We were very excited to try this place for my birthday! The venue inside the Waldorf is gorgeous! For drinks, the salt air foam margarita was amazing, and the Tempranillo blend was good. Here is what we had- - The octopus with potatoes and chorizo was exceptional. The taste, with sauce and texture, created a flawless dish. - My friend loved the bao with pork belly, but I found it to be standard. - I loved the conch fritters, presented in little balls with a cheese sauce filling. My friend did not like the alternative take on them. - We both liked the Caesar salad. It was presented as sushi rolls. We did end up cutting them up and mixing it since the egg was only on certain ones. - The crab ensalada was like a fancy crab dip. Great to start. - Boneless buffalo bites- standard. - Sweet chips- tasty and worth it. - Po Boy- Very disappointing. One fried oyster with a tartar sauce on a dry roll. The bread was dry, the oyster wasn't big, and overall super disappointing and not worth it. - The cheese steak- the restaurant tried to make this fancy and different. there was like deli shaved beef dried over a roll filled with cheese sauce. This was a total fail. The cheese sauce was weird, it wasn't gooey or anything- mozzarella would have been better. The beef was weird and not tasty. We would go back, but more selectively order, getting more of over favorites. We ordered Ala cart, and I wouldn't suggest the tasting menu based on the surprises we encountered.

The menu was innovative and interesting. My colleague and I went for a work dinner during a conference. We really enjoyed the Iberico ham, the oxtail croquettes, and the hamachi tartare. However, the sweet chip anise dip was way too strong for both of us and the baby Japanese peaches were interesting, but not necessarily what was expected. The creamy coconut rice with cuttlefish was OK, as were the stuffed peppers. We also did not order dessert because all of the desserts are deconstructed. Our server was phenomenal and the atmosphere was definitely fun, but some of the dishes were a little outlandish and the menu did not necessarily explain the defining notes. We would go back, but maybe play it a little safer.
