Pulling inspiration from the culture that surrounds us and the history that defines us. We welcome you in to our interactive world of casual dining.
The med rare steak was well done. The elk burger overcooked and dry. Fries were great. No bread served on arrival. Menu selection was skimpy
Another wonderful experience at the Albion Rooms! Love the atmosphere, the friendly staff and the food. One of our favorite places to go.
The ambiance was good, just not the food. Ordered the charcuterie and fish & chips. The fries were soggy and the fish, hmm... Had better
Good quality food and drinks. Really like the patio. We will be back.
Carte modeste mais très bon ! On y revient.
Excellent service and delicious food. One of the best Manhattans I have had in ages. Can’t wait to return.
I am a big fan of Albion Rooms taking many guests there over the years. However, I was very disappointed with the summer menu selection. More like pub food than the fine dining I have expected. The website did not give any indication that the menu would be so restricted. We most likely would not have gone if we had seen the limited selection. A suggestion is that you indicate on the website what the menu looks like going forward.

Hello Patricia, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Our current/reduced menu has been displayed on our official website since we re-opened in Mid-June. Unfortunately the older menu is still displayed on our opentable page. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'm sure you can understand the need to offer limited menu options in the current global pandemic. We strive to offer a fresh and exciting dining experience in a safe and COVID responsible space.
Great hide away in the downtown sector. Great vibe and drinks/food. Exceptional staff/service.
The wait staff was so nice, the patio is gorgeous, and they took all the necessary precautions for COVID
Greeted right as we got in, ans very friendly. They had masks and we were seated inside right away (was raining and made a reservation). Ordered 2 glasses of wine which came on time and 2 x elk burgers with fries. The fries were so good, and the burgers had great flavour. My partner stated his patty was a bit dry, but mine was good. We agreed we would come back again for drinks with friends (within reason).
Excellent service, handling things efficiently with theor pandemic set up. Patio is lovely.
We had a wonderful meal and was particularly fond of their charcuterie board. The host took the time to go through each of the portions of the board for us and was extremely nice to talk to.
There was a nice ambiance seated outside on the patio.
Service was a bit slow and after the initial check to make sure everything's okay after our main plates were served to us, the staff seemed to disappear for the majority of the night making it difficult to get refills and order or inquire anything else.
Fantastic food, service and ambiance as usual, even during COVID. My only minor complaint is that the seats were not very comfortable though we ended up sitting longer than anticipated. Otherwise, great all around!
We have always enjoyed coming to the Albion Rooms , whether for brunch, drinks or a meal. This last time did not disappoint either. We were warmly greeted on the patio and seated in a wonderful area just for 2. We tried some new dishes, the grilled asparagus was outstanding as was the grilled bitter greens ... all great accompaniments for our steak. Our drinks (Manhattan and Cabernet Sauvignon) hit the spot. We will be back.
The Albion Rooms did not disappoint! Their cocktails are as amazing as ever and their patio menu was perfect to satisfy our cravings. The service is what stands out. We felt safe and comfortable being away from the busy Byward Market and well distanced from the next tables.
Absolutely wonderful dinner! Our server brought a special surprise dessert to the table for my partner’s birthday which was absolutely lovely. Great experience all around.
Very unique menu. Great service, calm atmosphere.
This was a great find. We loved the sheltered (shaded) patio with well-distanced tables. The abbreviated menu had a number of great choices. Staff were carefully sanitizing everything between seatings. Thanks to server Sara (Sarah?), hiding behind her mask, for taking such good care of us. This might be our new favourite spot in Ottawa.
My friend and I are both vegetarian. We thought the eggplant dish was delicious ! We would happily return if there were more vegetarian options on the menu. There is only one small plate which is vegetarian. It would be great if there were more options for us. You would see us more often. (I know other vegetarians would love the restaurant if there were more options.)
The wine selection is good but very pricey! A smalll glass of wine costs at least $13. I would like there to be a choice of 5 or 8 oz. glasses of wine and a respectable house wine at a more affordable price.
Food is excellent! I was sad to hear the scotch egg is no longer on the menu... the atmosphere is really nice and the service is great.
It wasn’t awful but I was less than impressed overall. The reservation said it was for a celebratory night with my wife, and I had preordered a bottle of wine. We got there and nothing was set up, we were sat at a table surrounded by little kids (Not sure why an expensive restaurant like that had so many kids at 8:30 at night but three of the tables surrounding us had five kids between them), I had to re-order the wine since nobody was on top of that then it turns out that the wine I asked for (which had significance to my wife) was all out. The charcuterie and appetizers we had were quite good, the entrées were so – so, dessert was not worth the money.
At that price points I have been to a dozen better restaurants in Ottawa… We won’t be attending that one again
Birthday celebration with my friend. Service and food was outstanding. We’ll defend be back!
Great food. A bit on the pricey side when compared to comparable quality elsewhere. Overall great experience.
The Albion room was fantastic, from the ambiance to the food! Also the portion sizes were great - definitely felt full after this meal! We will be back!
Excellent ambience and amazing food. Accommodated a special menu for us, given I mistakenly thought the Valentine’s Day set menu was for all weekend. Amazing flavours and excellent wine pairings.
Since leaving this restaurant, I’ve told everybody about this place. I’m definitely going back and will recommend this place for everyone’s downtown dining.
Excellent Charcuterie and farm-to-table menu options. Small plates or full entrees, something for everyone. We enjoyed trying some new things - the elk burger and “seed to sausage” bacon was delicious. Thanks for a great evening!
We had a wonderful dinner - loved the new menu! Always a great atmosphere and friendly staff!
Just in for a drink, but what a beautiful drink it was. Able to have a quiet conversation. Comfy chairs and unobtrusively efficient service.
Food was great but service was lacking. Our waitress rarely came over and seemed not to care about our table. Our hostess was way more helpful and way better attitude.
We were there at 2pm on a Sunday for a girls brunch. It was quiet and we had a lovely table with excellent service. We all enjoyed our meals: The Albion was delicious, as was The Smoked Fish (large wedge of smoked salmon), and Potatoes, Bacon & Eggs, all with an amazing presentation. We all loved the Signature Cocktails. They were interesting and delicious. We will definitely come back.
Fantastic craft cocktails, great service, excellent food. Worth the visit.
Enjoyed my New Year's Eve dinner here. However, we were first disappointed when we requested a window seat and were told all the empty ones were reserved but they all remained empty during our entire time there (and we had reservations too). The charcuterie was good but I did not like my main dish at all. My date's meal was overly salty. I was looking forward to their cocktails but I was honestly disappointed by the menu so I ordered a glass of wine instead.
Lovely Christmas Day dinner.
I had a great brunch with my mum and sister - the menu had some creative and delicious options! I have loved Albion Rooms for lunch and dinner but this is definitely amazing for brunch as well!
La nourriture était excellent, le service agréable et l'atmosphère très relaxante, parfaite pour un brunch
An excellent place to have a calm and relaxed dinned with friends. We were there as a group of 3 couples, and the ambiance reminded us of a cozy scene from the series Friends. The kind of place you want to just sit, relax and enjoy the evening with good food. This was our second visit to the Albion Rooms and we will definitely return.
Great food and awesome service. No complaints at all. Would highly recommend to friends/family.
How does the restaurant deal with problems? One meal came with hot meat and stone cold vegetables. Kitchen dealt with problem promptly, not just placing plate in microwave, but replating the sides.
Cocktails were a highlight.
Incredibly slow service! There was a giant party, but they should have had adequate staff. Took 20 min to get a drink. Not once during the meal did our waiter check in on us. The fools gold cocktail was not good (like a weak old fashioned with pineapple juice). Overall, spent $$ and over 3 hours for a charcuterie board- not worth it.
