The Alley at The Betsy
It was just...okay. We were looking for a big spot to accommodate our family (10 ppl). Non-pizza options were lacking. The wait staff was sometimes aloof. They put a bucket of ice (to chill wine) in between my wife and i...bc they dont have a floor stand for it. odd.
Do not miss the better-than-in-Rome cacio e pepe. The prices are a great value and everything we ordered really hit the mark. Definitely one of South Beach’s hidden gems!
Order the grilled octopus for something unique and really good
Great food, reminded me of sitting in a restaurant in Florence. Their pizza is delicious.
Great spot for a group of 12. Service was efficient and friendly. Restaurant is situated a cool alley that was decorated with tea lights overhead and in the plants, which gave it a very chic atmosphere. The menu is mostly pizza, but had several pastas and salads as well. Calamari and kale appetizers were my favorite! Would come again.
Great food and amazing service! Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re near by.
Great restaurant. Atmosphere and location is great and the food is delicious.
The most professional server I’ve ever encountered! And the truffle pizza was amazing
One of the better places to get pizza on the beach. Very small spot. Definitely recommend a reservation.
We had a wonderful time at The Alley! Such a cute relaxed place with great food!
The Alley is a hidden gem with some of the best pizzas and salads in Miami. The wine list is quite nice and the prices are very reasonable. The service is absolutely wonderful; professional and attentive.
The restaurant is clean and modern. Like everything at the Betsy - this is a beacon of light on Ocean Drive.
Chicken Al’Mattone is the best item on the dish! Also love their homemade pastas.
We waited 25 minutes and didn’t even receive waters. The food looked good but ultimately we decided we were not going to be waited on and left.
waited 15 minutes for our table but when we complained our server gave us a complementary glass of prosecco.
Food was incredible!!! And service was excellent
Great pizza, salads and cocktails. Fun and lively setting.
Lovely evening at a lovely restaurant. We felt like we were in Rome!
The Alley at the Betsy was great! It's located behind the restaurant. Our server, Joanny, was super nice and attentive. We had the Arugula and Arthur Avenue salads which were great and the pizza was delicious. I like how they leave olive oil on the table. I would definitely go back!
Because of rain, many outdoor diners had to be relocated inside which caused a delay in our reservation time. However, the staff checked on us (kindly offered us drinks) and after ten minutes a table was extended to us. Cocktail menu is unique and fun. This establishment is noted for their popovers...well folks, they continue to please. The steak and snapper meals were cooked to our delight. The wilted spinach is tasty and the gratin potatoes should get good marks. The restaurant was adourned with a monthly theme of pictures, this month was Muhammed Ali. The prices are not for the weak. The staff is attentive. I would recommend The Betsy for a date night, special occasion or if you won the trifecta at the Florida Derby.
Our family enjoyed appetizers and pizza here while on spring break. Great location. We make a point to try the calamari at every restaurant that offers it, and this place had THE BEST sauce we've had. The calamari itself was fantastic as well. They put fried zucchini slices in with it as well as some marinated fresh peppers sprinkled in. Very tasty. The pizzas were good, not out of this world, but they had some creative combinations. The kale salad was very flavorful and generous. Would definitely return sometime!
This new restaurant has changed what was a dark alley into interesting, fun site with the Betsy Orb and writings inscribed on the exterior wall. Once you enter, the ambiance is fun. I have been here many times before. This was the first time I ran into an issue. I ordered the pasta special which came at least 15 minutes after everyone else's meal (we asked what happened to my meal). The meat was overcooked in the pasta and tough. Also, my calamara was chewy. That is the negative. There is more positive, particularly the Kale Ceasar salad. The salad is uniquely delicious and the pizzas are beyond first rate. The pizza pies are not filled with red sauce. The bread or dough and the various toppings taste fresh and delicious. Outside of those two issues, I would recommend the restaurant sitting just off Ocean Drive.
Good pizza and salads, and service was fine.
Interesting small pizza place close to our hotel on Ocean Drive, South Beach. We shared focassia dip, pizza, tiramisu. Was one of lower cost options near the beach.
I was there to attend an Amernet Quartet concert and stopped for a quick meal. And it was wonderful.
Perfect for a casual night out. Pizza & pasta were outstanding as usual!
This was our second visit to The Alley. It was raining thus we had to sit inside. Not many people dining so it was quiet and service more attentive.
Pizzas seemed bigger than last time but very good and a lovely base/crust. A more unusual choice of toppings although no prosciutto which was odd.
Loved the Besty hotel, and the alley is fun atmosphere and location but the service was disappointing and the food just okay. Nothing special. There are so many other options in South Beach..
Our server was so nice and made the experience much more enjoyable. Food was great and had a great brunch date.
We come from nj, so we know good pizza and Italian food. We go out of our way (30-45 minutes drive) to come to the Alley for excellent pizza and appetizers. Love the vintage Beatles and Rolling Stones pics in the restaurant and Betsy Hotel adjoining too. One of our favorite casual meals in Miami area.
Great service and tasty food!
Amazing staff, tasty food, cool vibe in the middle of an alley. What could be better?
We ordered calamari to share for starter and then pizzas. Our very small pizzas were brought to the table first and then moments later the calamari. We told them that we had ordered the calamari to share as a starter and didn’t want to eat it at the same time as the pizzas. The waitress offered to take away the pizzas and bring some others later. We said no leave it. The manager came out shortly afterwards and said that that is what they do - serve everything at the same time. Really!? I doubt it. Why list something as a starter if it isn’t? Anyway, we couldn’t eat the calamari because it was cold. It probably had been sitting in the kitchen and they had forgotten to bring it to our table. We sent it back. They offered to cook some fresh, but it didn’t suit us to have it after the pizza. The pizzas were good but very small.
Although a limited menu what is made can't be any fresher and well prepared.
Quality over quantity at this place.
The steakhouse at the Betsy Hotel was closed for a special event, so I took a chance. I was pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent, there was a great selection of Italian wine by the glass, and the service was excellent. The only small issue was the area that I thought was a bar. It was not useable as such, as it was impossible to provide service from the food/drink side to the customer’s side. There was a short glass barrier in between. It would be nice to see this somehow redesigned, but by no means would this discourage me from returning and sitting at the same spot! Look forward to returning.
Great food, Amazing service and a true pleasure!
Great food, excellent service, lovely time!
El trato super amable! La rapidez y el sabor de la comida muy bueno.
Por $10 dolares puedes usar el valet parking del The Betsey
Perfect for a casual dinner of pizza and pasta. Terrific pizza crust and topping options - we chose crispy kale, onions and Gorgonzola. Delicious! Portion sizes of salad and pasta dishes are ideal for sharing. Nice ambience and our server was so personable. We will be back.
Amazing food! Great service! Awesome experience!
Really honest good food at a reasonable price. The staff is really helpful and you can tell they care about the diner's experience. The chef really knows his food and the freshness is evident. Pretty good wines by the glass.
