Roast cake with 5 minuets if ordering, mediocre food.
Great trio roast at good price point.
Disappointing that the pub didn’t have our booking even though it was confirmed through OpenTable twice - apparently happens a lot there. Would have been a disaster if they couldn’t have squeezed us in as we had travelled an hour to get there.
Best to book direct with the pub itself.
Great place to eat. We had an issue with out OpenTable booking. Our booking was for 4 people but the Arkle Manor only had 2 down. Worth checking the booking directly with them.
Staff were really friendly, food was lovely! The place is nice with a good atmosphere despite it being a Monday night!
Went for lunch and enjoyed the food. Would go again but during the evening when there is a bit more atmosphere.
The service was great. With a good selection of food and drink options. The food was delicious when it arrived and everything enjoyed it.
Hadn't been to the Arkle in almost two years, having to host a get together in October with some old friends my wife and I decided to go to here to see if it's still as good as we remembered. We had a lovely evening, fantastic food, great service. Straight after our meal I booked a table for ten next month, can't wait to go back and start coming here more regularly again
I met an old school friend for lunch and we had a lovely meal. We were not rushed in any way and the waitress was so polite. We'll be going back for sure.
Regular visitor, still very good food, service and ambiance.
Lovely Sunday lunch, food was tasty and service was friendly
Service was slow but friendly. It was a Tuesday and very few diners were present.
We have dined at The Arkle Manor, quite often and we are well known to the manager and waiters/ waitresses.
We have always had a good experience.
The Sunday roast beef which my husband asked for, and told the waiter he would like it very rare even raw rather than overlooked, when it arrived it was dry and curled up at the edges as if it had been kept warm for hours. The plate was quickly removed and another replaced it the meat was not pink but just not rare in any way. If it is not possible to cook the joint in a way to have it rare it should be written on the menu, so that you can make an alternate choice.
The mushroom starter was very small. The lobster pot very nicely presented but not a lot of lobster flavour. The fried Brie excelent? We didn't eat until 2.30pm perhaps it's better to eat earlier.
The restaurant was fine. Nice food and good service. Unfortunately the table hadn't been booked for us although I had confirmation of the booking through Open Table.
Another Mitchell and Butler outlet but a really nice meal. I've eaten in quite a few M&B places and whilst the menu and formula are all very similar there is without doubt a difference in how each is run.
The Sunday lunch was one of the nicest I've had in a long time. The meat was a decent thick slice unlike so many where the meat is a couple of shaved slices. The veg is well prepared and the sauces plentiful.Starters and deserts were very nice and a good variety.
Not as good as it used to be (we had not been for a while). Waiter was not very welcoming, and when my wife mentioned her dessert was not very nice he could not show any less interest. Would think twice about going back. Nice place, but the experience was very disappointing.
We were entertaining our G/children (22 & 17) - perfect for them
and ideal for us.
When we arrived at The Arkle Manor they didn't have any booking referance on there books for us, they managed to fit us in .
Had a lovely evening and although there were several large parties in the restaurant we were not disturbed. The service was a little distracted but they were extremely friendly and eager to accomodate
Considering there were some large party bookings that evening the staff were very attentive and the food was served promptly.
I've driven past The Arkle on many occasions on the way to Dorking but never stopped until now and I'm glad we did. Bank Holidays are odd beasts where it it can be really busy during the day then absolutely dead in the evening and so it proved here. A quiet restaurant can lead to poor service as staff relax too much after a hard day but not so at The Arkle. We were well looked after and everything arrived promptly.
The decor is halfway between up-market pub and restaurant with different areas that make it an interesting space to eat in. The menu is varied with something for everyone. It's not cheap but we felt that £33 a head for three courses with drinks was reasonable for what we had.
We will definitely return.
Excellent, will go again, nice staff, good atmosphere
Amazing service from Jodie, made our anniversary was very special
After going here at the beginning of the week and all having a great meal we went back today to try the Sunday roasts and the three of us loved our choices again, the place is definitely going to become somewhere we'll go regularly to eat
A neighbour recommended the place to us ages ago and finally we got to go today. First impressions it looked a very nice place. The staff were very nice and courteous. The food was superb and I thought the portions were generous. For a starter I do recommend the squid. I had a burger for my main and to finish off my favourite, sticky toffee pudding. My two companions also really enjoyed their meals. We were so impressed we've booked up to have lunch there this Sunday
The meal was lovely and served very quickly. The staff very very friendly especially Andreji
