Food and service is always great here
This was my second time -- post movie on a Tuesday night. The food was very fresh and well prepared! Our waitress was lovely and attentive. We'll definitely be returning!
Been there twice.........sunday much quieter than saturday nite
Food is good and both waitstaff people were super
The restaurant is in a great location across the street from the movie theater. The food is good, but not great.
Fresh grilled Halibut was fabulous!! Side order of grilled zucchini also
Ok - very loud. The lamb kebabs were overdone.
I have always loved Telly's in Astoria, but have friends in Westchester and have recently met them at Telly's Port Chester. We had the same fantastic service and delicious food. It is a really pretty and comfortable restaurant. I highly recommend Telly's for authentic Greek food, great service, and experience.
The wait staff is very kind, but it took too long to get our food. Bread is only served with olive oil which I do not care for. They do not have butter. Our meat and our eggplant were much too greasy. They gave us a complimentary dessert which was appreciated.
We went to Telly's before a show at the Capitol Theater. We had never been here before and were pleasantly surprised. The food was wonderful. Everything we ordered was so flavorful. I would highly recommend the grilled octopus appetizer. The prices were a little bit high, but it was well worth it.
We will be back!
Now I've been to Telly's 4 times in the last couple of months. Generally the food is very good. The restaurant is very, very pretty and they are very nice.
Started with a salad. It was over priced and lousy.
Then our main course’s arrived and both were over cooked and uneatable. We sent both back they cooked us new dishes which took an additional twenty minutes and both were average at best.
This was the second and last time I would go to this restaurant. The first time we went was opening night and is was also equally as bad. Telly’s Taverna is
overpriced and lousy.
Great addition to the Port Chester dining scene. High quality Greek food, served family style with large portions.
We sat at the bar. Great corner spot. The whole fish we got was over cooked and poorly de-boned. Fish was expensive for a mediocre piece of fish. Apps were great.
Lovely quality and service
This was perhaps our sixth visit to the restaurant. While the waitress was lovely the kitchen was way too slow. We sat for too long with nothing. We had to ask for bread (delicious). The food was not as unusual and generous as it has been in the past.
We’ve been here several times it’s always a young trendy vibe with good food and good service
This was my 3rd time dining at Telly’s. The restaurant is very pretty and the food and service is very good!
New place for Greek food in the Port Chester/Greenwich area
The food was delicious, the staff was warm and welcoming and their new Greek restaurant is a lovely addition to Portchester. Can't wait to go back!
Swordfish skewers we’re delicious. Did it love the lunch menu offerings. Nice atmosphere wait stafF was great too.
We have visited Telly’s in Astoria in the past and are happy that they opened closer to home. No tolls. No traffic. No problem.
Everything was delicious. Our server and the staff were helpful and polite. They checked on everything periodically but were not intrusive at all. Nobody rushed us and the different courses came hot from the kitchen (or cold for certain dishes) but only after the previous plates had been cleared.
Appetizers, main courses, desserts, and drinks were all good and I thought the prices very fair for the fresh seafood and wine, particularly.
The space is attractive and I look forward to visiting again soon.
This was my second time and regretfully it was not a good experience. The first time I met friends and sat at the bar and had very good service and the food was dramatically better. This time we sat in the restaurant section and were the only ones there. After we ordered and received our drinks another party came in and were seated right next to us. This was an older party of four and loud. I couldn’t understand since the restaurant was empty why this party was seated on top of us. We couldn’t have a conversation without raising our voices. After complaining about their decision to crowd us they offered to move us but at that point we declined.
The appetizers came and the grilled octopus was terrible and hard to chew. We returned it and were assured that the second order would be perfect. It wasn’t as bad as the first but still overdone. The Greek meatballs were dry and overcooked and there was no accompanying dip. I asked if we could have tzatziki sauce and they quickly brought it. It was later that I noticed they charged a dollar for the sauce.
Our entrees took a long time to arrive because they are made to order. They were good but when your dinner guest asks if we can just cancel the order and leave doesn’t make for a great experience.
I know Greek food and want this restaurant to succeed but they need to immediately focus on the kitchen and wait staff. I can forgive inexperience but first impressions matter. My dinner guest doesn’t want to return to the restaurant again, no matter how good the loukoumades are.
Our first time and it was very good ... I know Greek food and everything we had was very good. The outstanding part was dessert. The loukoumades and the Greek yogurt with grape preserves were the best I’ve ever had. The meat platter was good but a bit dry ... there should have been tzatziki sauce served with it. The appetizers were very good ... try the octopus and saganaki.
Food is excellent, fresh. Service is attentive. Crisp clean new atmosphere. The only down side is that the tables are too close. You can hear the conversations from both tables next to you.
This restaurant never fails to exceed our expectations.
I would recommend Telly’s with the caveat that it is a high priced restaurant .
Great place! Lovely food, lovely staff and a really pretty space.
I actually liked dinner so much I went for lunch the next day! It is such a pretty restaurant, the wait staff are lovely and the food was delicious. A group shared several dishes and they were all very good. I was so surprised that the chicken kebob (wouldn't have been my choice) was tender and very flavorful, not typical of this dish, especially with very large chunks of white meat chicken. The next day we ordered the lamb chops for $38. There were 3 very small chops and they were good but not great. I thought it was pricey for what they gave us. Other than that, I loved it. Thumbs up!
Delicious food. Peppers, halumi chees, zucchini croquettes were all great. And then the fish. Wow. Even the New Zealand Sauv Blanc was terrific.
Our waitress was terrific as well. I am a Manhattan foodie snob who has eaten at a lot of great Greek places such as Avra Madison but Telly's really stands out for me.
Wonderful atmosphere! Delicious food!
Very fresh fish. Excellent salads. Attentive service
The best true Greek restaurant in at least Eastern Westchester and Western Fairfield. Amazing food, great service. It's a welcome addition to Port Chester.
It used to be a pizza place and they did a great job changing the room. Great decor.
We ordered 3 bloody marys with Belvedere vodka. It already came in a small glass and it was filled with ice.
- Taramosalata: It was ok. came with pita bread.
- Saganaki: This didn't come out so when we asked to cancel the waitress said it's coming right up and it didn't for extra 10 mins. Basically, it took over 30 mins to get this app.
- Grilled Octopus: Will get this again. Nice size octopus.
- Fried vegetables (eggplant & zucchini chips) : Light and crisp.
Grilled lamb chops: Good
Grilled Shrimp: 6 pieces butterflied. Came right off the shell and was sweet & delicious!!
Sardines: came in 6 pieces. Delicious!!!
For dessert, I ordered greek coffee, Baklava and Loukoumades. Never got the coffee...... 2 items missing in 1 meal....
When we got the bill, we found out small bloody marys were $16 each. This is unacceptable...even though it was a premium vodka, you don't charge NYC price for a small glass filled with ICE.
Music was so inappropriate for a Sunday brunch time. They were playing loud club music which would've been ok for a Friday night.
Food was good but make sure you ask how much your drinks are....and make sure you get all your food :-)
Amazing!! Great food, great service, great date night!
Best spanakopita ever!!!!!
Lovely room and friendly service.
Long time fan of Telly's in Astoria.
Now same great fish and Greek menu in Port Chester.
Decor is sleek and Modern, very roomy.
Really large bar area.
Great Job Diana!
I have been a big fan of Telly's original location in Astoria for years, so I visited the new location in Port Chester with high hopes, but also knowing that it would be tough to live up to the original. Well, it certainly did live up. We had the Horiatiki Salad, Grilled Octopus and Swordfish Kebab, and all three were absolutely fabulous. (I personally think it's the best octopus of ANY restaurant I know). The decor was charming and the service was very friendly. I look forward to returning.
We have been eating at the original location in Astoria for some 25 years. The Port Chester version is every bit as good as the original and look forward to making a 2nd appearance very soon, this time for dinner. We were greeted by a familiar face and treated as always, as if we were family. Can't ask for better Greek food or hospitality.
very good service
Telly's Taverna is a delightful new addition to the restaurant scene in Port Chester. The interior is quite pleasant & cheerful with a nautical theme. The traditional Greek dishes we sampled were quite delicious. My Swordfish Kabob was wonderful … the fish was perfectly seasoned & cooked. I might consider, however, giving this restaurant 3 $$$ as opposed to 2 $$. I'll definitely be back.
