Great food but disappointed by the service from management.
We dined here for dinner with our two young children (4 years and 21 months) and my parents for Mother's Day.
It was a lovely dinner - food was amazing, atmosphere was just the right amount of lively (which suited our young family), whilst we could all still carry on a conversation around the table.
The only element that let this restaurant down was the service. For the price of the food and wine, and considering where the restaurant is attempting to pitch itself, the service was unpolished.
Amazing food. Hand written card from the restaurant because I mentioned it was a birthday dinner, very nice touch.
Amazing food and service. The menu has a big variety and the waiters helped point us in the direction of most popular dishes and the wine to accompany each. Very happy!
I visit Melbourne once a year, last year my daughter surprised me with dinner at The Atlantic. It was so exceptional I couldn't wait to bring my partner this year and we were rewarded with a truly wonderful, romantic, relaxed dining experience. The staff are fabulous, attentive and friendly. The food is without question some of the finest I have tasted and the atmosphere delightful. Sadly I now have to wait another 360 days befor a return visit
Beautiful seafood. Expensive but worth it for a special night. Absolutely loved the place
Excellent food and ambiance
Food was OK... but very costly.
Service was very mediocre given the price point. Alternating between intrusively attentive, to being ignore. Food was well prepared and enjoyable. Venue is looked quite aged and toilets were quite dirty.
Very nice place for a meal, we had a quiet area and the service was outstanding once we were seated. It would have been nice for a bit more service before shown to table, booked for 8:30pm arrived 8:20, shown to waiting table in bar area, 8:45pm before shown to table, took 20 minutes to get a glass of water after asking two staff.
At half the price, this might have seemed like an acceptable dining experience. The food was sound in concept but tired and sloppy in execution, and very slow to arrive at the table. There was no sommelier in evidence to assist with what was actually a reasonable wine list. Service was inexperienced, unpolished, and rather patronising. The waiter actually handed the plates to ALL the diners across the table, and removed them in the same way. The whole place has the ambiance of a twenty-year old airport hotel with dark and shabby interiors which were once smart, serving diners who only pass through once, and once (at over $200 per head, including wine) at The Atlantic is certainly enough.
The whole Atlantic experience showed a high level of professionalism, from the Maîtres'D, to the table service by the waiter's, all specials were explained the food was terrific.
As the Crown Rewards Club member, I am more than qualified to enjoy the complementary wine and chocolate for my birthday. However the staff didn't even asked. I am very disappointed!
Dinner last night at the Atlantic was absolutely fantastic! The new menu was delicious. I can not speak highly enough of the amazing team that made our night incredible. We were so impressed by the team, their attention to detail and their professionalism.
Thank you and we look forward to dinning again soon.
Fabulous special occasion dining venue. The staff make you feel valued and ensure you enjoy your evening without being intrusive
Food is always awesome as is the service. Special venue for special occasions.
Lovely ambience, for a gathering with friends. Waiters were polite and attentive. Food was delicious.
Wonderful, memorable meal. The lobster was amazing and the buffalo steak was delicious! Thank you for treating us like royalty on our 50th wedding anniversary.
I prefer not to review the food (which was 'OK') but was deeply disappointed to see poor level of service after payment which included a significant tip. Personnel couldn't even been bothered to remove the temporary barricades and watched us both stepping over it to leave the restaurant. Definitely not going back as Dinner by Heston offers a different (read far superior) league of service and food within the similar price range.
Being returning customers, we expected fantastic food and service. And we weren't disappointed. The night and every thing about The Atlantic was exceptional.
The oysters and scallops entree was delicious. Whole fish were slightly over cooked so somewhat dry. Great chips.! Given the price tag, My expectations were not supported by the overall quality.
Have been to Atlantic about 30 times, always great but the service last night was absolutely terrible, not sure if we ever go back there
Lovely seafood in a busy restaurant
Everything was perfect. The food was beautiful. Wine was wonderful. Will return when we are feeling rich!
Love to go to Atlantic for a Saturday lunch. Food and service always excellent
We had a beautiful experience celebrating our wedding anniversary at The Atlantic starting with a very thoughtful congratulatory card and champagne brought to the table on our arrival. Food was exceptional, cocktails were fabulous and we had a perfect night with our table overlooking Southbank. Highly recommended for ambience, food and service. Compliments to the chef and the service team - we will be coming back!
Best seafood I’ve ever had.
The staff welcomed us with a very friendly approach and gave us a card for our anniversary! They attended to our needs promptly but were not overbearing with interruptions. Lovely table with river views made us feel special. Food was amazing and made the most of the fresh produce while adding special touches of flavour to every dish.
Despite being avid restaurant goers, we have only been to the restaurant once before. To be honest, the location and crowds of the Crown complex are unappealing! However, despite this, lunch at The Atlantic on Australia Day was a pleasant affair. The food was excellent and the service, although shared among a myriad of waiters, attentive!
Loved every meal had a great time with our kids.
The food was fantastic, the service was exceptional. Most budgets can be happy here, but if you go prepared to spend decent $ you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! It was my wife and I and the bill was $400+ tip. Worth every cent.
A trip to Melbourne has always involved a night at Atlantic. Unfortunately our service last night was not what I have received in the past and was well below what I expect. It was a shame as last night was meant to be very special for the two of us and we left very under whelmed. The waiter we had had blonde hair, nose ring and an accent.
On a positive the sommelier was exceptional. He helped us pick a lovely Pinot from the Gibbsland. He is a real asset to your staff.
Great restaurant and service, were able to accommodate my dietary requirements.
Food was amazing, the service was really lacking. We ordered a red each & it didnt come out for 40 minutes. Then our sparkling water got topped up with still water. I'm not one to complain but I felt the service wasnt disappointing.
We went to the Atlantic for our wedding anniversary. The staff were aware of this and helped us celebrate from the time we entered the door. We decided that we would share all dishes for the evening. The staff ensured that this was possible, to the extent that the main dishes were separated into two smaller portions. We throughly enjoyed our evening and would
Service was good but food and drinks were overpriced. The menu we selected was not worth the money we paid. My wife's fish was dry and did not enjoy. The seared scallops she ordered were nice but the accompaniment of butternut pumpkin dollops did not go. My meal was ok the goats cheese filled ravioli needed more cooking I realise pasta is supposed to be served a la dente but mine definitely needed more cooking as for the small portion of dory I realise its fine dining but i would need 3 to 4 courses to satisfy my appetite and simply couldn't afford to do that. It was our 41st Wedding Anniversary thought we try somewhere nice but we'd rather go where we get good food and drinks value for money. As a matter of fact a couple of hours later we had to cut short our visit to Crown as we both we're feeling ill and we both we're up most of the night in the bathroom. This was a memorable night all for the wrong reasons.
We loved the food as usual but unfortunately our table was in a corner virtually under the stairs to the toilet so that was disappointing.
The service was wonderful and the wait staff were most helpful and friendly. The food itself was delicious and very quick to be served but unfortunately it was extremely overpriced for the size of the meal. $49 for the main meal itself was very excessive considering it was very small. While I enjoyed the food I wouldn’t return as I feel I could spend my money elsewhere at the same quality while getting more of it.
We had a really nice experience, the food was really good and the service too, we will come back
I had barramundi my partner had kingfish, they were nice and cooked well. you have to order sides as it just comes as the fish on its own. The potatoes were a bit hard, and it’s not a massive amount so when you add all the sides to the meal it’s pretty expensive. Overall quite nice but to be homiest it isn’t to die for really, you could spend less and get the same or better quality elsewhere.
