Great location, enjoyed the suffers breakfast and coffee.
The Blue Duck is long-established at Cottesloe Beach. Fabulous views from the sheltered deck. Menu is good but not very inspired, food quality excellent, quantity fine. Recommended for business lunches but not for special occasions.
Lobster was dry and overcooked. Linguini was fine though. Seems to have slipped a bit since we last dined there a few years ago.
Food was fine (reef & beef) although was delivered rather quickly giving the impression it was pre-cooked and reheated. They were flexible when asking for slight modification to dish. However after order was placed, had drinks and meal delivered and never saw the wait staff again. They checked in with the table next to me but didn’t bother with me for some reason. Wasn’t approached for another drink or desert so got up & left promptly after meal.
Excellent food (lamb cutlets) and outstanding service. We brought with us a 1972 Grange Hermitage—the food matched the wine, and the service was understanding and sympathetic—getting the aged cork out without contaminating the wine, and providing us with a carafe if we wanted to decant the wine.
The only things that I'd say are:
1. Seated not very far from the sliding door to the deck patrons kept leaving it open when coming and going.
The draft was unpleasant. I got fed up going to close for it to be left open again moments later. A notice should be put on the door saying "Please close after" or something to that effect. I mentioned this to staff.
2. It was not a hot day but the aircon seems to be set too low. Even though indoors we had to keep our jackets on.
Great vantage point over the ocean. The food was good and the service was good.
Casual dining Great seafood lovely atmosphere with view if the ocean
May be noisy on a busy day
Very average fare. I don’t recommend it for lunch.
Excellent service, checking & following up with our requests efficiently.
The food was superb with a beautiful selection offered & reasonably priced. Wonderful flavours.
An amazing backdrop-The stunning Indian Ocean. We could see Rotto & watched the ships come & go.
Very relaxed; ambient environment. Love it.
Very busy and noisy.
Waited about 40 minutes for coffee to arrive after ordering.
We could see food was ready and waiting under warmer but wait staff seemed to ignore bell on several occasions.
My vege breakfast was OK but 2 people had smashed avo which was chilled to the point of being frozen with the poached eggs on top very cold and hard.
Service was very poor - slow - and incorrect coffee on second order.
We were disappointed as it is a long time since we have been there and on that occasion it was very nice and also has fond memories as it was a last breakfast with a friend who has since passed away.
Four of us had breakfast on a Saturday morning and all our choices were plentiful and tasty. Service was a bit slow but that could be because the restaurant was full. The location is fabulous.
Very well priced breakfast s for all of the family
Hard to get bacon eggs hash brown etc for $14
Porridge had the right texture and was tasty
We hadn’t dined at the blue duck for many many years. The restaurant looked very much like a cheap diner. Its decor obviously works better for breakfast or lunch service. It had no atmosphere and didn’t feel very appealing. The food was good and the service was ok for a very quiet night.
Both meals were excellent. The crayfish mornay was delicious. I wished I’d had it again as I watched my mother try to scrape out any remains with the chips. The barramundi was also good. Cocktail and coffee finished the meal nicely. The view is always amazing. Highly recommended.
Always a joy to have breakfast at the Blue Duck and experience the fabulous food and coffee in such a magnificent setting. The staff were absolutely delightful!!
The food was overall great, there was a good presentation and servings but I personal did have an issue with my food as it was undercooked, but other than that great place and staff are all very lovely:)
The service for a busy Easter Sunday breakfast was excellent and very quick.
Very enjoyable family outing, gorgeous views, friendly service and tasty food.
This place trades on its view. The menu was ordinary and the food less than inspiring. I had eggs Benedict with ham on potato Rostock. The ham was very processed and flavourless. The rosti was deep fried, fatty, and again processed. Disappointing altogether. Won’t be going there again.
Great venue for breakfast relaxed atmosphere always great service , i do have one complaint is they don't split the bill, this is a hassle as if you are in a group it's a huge pain working out the split .
Beautiful views and great service. Beef and reef was really good on the reef but only ok on the beef. Duck leg was awesome.
Eggs were overcooked and we weren’t given cutlery until we requested it which was after our food was delivered to the table.
Food was fresh and fast. Awesome view and staff were great. Juices and coffee were delicious. My poached egg was over but I still really enjoyed it. The handled the busyness well and we all left brekky full and satisfied.
Beautiful location a very enjoyable place to dine with food and service to match
Lovely breakfast, friendly staff, fairly prompt with food as it was extremely busy.
Good food, friendly staff and great ocean views...
My friend and I had the crispy duck for mains and it was delicious. The ambience of the outside verandah looking over the ocean was fantastic.
Excellent. Delicious food, fast, professional, attentive service. Catered to my gluten free needs with friendliness and care. Unbeatable ocean view. Thanks Blue Duck staff, for a lovely time.
As always -great food ,great service and amazing views.
Great fast service. Attentive staff and a lovely well priced meal. Will book again.
Havent been to the blue duck for ages but was lovely to return - a bit squishy with the tables we were out on the verandah but the food was fab and it was a lovely day.
Great day for lunch outside Friday 12 March. Wife and I enjoyed our 50th wedding anniversary alone, together...
Crayfish and heaps of SSB..,.couldn’t do dessert. $100$ food $100 for 2 wines...a really nice memory..regards to Jodie and all the friendly staff..
We’ll be back ..all the way from Duncraig. Ned
Nice night overlooking the waterfront. Food was lovely, but the service was a bit slow, even though there weren't that many people there. Prices good for the view, which you could see as they light up the beach at night time. Overall a very good night for our wedding anniversary!
Food was so delicious, this is the 4th time we have visited and every time we walk out happy 👌
Always a wonderful experience, fabulous staff, food and relaxing views.
Very enjoyable lunch venue and stunning location on beach front. Food and service was of a high standard.
The food was excellent, the ambiance of the room could be better, too many hard surfaces but the only real criticism was the service was less attentive than needed, never got asked during our dining if more drinks were required.
It was a pleasant experience but not accommodating to menu changes
Great sunset staff very accommodating and friendly...an enjoyable evening had
