The Apprentice Restaurant Sydney is a TAFE NSW licensed training restaurant.
Lunch 12pm to 2pm: three courses (entrée, main & dessert) for $39 or you can select any two courses for $34.
Dinner 6pm to 8:30pm: three course menu for $39.
(Our prices are excluding beverages).
Our meals are usually served Table d’hôte (alternate drop) and portions are limited.

Bookings are highly recommended to avoid disappointment. For group bookings of 11 people or more please contact us by phone 02 7920 0909 (9am to 4pm) or email si.theapprentice@tafensw.edu.au. Payment in advance is required for group bookings.
We accept payment by EFTPOS, Visa or MasterCard. We do not accept cash or split bills.

For the first time I've not given all 5 stars. When I booked a couple of months ago I advised we had a vegetarian coming. On the day it was confirmed that it was on the booking. However, they were not prepared for this. All they did when they were reminded was remove the meat from the meals. This ended up being a miserly plate. They host did organise an extra plate but still no protein was offered. Otherwise, the meal was wonderful as usual.

This was our first visit and we enjoyed it so much we are taking our friends in a couple of weeks. The food was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. Definitely first class quality. Drinks were reasonably priced too. Glad we discovered this gem.

I've enjoyed several visits to Apprentice. Great value, and nice to see the students at practice. Good that there have been small variations to the menu, as repeated dishes became tiresome for diners - but some bigger changes would be nice.

Thankyou for your feedback and for supporting our students. We have different menus on Tuesday lunches than on Wednesday to Friday. As this is a training environment, the students need to cook each dish a certain number of times for their assessments. There will be new menus from 19 September. Our menus and the dates they are being served are available on our OpenTable page below the photos. The students' class continues after the restaurant is closed and the teacher provides feedback to the students during that time.

Lunch experience is extraordinary. I have long to go to this restaurant back when my daugther was studying there. Trying to book a table for 2 was a bit challenging due to its popularity. But was worth the wait. The staffs were friendly and ready to help, which is rare these days. Their presentation were faultless and speaks very politely. Food for all 3 courses were tasty and well presented. Then we found out that the menu were created by the students themselves. We are pleasntly surprised to the quality of the cooking. All round, a beautiful experience we would definitely will come back in the future.

We were very impressed with the quality of the food, the attention to detail of the staff serving us and the convivial atmosphere of the restaurant. Of a table of eight, we had one person with dietary requirements and the staff were excellent in engaging with that person and accommodating their needs. The service was exceptional. Altogether a very pleasant experience and highly recommended.

Congratulations to The Apprentice Restaurant cooks and servers who did such a wonderful job last week. Excellent food and excellent service. Our vegan guest (previously advised) said that she thought that she had the dish of the night. Wonderful experience, thank you TAFE Ultimo students and staff.

Innovative, impressive and delicious dishes. Between my husband and I we tasted all the dishes on the three course menu and they were all exceptional. It’s no mean feat to cook salmon or scallops perfectly but they were. Food presentation was also excellent, modern plating and generous serves. The wait staff were excellent, especially as this was their first service experience in their Advanced Hospitality course. The teaching staff did an amazing job! Great value for money

As it was very early in the term the staff were very nervous but did the best that they could. It is disappointing that the menu is now "alternate" drop as you used to be able to choose dishes from the menu.

Thankyou for your feedback and for supporting our students. The restaurant has always been advertised as alternate drop. Occasionally the teacher may allow guests to order, but this depends on the number of guests in the restaurant, class size and the students' experience levels.

It was great to have lunch at The Apprentice. The students(staff) were so quick to look after me with offering menus, serving food soon after placing order and packing away finished dishes. Very worthwhile having a meal there and giving the students a chance to wait on you and practice their skills. The food was delicious too!
