What an awesome find! I had to get the brisket. It was super moist and lean, and the pickled onions and pickles to go with it was a nice touch as well. Next time, I will get the Huevos Rancheros, because those look good as well!
Great food. Super fast and attentive service!
Caught up with a group of friends. We really enjoyed the food and the staff couldn’t have been nicer - GiGi was the best!
We wanted to try out the place. BBQ wasn’t bad but nothing exceptional. As Texans, our BBQ standards are hard to meet, but this place was ok. Wasn’t too impressed with the Mac N Cheese. It was way salty and there was nothing remarkable about it - could have quite literally come out of the box. The banana pudding was terribly artificial and bland. For the price, we definitely won’t be back.
It’s gone downhill in food quality over the past few visits.
Texas Jack’s remains our go-to for delicious brisket. Every time I try that dish elsewhere, I’m let down. TJ’s has nailed that perfect peppered crust and especially on the sandwich pairs it with fabulous queso and onions. Wow!
Love the Salmon special.
Best BBQ in Arlington. Our waiter was attentive but not overbearing and the food was delicious!
Place was hopping on a Friday evening. Great barbecue and service. Brisket and ribs were fab.
Excellent bbq and good atmosphere. Found something for everyone on the menu, including for young kids and picky eaters. Would definitely go back!
I'm from the south. Definitely not southern BBQ. However still tasty.
Exceptional barbecue. Our order arrived in under 10 minutes. The $49 4-person sampler was half price on Monday - a deal. The Brussels sprouts side order was great, as was the cornbread.
Excellent food and service. I will definitely be back for more! The brussel sprouts and brisket is a MUST!!
Brisket tacos were DELICIOUS! The deviled eggs and kale Caesar salad were great too!
The DC area's best barbecue ! They keep their menu fresh and interesting, always trying to improve. One suggestion, please bring back the turkey, it was great!
We dined on a Sunday evening. The brisket was dried out instead of moist and the restaurant ran out of their delicious esquites side dish. It was only 7:00pm!
We had the nachos and 2 rib meals and they were really good.
Great barbecue! Everything is goood! The pulled pork, pulled chicken and brisket taco! The brisket sandwich! The crispy chicken sandwich. Finger licking good! The pickles and slaw. You won’t be disappointed. Just be aware of the valet parking is to a minimal of maybe 10 spots so street parking it is!
Food was amazing. Everything came out perfectly, and in a timely manner considering it was packed. I will definitely be back!
Service not good
We love eating here, as it's the closest to getting Texas BBQ from home! The nachos with pork are a must and try the side of brussel sprouts! Service is attentive. We enjoyed eating at the kitchen counter and seeing the action!
Absolutely!!! Don’t pass on this. Everything, food, drinks and service was incredible.
The food was adequate. Did not blow me away.
Came here yesterday for a business lunch with a friend. We decided to do a single short-rib (trust me, these ribs are anything but short and range from 1.5-2.5 lbs), 1lb of brisket, and 1/2lb of rope sausage. Everything was good but I think the star was the brisket. Not dry at all (which is a common issue with brisket) and we'll seasoned, if a bit more fatty than I like. We accompanied the meats with the larger offering of Brussel Sprouts which were some of the better sprouts I've had in recent memory - crisp and accompanied by bacon and shredded parmesan.
The service was great. Our server walked us through options and explained what he thought might be a good fit for our preferences. He also checked in with us regularly but without interrupting our conversation.
The ambiance of the place is nice too. It's a large open floorplan separated into two rooms, one of which has a very nice bar (that's the one where we sat). I will definitely come back in the future.
Authentic Texan food, delicious. Great service.
Got the brisket nachos. They were delicious beyond belief.
I made a reservation; however it wasn't honored. The manager reported an unanticipated rush, so we had to wait. We were eventually seated in what appeared to be a private event space with a few other patrons. Our server started out doing pretty well; however when the other patrons finished and cleared out, we were seemingly forgotten. We were given complimentary dessert as a result of this. The bbq was pretty good. I had pork spare ribs and my bf had the brisket.
I had dinner with son and his friend. We appreciated the valet parking on arrival. Food was excellent Son had full chicken, friend had beef brisket and I had pulled pork. All very pleased. I was especially pleased when I received the bill.....VERY Reasonable!!!! We shall return.
Very disappointed. We found the meat dry & tough for the most part. Only the sausage was cooked well. I didn't care for the seasoning but the texture should have been spot on. I did notice that the table next to us had meat that looked more inviting. Since we were on the early side for dinner service, I'm guessing we were served from earlier batch. The sides were tasty & service was good.
Texas Jacks is one of our regulars so it always hits the mark. I noticed this time that the dessert menu had changed from the bite sized mason jar desserts to just pies. Although it may be a good idea and a change from the norm, the mason jar desserts are preferred. The chocolate mousse pie I had was topped with marshmallows which gave the mousse/marshmallow a strange texture. Also the bottom crust was so crispy I had to use a knife to cut through it. The mason jar desserts were just better tasting. Please bring them back.
There’s nothing better than delicious BBQ in a relaxed environment with fantastic service. Four of us (including a very observant and selective nine-year-old) enjoyed an early dinner here on New Year’s Eve. The BBQ was spot on, each side was freshly prepared and delicious and the beer selection had a nice range. We will definitely be back!
PS the bar area is fantastic. I kind of wish I lived within walking distance because I can definitely see myself being a regular here.
Everything was good except that the food was cold and dry when they served it.
This was our second time at Texas Jacks, with some items the same and a few new ones. Our favorites are the brisket, pulled pork, and smoked turkey. The ribs on this night alternated between very dry and too fatty, and our least favorite both times was the sausage. Compared to the other meats, the sausage lacked depth in both flavor and texture. Our favorite sides were the brussel sprouts, green beans and the corn dish. We found the collard greens too salty. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful on both of our visits.
Excellent food. Great service. Will definitely dine again.
Our first time! THE MOST delicious brisket...equally impressive Mac and cheese, pulled pork nachos and margaritas! We were there on a very, very busy night (did everyone read the Washington Post article or TJ’s is always popular for happy hour?) however; the service was superb and efficient. Looking forward to our next visit to try a different menu item. Aren’t we lucky to have this restaurant in Arlington?!
Met friends from college we don't get to see often. Folks were gone for the holidays. Had way too many drinks hence the high noise rating. Way too many shots, hence the low value rating. The food n service was excellent. Beer tap could be better. Apparently we killed 3 beer tap. We might off. Don't remember much except the food was delicious! Happy Holidays everyone.
