Full breakfast for $12 with ocean front table is ridiculously good value. Service and quality were great as well.

Way too much salad on sat and pepper squid. Spaghetti was ok but not memorable
We were recommended and overall a pleasant experience however thought you could do much better on food quality

We have taken quiet a few guests along from interstate. We have never been disappointed and our guests have loved it. They love the view the food and excellent service.

The waitress had an attitude, she
Couldn’t remember who ordered what drink and put the drinks down in front of the wrong people without asking and walked away. The salad was dressing heavy and looked like it had been made the day before and sitting there overnight wilting away.

My first visit in a few years to the Blue Duck and sadly it is a shadow of it's glory days. Understaffed, not willing to make small variations to meals and a 15 minute wait from seating to be asked if we wanted a drink...

The breakfasts might be great but the lunches were a huge disappointment.. I should have realised once the place clears out after the breakfast crowd .. my husband and I were meeting friends for a brunch but got there early after a swim .. the chips were overcooked but were replaced when this was pointed out.. we were asked if everything else was ok.. our friends didn’t want to make a fuss but if the staff can’t work out that the calamari was very unappealing, pathetically overcooked to be non existent then that’s a problem .. the salads were ok but def never having lunch there again . Coffee is good

We were not offered water on our table and our drinks came out after our breakfast. When we mentioned it the waitress was short with us.

Lovely food. The oyster special for Valentines’s Day was a little over priced. The Angus steak was delicious. We were there before 6pm and were given the Happy Hour wine menu. The wines were good and great value. Very nice service. Unfortunately it was very hot on the deck.

Great view, food was nice. Unfortunately the decor was poor and outdated. The bathroom facilities were very shabby considering it is a wedding reception venue. Great location, but needs a serious makeover.

nice place, food was good. It was noisy inside (not good for easy conversation) and the maitre d' was a bit brusque. But the venue is pretty special!

A great location but something was missing. For a Saturday evening the restaurant was far from full. The fish and chips were good but the service so so.

We weren't in a hurry but service was slow, with small number of clients. Superb venue, noisy kitchen, but we will go again for the food.

Good food at a reasonable price overlooking the Indian ocean . Can get busy on weekends during the day so it pays to book a table

I came from Japan to eat while watching the sun set in the Indian Ocean. The location was great and the food was very good. Desserts are especially recommended. Correspondence of the staff was also good. I was glad to understand a little Japanese.

Food was mediocre at best. Eggs Benedict mistakenly came on (greasy and not very tasty) hash browns. Somebody needs to tell them that if it is not on toast, it is not Eggs Benedict. Call it something else. The “house-smoked” salmon was finally shredded bits of salmon rather than whole pieces, not attractive and not very good tasting, detracting from the dish. All in all, definitely not a $22 dish.

Wait staff were friendly but not well organised. We were asked three times by 3 different people in 5 minutes if we wanted coffee. Coffees were put in front of wrong people when they finally arrived. Maybe these are temporary holiday staff? But they need some training.

Value for money proposition was not good given the quality of food and service.

The view is the one thing no chef or waiter can diminish.

I received a note after the visit to say I had missed my reservation! This was despite me clearly stating my name and booking time to the receptionist on arrival, and her repeating that to the waiter. When I overheard someone saying the kitchen closed at 3 PM I asked a waitress if the restaurant also closed at 3 PM. She said no, it stays open for drinks. Then someone else asked us to start leaving at 3 PM. The food was very good, and it's a great location, but I get the impression that most of the staff are backpackers doing short stints and there's not much management of them.

The presentation of the food was average and the food served to us was cold. A letdown for the New year eve celebration.

Went back to The Blue Duck for the first time in years. The view and setting is great but the food is largely good. Everything was well presented but the menu was a bit ordinary and the execution was ok. Steak was well cooked and the fired seafood crispy and fresh. My wife’s gluten free plaster was under done, likely due to inexperience but still annoying

Service was very good once we were able to put our order in. (Just a little slow at returning to our table, to take the order) However the girls were very happy and helpful. The noise level has always been bad at the BD, in my opinion, but unfortunately most restaurants are the same! Ambiance not warm and inviting or particularly interesting. It's a noisy restaurant with big windows over looking the ocean with nice food for a price, so you ARE paying for the view, not just the food! Reasonable wine list. We will return another time, I'm sure!

Excellent value and service. The food (breakfast, chilli eggs) was very nice and a more than fair price for the location.

View and food were great. The service to our table wasn’t great. We had to call the waitress over for water initially and then again to order drinks and yet again to order coffee & desserts. Fortunately there was another waitress, not serving our table, who did respond to our table in the end.
Lucky the food and view made up for the tardy service.

2 meals were quite good. 2 pasta meals were less than nice. The pasta was far too thick and was unable to be cooked well. Taste was good, but the pasta let them down. Bloody good view though

Not in the heart of the Cottesloe rowdiness so definitely adds to the intimate restaurant ambience. Sunset off the balcony was spectacular and the seating configuration gives everyone a bit of their own privacy.
The menu was not overly fussed but catered for every taste and the food was beyond yummy!
The staff made my partner feel ultra special on his birthday and the general friendliness was so delightful.
It's definitely a place on my FAVE list
