The Bank on Collins Ratings and Reviews
Lovely comfy relaxing old english feel to the place. Great for a chill or a random meal with colleague and friends. The staff are absolutely friendly and excellent on their service! Well done guys! It really makes a very pleasant experience with comfy seating.
This also has great happy hour deals which make this place very attractive, value for money.
The food is really presented beautifully and tastes great along with the attractive looking bar and it's drinks/cocktails.
I would reccomend this restaurant bar to anyone.
Having dined at the bank before we were excited to return, however this experience was not like the previous. The staff were horrendously slow with everything. We were seated for 20 minutes before we initiated the ordering of drinks. A bottle of wine did not come, despite repeated prompts, for 45 minutes and at this point it was found that the waiter didn't know what wine was even ordered. Half of the next round of drinks was brought to the table, however the other half was left on the bar for 10 minutes. We could see the drinks and a member of our party attended the bar to collect them after this period. Not one round of drinks or meal order was initiated by the wait staff all night, nor did they visit the table or actively clean away empty glasses. It would take a lot for me to return.
The steaks were done just the way we liked them and they were tender and tasty This is a very good place to meet up for lunch in the city when you have other things to do because the service is fast and friendly. They have a good lunch menu although we chose from the a la carte.
I have not attended this place before and I was recommended to go hence my booking of 10.
I found the place to be good and the waiters were extremely friendly and accommodating.
I do feel the lunch time special of $20 could be reduced by $5.00 which wouldn't even put a dint in the profits however it would increase bums on seats
The Bank on Collins serves really good food in a wonderful old building. The meals were well presented and a good selection of tasty options. The only thing missing was a cheeses board which my friends and I would have liked to finish our meal. They have an extensive drink menu to compliment your meal. Staff are friendly and efficient and provide information when needed.
We went for post first time marathon celebration with my parents. The food was varied enough to cater for all peoples taste. The decor is fantastic being an old bank and was a talking point.
We booked and just as well because people were turned away. Great value for money. Would definately go again when in Melbourne
The food was absolutely amazing and great value for money. Love to see that they catered for vegetarians!
Service was friendly and prompt.
The only negative thing I could say was that they forgot about the cocktail I had ordered, but that was a very minor downfall. And understandable given how busy they were at the bar.
Overall highly recommend ☺️
Quiet conversation just NOT possible . Lunch special deal sounded better than it was.
Pork & pineapple was simply a plate of "greens", steak tough, & despite request for HOT coffee, it was simply medium warm. None of the 6 on our table rated it worth a return visit despite fact that diversity of our addresses has us seeking a central Melbourne venue. The two who couldn't make it at the last minute missed nothing....except our exceptional company!!
I enjoyed the food and the happy hour cocktails were amazing, especially considering how cheap they were. When I walked in the first thing I thought was it's is a bit noisy. The drinks did take a long time to come out sometimes, but they were probably busy. There was a payment mix up towards the end where people double paid for something, but the staff fixed this for us when we came back to ask.
