Einstein once said “To keep your balance you must keep moving.” In this vein the Albert strives to embrace the eclectic and the seasonal. With an eye on aesthetic, our food and our cocktails serve to playfully present the familiar in a distinctly creative fashion - crafted with global influence and Midwestern ingredients.
Interesting food, atmosphere, service was attentive, definitely a good choice
Went during weekday lunch so very quiet. Imagine it would be different on a weekend night! Food was great... menu was difficult to understand so had to ask a lot of questions. Cool space.
Absolutely delicious. Recommendations spot on!! Go for a dinner or fabulous cocktails and appetizers !
Thank you Elaine! We hope to see you soon!
Service was very poor. Ten minutes before waitress showed up. Our gift card wasn’t activated even though they said it would be. Big hunks of hair on the floor next to my chair. It was disgusting. Waitress too busy chatting with another table to provide check. Food not as described for brunch...ie when we asked if the Benedict came with poached eggs, we were told yes, and they came out fried. $47 for breakfast and the whole experience was awful.
My favorite place when you need to go to the doctor.
We highly recommend dinner at The Albert. The rabbit sausage porridge and sachetti were flavorful and perfect portions. The service is highly professional, courteous, and clear about the menu. Make The Albert one of your Chicago dining experiences, and stay at the Hotel EMC2 too.

Dinner was wonderful! And the food is super unique!
What a great place! Food is excellent, staff and service very passionate and knowledgeable, and the ambience just beautiful. Despite the busy night, service was great even though we sometimes had to wait. Thanks to the atmosphere and overall this was no problem though. Happy Days!

Amazing evening. We had the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairings. They were able to switch out one of the courses which was really accommodating. Everything that touched the table was amazing, great flavor combinations, really interesting presentations. The service was top notch. Just an A+ experience. I will be back.
Excellent food and cocktail assortment. The live music in the evening can get a bit loud, but it was a delightful experience
Service was awful. 40 minutes without drinks. $50 dollar bottle of white wine we had to wait on to be chilled. Found a hair in my pasta. The hostess was on her phone the entire time instead of trying to help the rest of the inept staff keep it together.
Disappointing. Service was slow and inconsistent, food was cold and many of our dishes were missing ingredients. Would not recommend.
We had great food and really enajoyed the place!
I’ve had excellent lunches at The Albert but this is my first time having dinner. The food was unique and excellent with excellent presentation.
The Albert is nice, not extraordinary. I went there for Sunday brunch, which is a la carte ordering. The Prosciutto Benedict was tasty. Wine list was okay; cocktail offerings seemed more well-conceived.
But, really, is that the best you can do?
The food & drinks were amazing, our waitress did a complete rundown of the amazing menu, & it was the perfect place to slowly enjoy your meal while spending time with friends.
One of the best - yet least-hyped meals in Chicago. This place should be on all of Chicago's lists for top restaurants. The presentation is impeccable and the food is fantastic. I would highly recommend.
I went here to celebrate a friends birthday and we were all blown away. Chef Larry even came out with some of the food and described it. Great flavor combinations , beautiful presentation, and great atmosphere. I highly recommend checking them out as I plan to go back often.
The food was delicious and the cocktails were very unique. Our only complaint was the AC was a little too cold for us.
Excellent tasting menu and wine pairing. Superb service. Interesting decor and nice for a special occasion
Amazing service. Shane was our server and he was almost the best part of the whole experience, but the food was really the highlight. Had a martini with sesame oil that was interesting and delicious. Octopus is a must have as a starter. 3 of us had the bass as our entree and loved it. Overall, best dinner in Chicago this week.
Pretty disappointing. Made an afternoon reservation for my wife’s birthday. It was apparent right away that they hadn’t looked at the open table note about the special occasion. Whatever big deal. We sit down and after 15 minutes, it takes us having to ask the busboy to please flag down our server in order to come and take our order. At this point, the restaurant only had 2 other tables with patrons inside. We ordered 2 drinks and one sandwich to share. Thankfully it was brought by a new server this time who was more attentive. The chicken sandwich came as fried chicken between slices of untoasted white bread. We needed to ask for mustard aioli and ketchup right away to give it some kind of sauce and flavor. If you’re charging $16 for a sandwich, why are you making it look like something that’s served at a school cafeteria? Immediately you could tell that the chicken had been frozen beforehand. The fries that came with the sandwich were slightly underdone as well, again probably frozen and not baked long enough. Having been disappointed with the food and the service thus far, I went inside and asked the hostess if the restaurant does anything special for birthdays/anniversaries (to try and salvage something out of this occasion) to which she contemplated that question for a good minute right in front of me, and then said would ask our server to see what could be done. 10 minutes later, our new server comes by and asks us if we want anything for dessert, as clearly my earlier conversation with the hostess and had went no where. We said no and the check would be fine. Our server gives us the check and then proceeds to pick up the signed check 2 minutes later while we’re still sitting down finishing our conversation and drinks. Why are you rushing people out when you only have 2 of your 30 tables occupied? From the quality of the food, strange waitstaff, and the definite “no no’s” during service, this restaurant was a complete disappointment.
Food was mediocre. My friends ordered the chicken sandwich, you can tell it was frozen chicken. I wouldn’t recommend this place especially knowing there are so many good eateries around the area. Out of 8 restaurants we went to in two days, this was our leat favourite, and it wasn’t cheap either
The service was friendly & attentive, the food really exceptionally delicious and the wine list good and reasonable without being over the top.
Would seek out The Albert the next time we’re in Chicago. Food, drinks,& service were spot-on.
I enjoyed a quiet lunch at this restaurant. The waitstaff was pleasant. The room was very cool. I will definitely try it again, maybe in the evening.
Rabbit was a Little salty
Very creative meal by the kitchen team! We had the ore-fix meal and enjoyed their culinary expertise. Our server was also very, very knowledgeable with the ingredients of the menu. We enjoyed our evening!
Great food, great service. Tasting menu is worth it.
Excelente. Nada más que decir
Fantastic experience! Small, intimate restaurant with interesting decor and attentive service!
It was my 1st time here after having reviewed Yelp and several other restaurant-review sites. I was treating a friend for her birthday! Service was stellar. The menu can be intimidating because it’s not obvious what the dishes are and what ingredients are in each dish. My friend has an onion allergy which we notified the server of. The server explained each dish (a few we asked twice!). She was patient and really excited about each dish.
We ordered 2 appetizers: the bread (delish) and a salad to share. When the salad came out it had onions in it… The server realize it before my friend even noticed it or we even put our fork in the bowl. Immediately she had another salad prepared at no additional charge for my friend.
As we were enjoying Our salads, we struck up a conversation with a different server… I think his name was Manuel. We were just chatting, and he mentioned the octopus which I had seen rave reviews about but we had not ordered. He basically told us it would be foolish to come to this restaurant and not try the barbecued octopus. He convinced us. We ordered it and we did not regret it. It was very memorable and quite tasty.
Our entrées were excellent. We had the lobster covered in pasta and the stone bass with purple potato purée.
Outstanding food, especially the warm bread ($6), which was freshly baked and came with cultured butter. Lamb presse was also pretty good, but slightly too salty.
Wonderful experience at the Albert. The food and cocktails were delicious and the staff incredibly friendly and accommodating.
Service was next to nothing. Food did not come out together or coordinated. Felt abandoned by our waiter and had to find him to get the check.
Great place, gorgeous decorations and beautiful all around. Great date spot. Service was good too.
However, I went for lunch and the lunch menu is not that great. Could use some more options and some more diversity in the lunch menu.
This restaurant is attractive and food is presented attractively but just doesn’t deliver an experience worthy of more than two stars. This is really a bar. Drinks are very good. Service was intrusive. I don’t recommend for dining.
Great place for quick lunch.
We had the grilled chicken sandwich and the tomato soup. I don’t normally care for tomato soup but it was the best I’ve ever had. Fantastic dining experience.
The food was incredible and presentation was amazing. Shane, our server, was an absolute delight and would definitely be one of the reasons to return.
The cocktails are creative and inventive, and the atmosphere is whimsical.
Very nice restaurant that we have eaten in several times. Love the hotel and especially the Albert, for not being your typical cliche hotel restaurant. Cool dining room & excellent food, with an interesting wine list. Service was great.
