You won’t be disappointed having dinner here! The food was outstanding!! Service was wonderful and the ambience great. Really looking forward to going back again.
We love this place- it's our go-to before a show at the Ridgefield Playhouse. The outdoor patio is quiet and relaxing; drinks are creative; food is perfect with a good amount of vegetarian options (the cauliflower pasta is an unexpectedly delicious favorite!). Yummy desserts as well followed by a complimentary biscotti and shot of 'chococello'. Friendly and good service. Highly recommend!
Over priced. The food is not all that imaginative and does not reflect the price they charge. It’s not bad but one walks away feeling a bit unsatisfied. I would not rush back.
The dishes are freshly prepared and delicately served. I loved the Chilean Sea Bass with Peruvian mashed potatoes. My husband had the Veal and he also found it delicious.
We highly recommend this restaurant
I have never had a bad meal there always the best !
Meals here are always more than satisfying. They are enjoyable. This is the best restaurant in the entire area. Beer menus are creative, the specials entirely worthwhile Heating and not simply an attempt of the restaurant to use up leftovers. Their treatment of seafood is unusual. Is always fresh. Vegetables are presented in often different fashions. My wife had a vegetable Carbonaro which was creative and delicious. Gazpacho was prevented tonight made of yellow tomatoes which I have never seen before but which was very delicious. Staff support is provided like a well oiled machine which is undoubtedly enhanced by the presence of the two owners most of the time.
Excellent meal, as always! This is our must-go for date night. We will be back soon.
As always a delicious and wonderful meal!!
A perfectly prepared, creative menu where everything is meticulously presented.
We always have a great dining experience at TerraSole
We had wonderful service. We had traveled to the winery where one of the Italian Chianti wines was from. We mentioned it to our waiter as we ordered a bottle and soon another waiter came to our table who was from the region. It was a pleasure to speak with him.
Excellent food! Felt like we were back in Tuscany! Sage Seafood Ravioli and Tagliatelle Bolognese were wonderful as was the salad and signature appetizer. Of course we enjoyed the wine!!
Excellent service, delicious menu with outstanding and creative specials always available. Good wine selections.
Thank you, LoveItalian. Our owner loves being creative. Right now he is doing creative things with pistachios. :)
I’ve been to TerraSole many times for lunch and had really enjoyed it - so we decided to go for dinner before a show at the playhouse...... OY!
Our server had no time from us right from the beginning - offering to take our drink order and then before we could place it he excused himself, ran off to do something else. The entire night followed a similar cadence. We mentioned that we had show tickets as we were trying to order drinks and that we were to be comped either a dessert or glass of wine - he was too busy to hear this and when the bill came the $16 dessert was on there. Then, he had the nerve to say that we hadn’t mentioned it.....
Funny enough, when we needed the bill so we could pay and get to the show, he was nowhere to be found.
Enough about the service, the food was underwhelming, the fish overcooked and uninspiring - especially for the price.
Long story short - i won’t go back for dinner.
This is an outstanding restaurant- food, service, friendliness, everything!!!
We all enjoyed our dishes and our waiter was outstanding. Well worth it.
Food and service was amazing. Welcomed by the manager who checked on us throughout. Very impressed by the food presentation and flavors. Can't wait to go back, great experience.
The staff was wonderful, personable, attentive and on it.
Love the atmosphere. I felt that I was somewhere far away.
Food was thoughtfully done. Attention to detail when playing and food itself was very good.
As always TerraSole delivered. Great Service from the staff! Highly recommend.
Ajro - Wow! Thank you! So very grateful.
Wonderful Father’s Day meal at our go-to place for beautifully prepared refined Italian food using incredibly fresh ingredients. Top notch service makes it a mini-vacation.
Christine: OMG THANK YOU! That is exactly what we want - for you to feel like you are on vacation - pampered and relaxed. Thank you!
So this is a difficult one. I really want to love Terra Sole as it's a great space and always has a fun vibe. However, I'm not a seafood lover so I always feel very limited by the seafood-heavy menu. Yes there are a few other options but I'm now bored by them, even though they're tasty. And I have to complain that the last few times, the service has been very slow. Even our waiter was heard asking where our order was as we waited almost one hour for our entrees. For the hefty price tag on a meal at Terra Sole, I still always feel underwhelmed by my experience. (And I'm sorry but $55 for veal milanese is ridiculous) I think the restaurant could be improved if the variety on the menu was spiced up a bit and if the kitchen can get their act together for faster service. It's a great location with a friendly atmosphere and the food is good, don't get me wrong. It's just a very pricey evening for a less than exciting menu.
Mimi - thank you for the review! Yes, we do have a heavy offering of fresh seafood especially during he summer. in regards to our pricing - we never, ever skimp on ingredients and we buy the best possible ingredients - often local and organic when possible. Some of our cheeses for example, are small batch unique cheeses that are very hard to find in the U.S. We do have a bar menu from 3 pm to 6 pm and we do serve a very affordable 3 course lunch every day for $22.
Terra Sole has never disappointed. Great wine, cheese selections, specials and desserts -- and whether there for lunch or dinner, it is always amazing. Pietro and all the wait staff always make us feel welcome, whether it's been a week or 4 months since we've been there (we live a bit far away). When the weather is warm the outside seating provides a cozy atmosphere. At our most recent visit we had the special lobster gazpacho. It was a delicious take on a classic and great for the summer. I had the lasagna special, which was a meat lasagna with a white truffle sauce. It was very flavorful yet delicate. The zabaglione sauce was delicious (although I prefer mine made warm at the table side, it still is something I'd order again), and my husband loved the tiramisu he ordered. I topped off my dinner with Pietro's chocolate espresso "cello." A truly memorable evening!
Thank you, Anne. You are making the effort to travel to us, and we will strive to give you a perfect experience every time.
Pre Fathers Day
Hope your experience was super special!
We went in for a late meal after seeing a play and, it being Fairfield County, we half-expected the place to be closed. But they were open, and the service was consummately gracious and charming. The food was exceptional; well-prepared Italian classics as well as more inventive seasonal fare. My only regret is that we didn’t save quite enough room for dessert. We look forward to returning!
Oyollum - what a great review! Come back soon!
Beautiful patio with plenty of privacy between tables and excellent attentive service. Food is superior quality, fresh, inventive and very Italian. Not Italian American. If you’re looking for an upscale dining experience with a casual vibe this is the best in Ridgefield/Danbury area. Worth a visit. Love the owner Pietro Polini. He ensures a perfect dining experience
Thank you, Foodie. You really get us.
We went for brunch and the menu is not really called brunch but Lite Bite lunch. The menu advertised 3 courses for $22 per person. They also offered it for $47 if you wanted select bottomless cocktails. We just wanted one cocktail with our brunch and made that clear with our waiter. We thoroughly enjoyed our first and second course. Our waiter came out with a complementary limoncello and a biscotti. Everything was very delicious and the ambiance was very welcoming. After receiving our check we were charged $17 per cocktail which was a bellini and a mimosa. I was a bit shocked at this and disappointed. I could see maybe $10-$12 but I thought this was extremely over priced. I am happy to return but I will ask for pricing on EVERYTHING I order up front.
First time dining here and absolutely loved everything about it. The staff is incredible and the food is amazing. Wish we had found this place earlier. We will definitely be back.
Food always 5 stars. Service was spotty thus evening. Ate on patio always a treat. Highest prices in Ridgefield so reason for value rating..
Have been to TerraSole many times and each time have been wonderfully excited by the high quality ingredients, the creative preparations on the menu and blown away by the 'alchemy' of the chef's preparations. Truly magical..The downside is that a visit here may spoil you enjoyment at other restaurants in the future...a class act all its own!
Delicious food and wonderful service. Highly recommend
The owner just makes the experience amazing
He treats everyone amazingly
But he appreciates his loyal customers even more
The staff is amazing
And the food
It’s an experience
Been going there for 10 years
Will keep on going
Thank you Pietro
Great food, great atmosphere, great staff. We love Terrasole.
Decided to show the new beau my favorite spot in Ridgefield Monday evening. As always, we were greeted warmly by the owner’s dad, who seated us at a nice table on the patio next to a heater and providing us with blankets for extra warmth. Our server was attentive and helpful in making our dinner selection, opting for the zucchini blossom special and fresh oysters from their raw bar menu to start. For our meals, we had the dried aged NY strip steak, scarpiello style and Veal Milanese, both prepared a perfect med rare. We enjoyed great craft cocktails (spicy margarita and cucumber lemon basil) and a couple glasses of wine from the eclectic selection offered. As always, Terra Sole did not disappoint. Can be busy on the weekends, so going on a Monday evening, when it was a little bit more quiet was an added treat!
The perfect dining experience. Professional and very attentive staff. From the initial greeting to the final goodbye it was terrific. Creative cocktails and specials, nice raw bar selections and beautiful ambiance. BRAVO!
The food was truly outstanding.
I recently had the pleasure of dining out with friends at TerraSole. The food was top notch and service impressive. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was creative and fresh as I’ve found. I will return!
What a great early night out for my wife and myself! The food was top notch, both innovative and classic at the same time. Great wines by the glass are amply poured. If it wasn’t a school night we would’ve tried a bottle special. The professional management and service teams handle their jobs with pride. Can’t wait to return!
My husband and I enjoyed an amazing meal at this gem of a restaurant, located in a quaint alleyway off the main street in Ridgefield. We were both so pleasantly surprised at the inviting patio, which was decorated beautifully and created a very cozy ambience to dine. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and provided first class service. The food was amazing and so elegantly presented. We both started with the cream less lobster bisque, which was heaven. For dinner I enjoyed the Cavolfiori Pasta that was such a delicious dish and very creative being that the pasta was made from cauliflower. My husband enjoyed the halibut which was cooked to perfection and served with the most amazing Gorgonzola mashed potatoes and sautéed ramps. For dessert we shared a delicious fig goat cheese ice cream, which was divine and a perfect end to the meal. Overall I rate my experience with Terrasole Ristorante 5 stars. The food, service and ambience are immeasurable. The menu is inventive and unlike any I’ve seen in the area. We will defiantly be back.
The place is nicely decorated, and professionally run. The food is good and so is the wine. Brian is a first class waiter. I liked everything except one thing. For an upscale place the music sounded like it belonged in a biker bar. What are they thinking? People who dine in a place like this do not want to hear rap like noise. That was the only negative thing about our experience.
Most expensive restaurant in town but cheapened by bottled water choice of San Benedetto. Obvious preference would be S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna!
Chon: We deliberately choose San Benedetto, and its the same price as the other. For us, its what's served in the region in Italy we try to honor. But we understand its no everyone's favorite. In regards to our prices, they reflect the quality of our ingredients and organic products we use in each dish!
Food was terrible and very overpriced.
