Pub
The Bricklayers Arms is a delightful lakeside public house, comprising three terraced cottages in a charming Kent village. The pub is situated at the end of the picturesque Darent Valley Walk. The sign represents Sir Winston Churchill, an expert bricklayer and whose home was at nearby Chartwell.
We pride ourselves on getting involved with the local community and providing a warm and friendly welcome to our visitors. We serve Harvey's Best Bitter straight from the barrel, a fantastic range of wine and beautifully home cooked British pub food. Located opposite the Chipstead Sailing Lake, we are perfectly positioned for a warm bowl of soup after a walk, a summer cider on the green, or a comforting meal in front of our real, open log fire.

Went for a bite to eat with my girlfriend and a friend. Service was excellent, Harvey’s was tops. Food (cheeseburgers and seafood platter) was delicious.
Andy Hogg (landlord) is running a top pub there in Chipstead.

We were made welcome, shown to our table and asked to provide details because of covid. Drinks came promptly as did the food once we'd made our minds up. The burger was lovely and the Cottage Pie gorgeous. Puddings were sumptuous. Service in this covid era was great. Well done to all.

Went to the Bricklayers' Arms yesterday for lunch with two friends. It was the first time we had been there and we were really pleased with our choice. Apart from it's lovely situation in a very pretty village, inside it is very clean and pleasant and the staff were helpful and efficient. The food was delicious - two of us had the salmon en croute and the other the stuffed mushrooms and we all agreed on the quality. Desserts were also very tasty and there was a good choice. Would definitely go again and also recommend to friends and family.

Very good food. However, when we booked we were not warned that we would be across the road on a windy day when rain was threatened and whilevthere was a warning that not all the tables were sheltered there was no indication of the location.

We arrived late after a long walk and the bricklayers’ team helped sort another table outside even though they were very busy. Having settled down with a relaxing drink the menu had plenty of pub options with lots of gluten free favourite picks. Food arrived promptly and served with a smile. A lovely evening helped by the tasty food and great service.

Chef must have had a Bad day, Glutenous Sauce instead of Cheese Sauce, a sauce was brought too me which was better.
The Pub and outside was too busy, Traffic very close and going past the Door and Cars parked in the Road in the lovely Village plus the view was’nt brilliant of the Lake with Bushes were a bit high, not for me.

The Bricklayers Arms
Responded on 28 June 2021

Apologies the food did not live up to our usual standards on this occasion. Unfortunately the traffic is out of our hands, on this particular Saturday there was a football tournament at the local sports ground as well as a busy day sailing on the lake which added to the traffic and parking. Andy
