Tartine Bianco - Los Angeles
Food was fantastic but service was horrible. My friend and I got our wine right away but our husbands waited 20 minutes for cocktails. They had water to drink through appetizers. Service was very slow. 3 hours plus dinner and we had teens with us that had school the next day on a Sunday night which is why I made the resv early. Glad we did.
OUTRAGEOUS, they charge you $7 for three half slices of bread! The appetizers, hummus and ricotta cheese, do Not come with any bread or anything to spread it on! And the wine pour is not even close to 6oz!... at $14. The other entrees, tasted good, but not worth the drive to get to the location. Nothing outstanding, and too bread centric for the price.
The only thing worth going back for are the breads and pastries at the shop. I live in San Francisco and go to the original Tartine. The food there is tastier & reasonably priced.
Previous visits for lunch and dinner have been excellent.
Problem with service for brunch--coffee came a long time after meal was served, even after several waitstaff were reminded. I suspect we were forgotten somewhere.
Great food and service. Cocktails were especially good. Had a 3:45 pm reservation so the place was almost empty, not the most fun ambiance but meant we had attentive service. A bit pricey but tasty food and good for a special occasion.
Overall, a nice, pet friendly (patio) restaurant. The hostess (Sunday. Brunch) was very snobby and looked like she could care less, made us feel unwelcome. It left us with a negative first impression. Food-wise, we enjoyed the morning bun (5/5) coffee (3/5), little gem salad (3/5), egg sandwich (3/5), smoked salmon (4/5), and patty melt (4/5). Prices are a bit steep for what you get but the ambiance is relaxing and comfortable. Service is attentive and friendly. We will definitely return due to the pet friendly atmosphere and ample free (2 hrs validated) parking.
The eclectic ambiance combined with the casual servers create an experience that resembles visiting a "pressed off center" friend for a family style meal in an abandoned southern mansion. The food is sweet and savory. Every dish offered an unexpected burst of flavors that left you wondering, "how did they make this?" Living without ordering and consuming the cornbread is NOT advisable. One of LA's true gems.
Amazing food! Friendly service.
The chef Camden is so talented!!!
Everything was deeelicious😋
Menu was different from the one listed on this website. We went for the bone marrow and NY Strip steak to only be disappointed when our waitress said that the menu has been updated and no longer has these items.
Nice restaurant and sitting outside was great. The food and service were both good as well. Portions were on the smaller side for the prices
Food here is amazing with great tastes and cocktails. My only complaint is they should give more bread with the butter and dips.
My friends and I had a great time together at the restaurant. The food was amazing. The service was excellent. The restaurant is beautiful. Even their bathroom is well put together. Definitely a must go to restaurant especially on Sunday with Smorgasberg around the corner.
The food was delicious but the server had an attitude and the service was a big disappointment!!!
I’ve been several times and each experience is better than the last.
This place lived up to its reputation. We ate outdoors on Tuesday night around 6 and there were only a few customers dining at that time. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive. The flatbreads, breads and roasted chicken were divine. I look forward to our next dining adventure in the near future.
Loved everything about this place! Can't wait to go back to try everything else Tartine group has to offer in L.A.
Dog was at table next to us and kept begging for something. Dog’s owner was oblivious!
The people are very nice, but the wait times to get the order in is too long, and then the timing of the food service is frustrating. Plus they sort of pass you back and forth between several servers. Excellent food and beautiful location. They just need to get it together a bit. Hopefully will get there. It'a great place.
Felt so taken care of!
food has hit full stride here. everything i had was excellent and the dinela value was exceptional. also one of the few restaurants that acknowledged my bday with something extra (a loaf of our favorite bread to take home!)
Tartine Bianco was the perfect summer patio dinner! Food was delicious and beautifully presented.
The food is delicious; bread light and tasty, spreads unique and tasty, flatbreads to die for, and the entrees were equally delicious. This place is a gem and a must visit in LA.
Tartine Bianco is a MAJOR addition to the LA food scene - a must-visit venue for serious foodies. The fresh baked bread service is killer - the best bread in LA - along with the warm ricotta, which is heavenly. The chicken liver pate terrine on brioche (huge portion) is spectacular. The rotisserie chicken was amazing - they brine it in herbs for 12 hours, then cook it to near-perfection - crispy on the outside, absolutely delicious. The accompaniment (summer squash, cherry tomatoes, cilantro in buttermilk sauce) was not a winner for me - it made sense conceptually, but ultimately didn't work in terms of flavor profile. Finished off with the chocolate malt ice cream w/caramel, caramelized bananas - oh my god, this was beyond amazing - best ice cream I've tasted in ages. The service was terrific - my server Laura was wonderful, charming, attentive - she even brought me a surprise treat at the end which capped off the evening perfectly. This restaurant deserves a VERY long run - hope it stays around forever!
Tartine has incredible food for every pallet! It is a wonderful location to enjoy with friends.
I think this is a solid place for lunch if you happen to be strolling around the ROW area on a Saturday afternoon. We sat outside, so the noise level was on the quiet side. The menu was interesting - the two of us shared a really good Little Gem salad. Lovely dressing.
We split a Grilled Cheese sandwich, which was not exactly my fav - but I knew that it was not meant to be a normal Grilled Cheese - as it had squash in it. And too much butter on the bread for my taste. (can't believe I'm saying that).
And we tried the Avocado Smorrebord - It's like a small piece of fabulous bread, thinly sliced, & toasted The avocado on top was creamy, with a bit of heat, and pumpkin seeds. Enuf for a couple of bites each. Good stuff.
Waitress was wonderful.
Bread is delicious! Great spot to meet with friends and have a great meal.
Service was just alright.
Great! Excellent food and excellent service!
Great atmosphere and amazing staff. We ordered a bit of everything and shared. It was all amazing. Cocktails are so yummy and refreshing.
Wouldn’t go back
My husband and I went on a date for dineLA. As soon as we sat down we decided we were going to not do the prefix menu. Ben was an amazing server. He was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also helped us narrow down dishes we would enjoy without over doing it. The food was beyond tasty. I’m so in love with this restaurant.
We enjoyed the DineLA lunch menu! Nicole was an awesome server. I especially appreciated that someone took notice of our empty water bottle and replaced in time for us to refill our glasses!
There is a small indoor bar area, but the dining is outside on a cozy patio. The food was tasty and nicely presented. We all had something different, 3 main salads, fish and chips and hamburger. Everyone was pleased with their selection. The patio is also dog friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great ambiance food and service
A phenomenal culinary experience with amazing service, incredible cocktails, and the most amazing menu and food! Every bite made everyone at the table go “wow”.
We were there for dinner. Highly recommend the spring onion flatbread which had a nice hit of spice to it and the heirloom tomato ricotta tartine. The wines by the glass were good and love that you can get half pours so I could try a couple without getting toasted before the theater performance. My husband liked the craft beer available.
If nothing on the dessert menu grabs you, you can order from the pastry shop. We had the coconut cream pie. It was good and ample to share. Banana cream pie next time!
We also liked the prawns and something else but can’t remember what anymore. We didn’t love the eggplant dip with the bread. The breads were delicious of course but also different (you get 3 types). Will definitely be coming back!
The food was very good, especially the country bread and kefir butter. I recommend the fried chicken sandwich- it’s lighter than you would think and the elements combined well. The service is slow and not attentive but we were not in a hurry so I didn’t really care. Try the morning bun from the bakery it’s very good.
Service wasn’t great. Food was good but not outstanding.
