Delicious menu and presentation. Excellent value. Five star dining with fresh flowers and friendly staff. Great night out with very reasonable prices for alcohol.
Had a lovely evening. Good food options. Excellent standard of food and presentation
Fantastic experience keeping in mind the evening is presented by a learning class. The food quality was outstanding. The service was down to earth and honest. It was bit noisy but for the value being provided, easily overlooked. Definitely recommend.
Outstanding value for money with great food and great presentation by the nextgen of chefs! Highly recommend The Apprentice!
This is a training restaurant. The prices are very reasonable, the serves are big, and there is a genuine effort from everyone there.
Fine dining experience with the family on a very affordable price. The service was great and the food was delicious. Highly recommend and we will be back for sure
Enjoyed the dinner. All tables were truly spaced for social distancing. Service was great. Food was fantastic for the price. Will be back.
This is equal to any first class restaurant I have ever been to.
We have been going to the Apprentice Restaurant for the last three years and the food is so good. The food is top quality. In fact it is better than some restaurants and value for money . The staff has always been very pleasant and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Went back a fortnight after our last visit. The food was excellent as usual, although the side salad with the pear and arugula was a little too peppery. The rest of the food was superb and the service was great.
Can't wait for the next visit.
The food was great, the service good, I will be going back!
The food looked and tasted delicious. Oustanding presentation. I would have preferred the taste of the wafers if they were a lighter colour less cooking time. Excellent staff and I am amazed at the high standard of cooking from students. Excellent menu.
Has all my fave things in a restaurant - excellent food, light and airy due to the high ceilings and windows, friendly staff and tables set well apart for privacy.
Considering its a training restaurant we found the service very good and though the waiter was initially nervous he performed extremely well.
The standout for me was my entree: Salmon tartare with creme fraiche and lavosh, which was extremely tasty, flavours were well balanced and it was beautifully presented.
Meat main dishes were very tasty with crispy fresh greens and dessert of coconut creme brulee was lovely.
The only downside was when I initially rang and booked the table, I was told that the menu I wanted, which was more seafood based, would be available only on particular
nights of which I had no problems with and so picked one to suit their roster. However when we turned up we were given a completely different menu. I assumed that because there was a large group booking on another table that they needed to spread the menu's and ingredients around but would have liked to have been informed beforehand.
Other than that, it was a great night and the quality of food and ambience at very reasonable prices is outstanding. Will definitely recommend and come back.
Glad to be back at the Apprentice. My husband and I had our wedding at the Apprentice. The food was expertly cooked and the service was very good. Given that we are 'regulars', we will definitely be back.
Wasn’t a fan of the leek but loved everything else
The service and the customer service was truly amazing
Will definitely be back
great way for students to learn.food and service great
This was our third visit to The Apprentice and each time we have had a very pleasant experience. The food is excellent. On this visit two of us had the duck which was cooked perfectly and two had the salmon which also got thumbs up. Some of the service is “different” but that certainly does not detract from the overall experience. Worth a try!
So good and so affordable! Would definitely come back!
The food was delicious and very interesting combinations of taste. I've been coming to The Apprentice for years and have never been disappointed... the food and service have always been excellent, making it great value for money.
I had a lovely tIme, so did my little one also
The food was amazing as well of the staff was outstanding waiting on us. Will definitely be back
Fabulous food that would be served at any fine dining restaurant, service was attentive and not overdone. I will be back!
We celebrated a birthday at the restaurant. The staff could not have been more accommodating, even coming out of the kitchen to sing Happy Birthday. The food was excellent and rivals other 4 star restaurants in the city. I look forward to coming back and highly recommend to everyone. A hidden gem!
as a staff member I have enjoyed a few lunch and dinners at the apprentice and have always had an amazing experience. The food and the students/wait staff have been so friendly and courteous. This time I took my elderly mother and she was so impressed and loved being fussed over by the young waiters. she is now thinking of bringing her ladies group for a lovely lunch, for seniors it is very good value for money and the food presentation and service exceptional. you would not know you were dining in a training environment.
Great experience- it’s fun! The beef was delicious. It’s great to watch the staff being mentored.
A True hidden gem, Everyone that works there is an apprentice. The food is to die for the service is professional and fun and the value for money is exceptional
I always love going to The Apprentice for lunch for value, ambience and food quality - which is outstanding.
Food was fabulous. Service charming, welcoming and efficient. Wine not my favourite.
Great food and service as usual. We have been numerous times and are always impressed.
The quality of the food is generally good thought the last couple of times I have been served cold main courses. This is not appropriate for any restaurant service.
Last Thursday evening the calamari was like cardboard to cut and over cooked.
I was in no way tempted to eat it, far below the standard of "fine Dining ".
While the meals in the past have been at the 5 star level and I have happily booked large tables of guests to accompany me I am will now wait and see if the standard of the meals improves before making any recommendations. .
Whilst visiting Sydney from south of Wollongong we once again took the opportunity to have lunch at TAFE NSW's The Apprentice Restaurant at Ultimo and what a superb dining experience it was yet again. An exceptional job by the cooking and food service students. The selections on offer for entree, main and dessert went together brilliantly. A credit to everyone involved. Thank you.
The staff in my skills team have eaten her many times before. Probably about 12 times in 18 months. It was the best food we have eaten at the Apprentice. Don't get me wrong, It is always great value and lovely food but this last week's meal, Wednesday Sept 11 was superb.
Another great meal. Food was of a high standard and service was efficient and friendly.
I have been to The Apprentice several times - always an enjoyable and delicious experience!
We had a wonderful well presented and tasty meal, great service with a friendly atmosphere.
Thank you for a great lunch we were very impressed keep up the good work!
This is a brilliant concept, giving young people the experience of working in a restaurant while they are training. The food was fabulous and all the waiting staff were polite and accommodating. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would recommend it for sure.
Nice but cannot really call it fine dining. The food is average but good value and the venue is nice!
A unique way to experience good food in a inner city location. Everyone here is learning, so if you go into the experience knowing this you will have a great time! For small fee the hospitality students at TAFE will deliver amazing service and food- the teacher may add a few pointers along the way to them, but this is part of the fun- and you might learn something too! Highly recommend!
Great value for money. Fine dining experience with good ambiance.
Situated on the 7th floor of a building a stone's throw from Central Station, Sydney, The Apprentice Restaurant is an exceptional dining experience. The food is good and the service is tremendous. Only filtered coffee on offer at the end of the meal was my only criticism and a cheese plate would have made a savoury finale to a wonderful dining experience.
