Modern Vineyard Cuisine inspired by our Indigenous roots. We proudly sit on the traditional land of the Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation. Our inspiration for the name of our new signature restaurant comes from a chaptik story passed down through the generations of our First Nations people of the Okanagan.
The Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation approach to food is based on the creation stories of their culture and we’ve taken their stories as the inspiration for the name of our restaurant: “The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry,” based on the story of the Four Food Chiefs.
The Four Food Chiefs are central: Skimxist Black Bear (chief of animals, representing self-sacrifice, leadership, giving), Ntytikxw Chinook Salmon (water creatures, perseverance, hard work), Speetlum Bitterroot (plants below the round, relationships to the land) and Seeya Saskatoon Berry (plants above ground, growth, strength, community) are legendary and the elements of indigenous cuisine.

Good food, beautiful view and great service! We had a lovely lunch on the patio on a sunny and warm fall afternoon. Would have been perfect had the vine trimming machine not been operating near us for much of the time, making the noise level frequently rather high. Otherwise, this is a great restaurant and we will go back.

We had a great brunch today. It was warm enough to eat on the patio and enjoy the view. The menu has been updated since we were last here, and we thought it was much improved. There are a variety of gluten-free options for my wife who is celiac. The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. We will be back soon.

Unique and delicious menu, attentive service, and lovely view. Fry bread, vegetable soup and lingcod were all highlights. The veggie soup was very flavorful, as much as a meat broth would be. The fry bread dough was flavored with herbs so not just fried bread. All the dishes were beautifully plated, picture worthy.

Our server was frazzled, rushed and made us feel rather neglected from the start. We asked twice for a drink menu before receiving it 45 minutes after we were seated. It did not create a good ambiance to see our server running through the restaurant, however other servers we observed were very calm. When food was delivered it was not explained to us or confirmed for allergy modifications. We had enjoyed breakfast previously with excellent service and it was unfortunate that the dinner service was such a let down in comparison. We appreciated the customized dessert from the kitchen to accommodate allergies - thank you for that. Very disappointed in the dinner we experienced and a very unfortunate way to spend our last night in the area, as we had saved this restaurant for last in hopes it would end our trip on a great note.

Our server, Christina, was lovely and attentive. The soup of the day and bread were delicious as were the cocktails and wine. We were not impressed with our mains and the sides that accompanied - lacking in flavour and questionable pairing of sides to main. We still had a lovely evening. If we return we would go for soup. Salad, and bread and avoid the main dishes.
