The Bricklayers Arms
We pride ourselves on getting involved with the local community and providing a warm and friendly welcome to our visitors. We serve Harvey's Best Bitter straight from the barrel, a fantastic range of wine and beautifully home cooked British pub food. Located opposite the Chipstead Sailing Lake, we are perfectly positioned for a warm bowl of soup after a walk, a summer cider on the green, or a comforting meal in front of our real, open log fire.

Great atmosphere and food and very friendly staff.
The outside undercover seating was very good with lighting and heaters from above. The staff were attentive and although it was very busy there were enough staff to cope. The drinks came quickly and we didn't have to wait too long for the food. Two of our party of 5 arrived half an hour late but we weren't made to feel uncomfortable and were all served at the same time.
Excellent food and beer as usual at the Bricklayers. Under current rules have to be outside, which was very cold as the evening progressed, but very well prepared with some heating under cover. Will be back again very soon.
Our first visit to a pub/restaurant since lockdown and it was a joyous experience. A friendly, warm welcome, excellent service, scrumptious food and drinks. Beautiful view and lots of socially distanced happy faces. Pure pleasure.
Lovely to be back eating and drinking outside. Very COVID safe
The Bricklayers is consistently very good for food, its ales and service and, despite the current challenges imposed by Covid restrictions, it's still the same wonderful and welcoming place.
First pub lunch out since lockdown and not disappointed! Usual friendly and prompt service - rebooked for next week!
Great food. Was a bit chilly but hot water bottles were provided which kept us warm.
As usual the staff were attentive and polite. The food was excellent.
Lovely setting, good food, and very helpful and friendly service. Would definitely recommend.
We had a great lunch here.
The team is as welcoming as ever and the food is excellent as well as good values for money.
I highly recommend this place
Great food and the usual brilliant service. All set up in a safe way and beer was tasty
A tonic in many ways. Highly recommend the burger!
First night out since lockdown, this pub is very nice and the staff are friendly. Would highly recommend
Fantastic, great to be back and looking forward to returning very, very soon.
Don't miss out, book the Brickies but please leave space for me!
A great ambiance looking over the lake. Relaxed, friendly and attentive staff. Evident extra care being taken for COVID. Good portions. Welcomed despite last minute booking. Lovely
The food was outstanding the server/barman was very attentive friendly and nothing was too much trouble will definitely be coming back
As always great pub. Such a shame they are having to close due to second lockdown when they have worked so hard to put safety of customers and staff as top priority during these awful times.
Keep safe everyone.
We had a very good lunch for my daughter’s birthday. We had a warm welcome and the general atmosphere was excellent. The staff were friendly, helpful and the service first class. The food was cooked to perfection. Looking forward to our next visit, when we’re allowed!
Always a tasty and enjoyable experience at the Bricklayers.
Very nice meal. Good range of choices and options. Lovely seat by the window.
Lovely stop for a pub lunch - with the beautiful lake opposite. We enjoyed our drinks and lunch and service was very good. Would recommend.
Nice mixed menu for a Sunday, not just roasts, . Good table spacing, and Covid friendly .
Good wholesome pub food with great friendly service
In view of the restrictions, the experience was really good.Good to see a full menu back, just feel sorry that they have to shut their premises again
Cosy with great food and drink. Staff were attentive and super friendly
Always a warm friendly welcome, superb team led by Andy, excellent service, delicious food. We are fortunate it is our local.
Had a socially distanced birthday meal yesterday- what a treat to feel normal & have a delicious lunch in the new ‘outside’ space. Perfectly comfortable- we didn’t even need the heaters on. As usual the food, service & atmosphere were great- congratulations Andy & team on keeping things going smoothly through these challenging times!!
The location of the table was spacious and away from other diners. The food was very good as usual and service friendly and quick.
Had a great lunch, good choice of food plenty to select from, service was very good all friendly staff and lovely pint of Harvey's, we will definitely come back
Good place to have lunch. If I were in the area again I would be happy to go back.
Really lovely and quiet and very friendly staff. The food was delicious after a long walk!
Lovely food & felt very comfortable with measures taken by staff
A lovely welcoming evening with friends. Hope to return soon.
Very nice meal. Always constant in standard which is important that you can rely on good food and service every time you visit .
We were made to feel welcome & safe during these difficult times. The owner had gone the extra mile to met government guidelines. The service & food was excellent. We shall come again.
Really missed not having roast beef on the menu, had been looking forward to it, although the roast pork was tasty.
Pleasant pub with good servers and good quality food.
Great Place and good food and value for money. Service is very good and friendly
This is a "proper" pub. No pretensions in the decor, furnishings etc or food. Just generous, hot, well cooked lunches, served in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Don't expect haute cuisine or 20 different types of craft anything, but they have a good range of well-kept beers. Not too keen on the marquee-type covering to the front, but that's a response to Covid, so I guess it will come down when we get through the crisis.
