At The Bullroom we serve some great food that is casual, creative, and fun. From burgers to steaks, and ramen bowls to empenadas, you can keep it casual or a a bit more high brow. We feature nightly specials to keep it interesting .
As for drinks. We are serious about cocktails. And are focused on bringing you fantastic Craft made spirits, from around the corner and around the world. We make our own bitters, fresh grenadine and Juices in order to create unique cocktails that are No Bull! We have some great craft beer and wine as well.
The Bullroom is speakeasy style. So it might be a bit of a challenge to find. That's part of the fun. We are tucked away behind our parent restaurant, Nina. If you need help you can ask them and they'll give you the nod.
Great food , nice local batch liquors, and the ambiance just yells speak easy. Unfortunately they are closing at the end of the month.
21st bday. Good service. Food was good. Weekday not crowded. Lots of drink options.
I love the Bull Room. The cocktails are excellent, and the food is above average. They did a nice job with the New Years Eve dinner. However, it took an inordinate amount of time get our food, and I wish they’d decorated more and played 1920s music since their ad promised a “Roaring 20s party.” Finally, I don’t think the three courses alone were worth $70. A cocktail or glass of champagne or dessert thrown in would’ve made the value a 4.
Very cool ambiance, the bartender and waitresses were wonderful. Food was great, highly recommend.
We were there celebrating my fiancé’s six month win with pancreatic cancer for World Pancreatic Cancer day. The space is so unique and quaint, as is the food and the drinks. The mixologist was so awesome and a great host. It’s a nice hidden gem in our town, and I’m so happy to have found it. We loved everything about the restaurant. Small but awesome!!
Love the food, the ambiance, the service... but CANNOT recommend dining here during the winter. The venue is very small. At any other time, it's cozy. But in the winter, when the restaurant is so crowded that you're seated right by the door, you get a blast of cold wind AND a blast of cigarette smoke every time the chain smokers go in and out of the restaurant which is is literally every ten minutes. Their food is delicious, but my group and I had a hard time tasting it due to the cigarette smoke. I emailed the owner asking him to consider investing in a winter vestibule for the door, which would keep the cold out and also create a barrier so that cigarette smoke wouldn't blow in, but no response. I guess the next time I'm going back isn't until the weather is warmer so this isn't a problem.
Everything was amazing we will be back. Even my vegan daughter found a delicious dish so did my picky son. There is something for everyone. The waitress was wonderful.
Wow! Great ambiance, great staff, great decor and some outrageously delicious, tasty food! (My compliments to the chef!) This place is - without a doubt - a hidden gem. Perfect cozy place to bring a date - whether for dinner or even just to have drinks (which are also extremely good). I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone... and can't wait until my next reservation and another fine dining experience at the BullRoom.
Absolutely loved everything about this place! Great food, ambiance and service. Cocktails are out-of-this world and the names of the cocktails are even better. Highly recommend when in Middletown NY.
Good food, cool setting, ok service (only 1 person waiting tables). Hard to find the place, not marked and in the rear of the building.
Very sexy little spot for a date. No signage is great. It’s like a little mystery to get there. I had the Parmis on encrusted salmon which was excellent. The rice could have been more spicier but the vegetables were fresh and the food was excellent
Great meal! Upscale food and elevated drinks. Don’t let the outside fool you. This is a diamond in the rough.
The ambiance is great. The food was so-so. We were a party of five. The configuration of the tiny restaurant meant that it took three tiny tables of two, pushed together, to accommodate our party. No prob -- except it was a problem because the middle table was 2" shorter than the tables on either side of it AND it's top wobbled -- just an unnecessary inconvenience that took our attention off of the discussion every time the wobbly table sent a dish sliding. For parties of two -- I suggest you sit at the bar.
Overpriced and food is not flavorful. My husband enjoyed his drink but not his meal. I didn’t enjoy either. The ambience was different than what you would normally find in Middletown but it felt cold. Literally cold... and while dark and having candles lit, it was missing that cozy feeling of a romantic or even fun speakeasy. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning anytime soon.
So, let’s say this is the sister restaurant of Nina. Which used to be the best in The OC. The service was just overwhelmed. Food was over cooked for my entree. My wife’s was
Celebrating New Year’s Eve AND 15 Yr Wedding Anniversary
Ambiance was perfection, as I like it dim and romantic
We had a price fix menu for NYE with 4 courses of delicious choices. Everything was divine!
My only complaint would be the drink menu prices. Maybe come down a bit on those prices. Customers would probably drink a bit more if that was the case and it would benefit bar revenue.
Beautiful space, interesting menu, great drinks
Server was outstanding! Music and atmosphere were great. Food was very good. Really enjoyed our meal/evening.
Great vibe, great food. Our waitress was lovely, but the service was a tad slow. Unsure if it was because we went in relatively early or not, Despite that, still great, and gave us time to enjoy our cocktails.
I had been to this restaurant about 10 years ago. It was wonderful food, though price-y, nice ambience back then. This was the restaurant I chose for my birthday dinner with my in-laws this past weekend. I made a reservation for 6:30 through Open Door, and we were punctual. When I mentioned to the host that we had a reservation for 6:30, he said there had been a "mistake" and they had given our table to other patrons. He said that it would be about a "ten-minute" wait. We were not given any direction about what to do, so we sat in the bar/lobby to get a glass of wine for my mother-in-law and myself. When I asked the host if the drinks will be on the house, he told me there was no one there to make that decision. So our group sat for over an hour in the bar, with a very noisy party in the background so we could hardly even talk without shouting. We were not offered an appetizer or anything by the restaurant staff. Finally, after about an hour and ten minutes, the host came back and told us that he had directed the patrons at our table to leave (!) so that we could have our table. It then took another hour to get bread to our table. We were starved by then, as it was after 8:30. When we were seated, the host came and said that we could have a drink or dessert on the house after all. Once dinner came, the food was very good. It's a shame, because of the experience I will not go back there. As a business owner myself, I can't believe that after things quieted down that the manager couldn't have found a moment to come out and apologize. I don't usually ask for things, or write bad reviews, but this restaurant needs some feedback as to how to have happy customers. It seemed to us that they only cared about the large bar crowd who were spending lots of money on drinks, but cared nothing for the people trying to have a pleasant dinner and conversation. There are many other restaurants out there that have great food, nice atmostphere AND great service.
Great spot! We were looking for something new, and this fit the bill. It's a small, moderately-lit place, with a great bartender, Johnny. This is no run of the mill place though. Handcrafted cocktails, fantastic menu (Cuban Empanadas, Bye Bye Birdie sandwich and deconstructed salads among others). We are definitely coming back.
Another amazing dining experience at The BullRoom. Sat at the bar and the service was phenomenal, the bartender here is outstanding. The food is ridiculously good and we can’t wait to come back, again.
Amazing night at The Bullroom. Service was outstanding as was the food. I can’t believe I’ve never tried this place but I will definitely come back
We were blown away by our experience here--it was so good!!! It is a 'speakeasy,' and finding the door to enter is a fun challenge. Enter and find a cozy room with lots to look at including a wonderful bar. Our waiter/bartended Johnny was just great--his bartending skills top notch mixing us some of the most delicious and unusual drinks we ever had. The menu was filled with tempting offers--and there were 5 or 6 specials in addition. We opted to get several appetizers and each and every one was a big hit. This is not your mom and pop restaurant--its a real treat for foodies. Can't say enough good things about The BullRoom. I wish we lived closer!!!
The drinks and food was delicious! We enjoyed the ambiance & the staff was friendly.
First time here. Overall was a nice experience. However, after ordering the apps it took the waiter almost 25 minutes to come back to the table and tells us one of the apps was 86’d. Then as soon as the one app was placed on the table, literally 2 minutes later our entrees came out to the table. Kitchen timing and communication with guests is paramount for success. Both of which were a fail from my point of view.
The food and cocktails were great. The Tuna tartare was exceptional and the filet mignonette was good too. The cocktails were super. The service was poor though. The server seemed to be in a rush and was rushing us too. My wife and I wanted to sit on the same side of the table to look at some photos and after a few minutes he insisted we sit opposite each other to make enough space for seating people on the next table. There was enough space to begin with and the imaginary people never showed up!!
Amazing time, good food, good drinks, good atmospheric, relaxing service..not rushed. Will go again when in town. Johnny was the best at the bar, really took his time to create amazing drinks.
Go behind Nina's to the back fenced in area, the door with the bull on it is the entrance, no signs.
Great food great drinks great staff
