Thai Square South Kensington
While visitors love our outdoor seating and Southeast Asian décor, which mixes traditional and modern elements, what they enjoy the most about the dining experience is the food itself. Our chefs use the freshest ingredients available to carefully prepare each menu item. Favourites include the Pad Thai and Thai Green Curry, but you’ll have to visit to find the dish you fancy the most. Be sure to stay up to date on our latest London restaurant deals as well.

The place was very congested and there was no proper ventilation
We were sat downstairs and it feels a little cramped but it was ok for a lunch date with hubby. The waitress insisted we check in via the nhs app in front of her which I think was very good. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they were still doing eat out to help out up to £10 each off the bill which was great. The non veg starters were delicious! My husband ordered pad Thai and I had the green curry which was a little too spicy for me. We also had a prawn dish which was very tasty. With drinks came to about £45ish which included the discount and service charge. Will definitely go back but bear in mind it’s very small space downstairs and you can hear everyone’s conversations etc. And toilet is up three flights of stairs so I didn’t bother using the loo.
I usually love visiting Thai Square restaurants, my favourites bring the Wig and Pen (currently closed) and Somerset House locations. This Kensington venue is sadly not to their usual high standards. The actual restaurant layout is good and was exceptionally clean. The staff attentive, polite and friendly.
The food badly let it down and I believe it was reheated and not cooked fresh. My children who usually devour the Pad Thai left alot and said thy bodies were soft and unpalatable. My Pad Ped Mamuang was lukewarm with overcooked onion and pepper. The steamed jasmine rice was dry. Such a shame as i lovethe food usually from this chain but I would not visit this particular branch again. Not good value for money on this occasion and I hope this was just an off day for Thai Square.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, friendly staff and quick service !
Nice relaxing lunch day outside. The green curry was spicy today
Very welcoming staff, a little to over tentative because I felt as if I was watched through every bite and they just wanted to take my plate away.
But I am very happy love the food and service and quality was nice.
Thank you for having me. I will be back again.

Very good, as usual
When we arrived the ground floor was busy and rather chaotic and there was no record of our booking. However we were soon seated on the second floor and ordered the set menu. The service was prompt and the food delicious. Would definitely visit again.
Food was ok at best but lacked the freshness and flair of truly great Thai food. Service was functional but impersonal and rushed. Very expensive and not worth it
Much smaller and with amore cosy ambience than other so the Thai Square group, the South Kensington branch has a similar menu and the night we were there the food was fine. There is also an upstairs room, with a similar small footprint to the downstairs, but not as cosy.
The food is good at Thai Square but as in other branches of this restaurant chain the service is not up to the same standard. A very long wait between the starter and main course. For our party of four, three mains finally arrived, only luke warm , not helped by cold plates, but mine only arrived when everyone else had finished...Disappointing.
We were going to the Royal Albert Hall for a concert and so this was really convenient. Happily we enjoyed our food!
I have been to this restaurant many times, and have always been happy with the experience. However, on this occasion, I was very disappointed and will not be returning.
I booked through OpenTable - the restaurant could not even find my reservation when we arrived there. They allocated us a table in a tight corner, which was hot and humid. There was only one AC in the room - far away from our table, near the main door. We asked to be moved upstairs, as we were feeling stuffy. The waiters refused, as they needed to "fill the tables downstairs first" , despite the fact we were sweating and I had a prior reservation (which they couldn't find).
We ordered our food - starters and main courses, and specified that the starters be served first (naturally). Our first choice of starter was not available. The waiter soon came and told me that all the mains had been prepared so they would serve everything together! I was truly annoyed by this point! Why should we have everything together? By then, we were melting in the heat! I insisted that we are given the starters first, which he reluctantly did.
We asked to be moved to another table when we saw other guests leave - by then, our enjoyment was completely ruined. Each time we put our cutlery on the plate, even though there was still so much food in front of us the waiters would ask if we had finished and try to take our plates away! I had to refuse every time, as we were still eating!
The food is always good at this restaurant, thus we went back again. But after our latest experience, we will not be returning. I really am unhappy with the service we received - wholly unacceptable. We went to a different restaurant for tea and dessert and had a very pleasant time there.
Decent food however, poor ambience/decor. No air-con which wasn't great with the recent heatwave! This isn't like the other Thai Squares I've been to
Good food, and service. big menu and lots of appetising items.
This is o e of the worst meals I have had in a long time!
Tasteless, horrible and it doesn’t feel fresh.
We were three people and ordered six different things and they were all horrible unfortunately!
A small but cosy restaraunt. If you have difficulty in walking/climbing stairs ask for a downstairs table. I mentioned when booking that it was my Sister's birthday and they gave us free of charge a lovely chocolate dessert- a lovely touch.
I thought our latest visit to Thai Square, South Kensington, was the least impressive of the times we have eaten there. The food was fresh and hot, but somewhat lacking in the usual flavour. It might have been due to our choice of dishes, but the spicing was not up to its normal level. Would still return for a pre-concert meal however.
Great experience. Booked for 16 people and the food and service was great!
Thai Square on Exhibition Road is our usual port of call before going to a Prom. It was even better this time as they have added wonderful soft shell crab to the menu.
Poor food for too high price
Staff were attentive. We have previously dined at Putney Thai Square which was fantastic, this is the reason we liked this brand. Unfortunately this time did not live up to expectations. Value for money it is not, extremely expensive for what you get. Starters are average, Main courses seem to be tasteless and not well executed. We won't be dining at any Thai Square restaurants again.
Not good service with rude staff. Will not return to this branch.
Cannot really review the restaurant as, despite booking through Openable and over the phone there was no table reserved for us on arrival. We went elsewhere.
A good place to meet friends after work. Efficient service, good food. A regular place for me
It's an ok place to go for convenience but the food is not that good. We were at the RGS for a talk and went here afterwards for dinner. Would not come here especially for a meal but might do so if we have to go to the RGS for another event or unless I can find something better nearby.
always good quality Thai food at Thai Square on Exhibition Road. A great place for a pre-concert nosh.
We went for a late dinner after a lecture, the food is good and this location is perfect if you want to catch some food after the numerous exhibitions/museums in this area. However it is very small compared to the other Thai Square's and can feel a little cramped in but perfect for the location and a quick dinner with good food.
We went here before going to the Royal Albert Hall for a show. Quite a small restaurant set over two floors but still managed an ambience. The menu had a good selection of set menus as well as a la carte with all the normal thai dishes and some specials. The Duck in Tamarind sauce was lovely. Food orders were taken promptly and they turned around meals very quickly which suited us down to the ground. The food was well presented not the largest of portions but very tasty.
Unfortunately we were crammed in upstairs, next to a very noisy group and right by the toilet, but we enjoyed our meal very much.
One night in London, and I feel we wasted it on this place. We wanted a nice conventional restaurant, bit of atmosphere but ended up squeezed next to other diners in a place no bigger than Granny's larder.
In future I will only use this app to book places I know - lesson learned.
Great for bringing a group of friends and get some great food at decent price. Don't count too much on ambience. The decor has become dated, we were seated next to boxes of beers. Feels a bit like china town cheap eats. But if you just want good food and beer then this it for you!
Was disappointed after reading some pretty positive reviews on Open Table. Staff were not warm and wecoming, food was very average eg. Pad Thai was very poor, tables much too small to accomodate dishes and crammed together too close, and all in all not value for money! I guess you are paying for location but won't do so again!
Decent spot to go for lunch with a group. The service was very good, and everyone enjoyed their food. It wasn't an exceptional experience, but I'd certainly be happy to return!
Too many people think they have tasted Thai food once they walked into any restaurant which claim to be serving Thai food. However as someone who's not from Thai, I can vouch that Thai Square is as authentic as it can gets. Once you eat here, you will never go back to those commercialised, westernised Thai food chain.
It was ideal for a pre-show dinner when we went to The Royal Albert Hall. The set menu was delicious, we had 3 courses and a bottle of wine for around £70.
We love Thai Square and look forward to eating there each time we are in London, but the S Kensington location is a bit of a disappointment. The waitresses are very pushy to take your order, clear your table (while you are eating), and then have you out the door as soon as you have finished your last mouthful. The drinks menu is not like the other Thai Square chains, so if you like a good cocktail, this is not the restaurant for you. Also, the waiter never asked how spicy we wanted our meals so when we received our set menus the spiciness was too much that my nose started running into the meal. I would give this restaurant a 5 out of 10, whereas any other Thai Square is very close to a perfect 10. Seems they don't like children either!
Reasonable thai food in South Kensington. However definitely felt very rushed by the staff to finish out meal.
A bit noisy and staff stressed as there were a few large groups that night. Food very good.
Nothing special and over priced for what you get. Seabass came so quickly it could have been from the next table. Never in favour of service being added to the bill prior to paying. It's in south kensington in a prime location so simply can be as it is because will always get a steady stream of tourists
