The Boatshed La Perouse
Food was good but the timing of the service was really poor: our entrées were served at the same time than the mains and the side meal took too long and I had to cancel
Fantastic view and location. Staff very friendly and explained where to go to order your food and drinks.
food was served after a short time and was hot and fresh. Toilets very clean and fresh smelling.
Really enjoyed our breakfast. We’ll be back next time for lunch :)
My one and only gripe with this whole experience is no table service, i mean come on guys its 2020, technology for order taking is excellent now there is no excuses for having to come up to the bar to order like an RSL.
Lovely location. Service was a bit patchy, it was nice enough but this place could be amazing with some better restaurant management.
nice spot by the water, but neeeding to queue up to order and pay for food and drinks lowered the experience. Shell fish was good.
Fish and chip portions were massive. Didnt enjoy our calamari but rest of food was good
Food was good ordered the seafood platter for two no bowl for prawn peels etc
DRINKS TOOK TOO LONG
by the time we got our wine the food was almost gone
The first time we came the food was nice but the 2nd time it seemed very average and the prawns didn’t taste fresh they were soft.
Service was a little slow with the beverages, I had to ask where my drink was.
Terrible rude service unfortunately distracted from the food
Great food and service, does justice to the spectacular location.
A great venue with helpful staff- great food and cocktails however very rushed and busy.
Was total chaos. Booked a table for 4 but wasn't allowed to order drinks at the bar. Was told to order drinks from the same area the take away customers ordered their coffee or take-away food. After cueing for 10 mins i was told i couldn't purchase any alcohol beverage from that section until i ordered a meal. When i went to the bar to order the drinks they said they were too busy and i was sent back to the take-away section. My husband and his mate waited for 15 minutes while they changed the beer keg, even when we said we would choose another beer. People were coming in after us and getting table service until we managed to get hold of a different waiter who helped us. Wasn't pleasant .
The food is absolutely fabulous! Be sure to make a reservation if you want to be sure getting a table. Otherwise the place will probably be full if it’s a hot day or a holiday.
Nice food with wonderful view. It is convenient that you can make a booking as the queue is always long on the weekends. Staffs are very friendly but a bit too busy so you have to do some self service for water and extra plates.
Perfect summer venue, will def be back to try out the lunch menu
We had the seafood platter for 4 and added whole lobster. We chose grilled option instead of fried. Delicious and good was just enough for 4. Would definitely go back.
i really enjoy the Boatshed for lunch. i do not know why you need to order all food and drinks at the front of cafe. it seems to create queues and confusion. previously you could order from bar direct.
great seafood platters at at great price. always recommend to friends
the food was slow to come out. the food tasted horrible. the steak was under cooked and there was a lot of fat on it, which should of been trimmed, it was very chewy. My partner ordered a coke, when the coke came out there was a crack in the glass which we needed to order a new one. We hadn’t finished our meals yet, and the waiter came along to our tables it felt like he was rushing us to go clearing plates off the table. The restaurant wasn’t completely packed at the time I felt like I was rushed to leave. I wouldn’t be going back and I wouldn’t be recommending this place. Great view but that’s about it.
The seafood platter is without question The Boatshed's signature dish. Your restaurant is uniquely special for this part of Sydney for sure - no pretensions, splendid natural backdrop and seafood prepared knowingly for seafood lovers.
We had a table just by the water. 10 of us and it was really easy to order food and drinks and it all came very quickly despite the place being packed. Servings are generous and cocktails are a perfect addition to a Sunday lunch between friends :)
Too crowded no wait staff line 30 deep to order food took an hour to order
The food was way to quick to come out!
My mother had lobster it was like chewing on a piece of leather!
All the rest was edible but felt like it had been waiting for us to arrive
Who couldn't love such a magical setting right next to the beach/water - it's just such a shame that they are not open for dinner as well (at least during summer).
Fantastic views, swift efficient service, great food at quite reasonable prices for the area - what more could one ask for? We met up with family from the central coast for brunch and it was so nice we've decided to make it a regular thing only having seen the lunch/dinner menu we're all fighting over what time to come again because the menus are wonderful so we'll definitely be back
Food and overall experience was great!
Fantastic spot for great seafood and a fun and bubbly atmosphere! Fantastic service all day long!
Really nice spot to sit and enjoy the view food was good and well priced, we
will be back for sure.
Very poor service and clueless staff completely let’s down what could be a great restaurant .
Food was good and so was the service, sat inside which was a little noisy but the main dish was served before we had finished our entrees.
I would definitely recommend the Boatshed to friends. It is an amazing venue near the water which has a relaxed atmosphere, very good service, very good food and just a great place to go and enjoy yourself!
Thank you for making my husband's 50th birthday lunch an unforgettable experience. Everyone loved it!
A little disappointed service was nil. The prawns and crab were frozen no taste. Salmon was nice as was scallops and oysters.
Good food, location and views. Felt uneasy about the fact that our table had been given away and had to wait 10 mins while another table was organised. One meal was delivered to another table and was delayed by 20 mins getting to our table. Then being given the hurry up ten minutes before the allotted 90 min booking, was a bit rich. Won't be going back there on a Sunday. Might try another day.

Very disappointed with the food. Ordered 2 seafood platters for 2. Cold seafood was under the hot food so prawns and oysters were warm. Food looked like it had been thrown on the plate. Great view though.
Enjoyed the day however it was every noise in the section we were in ghats my only complaint
Good food, great service. Only minor complaint is that fish on the seafood platter had bones and was not edible.
Food delicious, amazing service & great atmosphere 😊
I found the boat shed to be of a high standard. Freindly service and great food with the gluten free menu as excellent.
Only criticism would be the music and how loud it was.
Friends who had lunch there the previous day commented the music was so loud they couldn’t have a conversation.
We had much the same experience.
