly recommend it.

This is an amazing restaurant the philosophy of food is refreshing and definitely hits the mark.
My only criticism is that the service in the Chablis Bar was slow and made one feel a little uncomfortable.
However once at the chefs table everything was perfect.

Kuro Kisume's The Table was a fantastic experience. The set up, the food, the chef and the ambiance were all top notch. One of the best dining experiences I have had. Although more on the pricier side, the food did not disappoint and everyone has left content and satisfied.
Complete different experience to Minimishima however still retain some traditions of the Kaiseki idiom. Chef is highly knowledgeable in all the ingredients and methods used for cooking and not afraid to share them when asked.
