Our festive dinner opens with a flurry of small plates to share: crispy winter herbs with a silky peanut butter parfait, butter bean spread under a tangle of chilli shallots and winter pickles with fluffy pitta for scooping, swiping and generally making a happy mess. Smoked aubergine turns silken under yoghurt feta, za’atar and confit garlic. Or there’s grilled celeriac with our homemade harissa and a bittersweet lick of marmalade: sweet, earthy and kissed by the flames. Then the centrepieces. Oyster mushrooms are slow-cooked until meaty and tender, then tumbled through noodles with a sticky soy glaze and a bright hit of citrus. Smoked beetroot borscht runs deep and dark with black garlic, crackers on the side for dunking. Poached winter greens meet fennel shortbread and grilled sprouts (yes, sprouts, and yes, you’ll want seconds), with a crisp pak choy and cucumber salad to keep everything lively. And to finish, three little festive moments: a Jerusalem artichoke chocolate bar, Madeira cake with Paddington Bear marmalade (he’d approve), and our rum and raisin festive bake.

Sophie made MasterChef history as the show's first-ever plant-based finalist, going all the way to the 2025 final. Her cooking is bold and joyful, with a soft spot for the sunny flavours of the Mediterranean. The menu brings her style and ours to one table. Spiced squash with butter bean, crispy sage and pumpkin seed. Charred leeks with silky tofu cream. Oyster and maitake mushroom skewers pressed onto a bed of whipped tahini, with za'atar and sharp pickles. And to finish, a warm, baked showstopper of a pudding, because November deserves something hot from the oven. A few more surprises are still being perfected in the kitchen, and we'll keep those under our hats until the night.

The evening was great, the food divine and the service impeccable. I'm only sad that I don't come more often! I'll make it next time in less than two years, I promise! For the meat eating naysayers - you will like it and you will leave full, especially if you order the tasting menu which you totally should!

The food was fabulous but one of our cocktails wasn't great. The service was a little slow to start and some of the staff didn't seem very familiar with the food and drinks. Overall, I still love Tendril and will be back again.

My experience is always outstanding This little restaurant is so amazing, is a little treasure in heart of London. Very high standard of ingredients, everything teste delicious and amount of food is just enough what you need that leave with such good sensation after. Staff always extremely nice and so welcoming, we are quite regular here and each time we have such brilliant experience

First time at Tendrils and we will definitely be back. Presentation 10/10 Flavours10/10 Creative choices 10/10 .All the servers were professional and helpful Seating maybe a little too close to next table in the window area. Also had to strain to hear ourselves as was very busy, unsurprisingly but the noise level was high. Would still return though as food was divine

ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT At this lovely restaurant, behind an unfussy street front facade off of Hanover Square, the chef must be an alchemist. The flavors wrought from the humble vegetable are pure epicurean magic. I’m not one for writing reviews, especially one with a shouty headline, but I’m moved to do so by the shockingly good meal. Everything about the experience was superb, from the chef, to the menu to the wonderful serving staff. Every mouthful a delight. I am a carnivore, but if food like this was readily and broadly available I’d happily and eagerly become a vegan. I will return. I live in America but I now have a new regular port of call for my London visits. Utterly sumptuous! I’m an unabashedly awestruck diner.
