Our party of 4 were guests from Melbourne celebrating a 70th birthday. We were staying in house at the Country Club so there was also the convenience of being able to relax and not have to concern ourselves about driving the car. The evening was certainly one that will be remembered in the positive.
Food was ok but very expensive. Wine was dreadful and no compensation given
Food was excellent. Average prices for an a la carte restaurant in Tasmania.
Wine a bit expensive
Great meal, we really enjoyed the dining experience.
Staffan again outstanding.
Unfortunately 2 items we incorrectly delivered - to the table .
Natural oysters instead of Kilpatrick
And the Broccali was forgotten.
Again this didn’t spoil the night .
Always a highlight .
Awesome meal and a lovely place to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so thank you.
Disappointing as allergic to nuts, and the salad came out with nuts on the top (no mention of salad having nuts anywhere). Also ordered a mojito cocktail which tastes nothing like it should be.
Excellent service, great food and friendly atmosphere
Food and service was nice in general however I found a peanut in my entre when 1/2 way through (confirmed by my partner) when I had notified I was allergic. Accidents happen, but I was questioned twice claiming it was something else like they didn't believe us. I wasn't expecting heaven an earth to be moved after I pointed it out however getting questioned twice and then just a shrug of the shoulders and saying sorry when we didn't agree left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. I did have a minor reaction to eating the food which the nut was mixed in prior to noticing but I am lucky that I need to eat the nut to have a serious reaction and found it. Someone else might not have been as lucky.
Valentine’s dinner with my partner. The food is always lovely with a great selection of local, National abs international wines. Staff are attentive but not over the top. Would highly recommend for a special dinner out.
A classy dining experience. Great food and ambience. Terrific service.
Our waiter was wonderful, the food was delicious! I am an extremely fussy steak eater, if my steak is not cooked right I will send it back to the kitchen but this was a perfect eye fillet and the perfect amount to ensure our meal was enjoyed without that feeling of over indulgence! We will certainly return on our next trip over the Strait!
This was our return visit after a previous meal here which was mediocre and pleased to say we enjoyed it much more so all good. Entrees of lamb ribs and gnocci was nice. My wife enjoyed the lamb rack for main although the meat was a little tough. My scotch fillet was cooked perfectly but the actual meat was very dry thankfully i had ordered a sauce with it.
Stephan was very friendly and professional - the meal was so scrumptious - also the little waitress Sharon was so friendly and able to answer any questions we had
will definately come back
I put down it was our wedding anniversary and nothing was done to make our night special. Food was okay lamb rack very fatty
Had eggs, bacon and hash brown. All appeared to be deep fryed. Even toast was too greasy. Couldn't eat it, very disappointing. Will not eat there again. Staff excellent.
This was a special dinner out for our 36th wedding anniversary and the Terrace did not disappoint. The staff, particularly Stefan, made sure we had a truly enjoyable time. The food was beautifully presented and so delicious - we would both order the same 3 courses again, without hesitation. The Terrace has a warm and comfortable ambiance. The staff welcome you with a professional and friendly persona from the time you walk in the door, though-out the evening until you decide you have to leave and head home.
Lovely entrees and my main (chicken breast) was also delicious. Unfortunately my husband’s steak was not up to the same standards. Good service. Not cheap, but that’s expected at a hotel.
Beautiful food with great service. Will definitely be going back again
My friend ordered the eggs with avocado and feta. She couldn't eat the avocado and feta as the fetta was not very nice. Could you review menu and have the avocado and feta served separately rather than together.
The quality of the food was excellent, despite the menu not really inspiring us. Other than the fish curry (fabulous), there was no fish dish. Whilst the wine list is amazing, the range and quality of wines by the glass was disappointing. More Tasmanian wines would be appreciated but the pricing of both wines and food was quite reasonable. The service and overall ambience was excellent, making this a most enjoyable dining experience. We will be back!
The Oysters Kilpatrick were delicious but the main course of Rack of Lamb was sensational. The favour was fabulous & the presentation superb. It was one of the best meals I have had in many years.
Slowest service ever. Over an hour wait for food. Drinks also slow. Feel sorry for the staff, not enough staff working ?
Plates left on table for too long, didn’t refill drinks in reasonable time ans food (chicken and squid) were very average.
Friendly service and delicious food.
Would come back again and recommend to others.
The food was magnificent, 4 of us all gave it 100%
I think there should be more selection of wines under $80
Beautiful food and great service. Not as fine dining as it once was but still a great meal.
Waited 25 mins for our coffees then another 45 for food which once it arrived my poached eggs where like rocks hard so had to send them back another 15 minutes passed my husband had finished his by the time mine came. Very disappointing
The lamb dish I had was horrible. 1piece of lamb in whole dish The rest was chorizo or kransky. Very disappointed
Dinner out with my partner. We had a lively evening, service was great, food fantastic and real value for money. Would highly recommend
Meal was part of a stay/ eat deal. Great value, ambiance, service and food.
This was our place where we liked to dine over a lot of years
sadly our meal was so bad we sent it back.
Good breakfast great service reasonable price easy access
Great meal fast service and friendly staff would recommend highly
Fantastic uncomplicated menu, everything was cooked to perfection. We went twice while we were staying at the Country Club and thoroughly recommend the Terrace.
We were really disappointed to find The Terrace is now a casual venue. Was not impressed with the attire of some guests, some in sloppy jeans & sand shoes & even wearing shorts. We attended for my wife's 75th birthday & wanted something special. Our last visit was amazing & that was why we returned.
The meal we had was absolutely superb and the atmosphere was quite intimate which is what we had hoped for. Our waitress was so attentive and seemed to have super powers as to when our water needed to be refilled. We had complimentary bread and sparkling water. It felt like we were being pampered. It was an overall lovely experience:-)
Great value, tasty diverse menu and very good friendly service.
table service was ok, some of the people at our table found their meal awful, told staff who said there wasnt anything they could do, no offers of anything else.
Was disappointed at the behaviour/dress of some others people dining, hoodies, track pants etc, didnt feel like we were fine dining, don't think the place had any standards
This was an extremely bad experience! The wait staff were amazing and stayed calm and professional in what could only be described as a very stressful environment for them. Our meal finally came out 1 1/4 hours after we ordered but was cold and my husbands pasta dish was the size of a very small entree. I gave him half my chicken breast. To compensate we were given our wine for free but truly, we would have preferred a better overall experience. Very very disappointing.
