Joe Bastianich and Andy Nusser– the team behind Tarry Lodge in Port Chester and Michelin-starred Casa Mono– opened Tarry Lodge in Westport in the summer of 2011.

Tarry Lodge Enoteca Pizzeria features Nusser's signature hand-made pastas, exquisite fritti, and succulent meats cooked to order on our wood fired grill. The menu will have a distinct focus on local ingredients and we are taking full advantage of Westport's bustling farmer's market.

The centerpiece of the room is a Mugnaini pizza oven hand crafted by the famed Refratarri Valoriani, a family of artisans making pizza ovens since 1890. This fantastic oven will be surrounded by a dining counter, where guests can watch pizzaiolo Mario La Posta craft his world class pies.

A return after the six months of Covid was rewarding. Diner was a very good value, though the menu is smaller than it was before the virus. The food is still very good, however, although there was only one choice for dessert, Tiramisu, which they were out of. Really good service, and an excellent use of the outside for a comfortable tent. The indoor spacing was very generous and we felt secure in being there.

Excellent service and food.
Pizza is one of the best. I only have to say that the quality of the prousciutto is not the same as it used to be.
But we will definitely come back.

First time at the restaurant. Food very good as was the service. Looking forward to being able to eat inside one day. Eating outside was not so pleasant due to traffic noise & the weather turning colder.

What a treat this was! A friend & I went to Tarry Lodge for lunch & the entire experience was amazing. The staff were all so friendly & we had great service. We decided to share 2 different pizzas- margarita & a new menu addition, fig & ricotta. They were very different, but both excellent. Their pizza crust is delicious & very thin (just the way I like it). The fig/ricotta pizza was a culinary delight. It had some walnuts sprinkled on top, along with a touch of maple syrup. OMG- I am hooked!

First time at the Westport Tarrylodge restaurant for my husbands birthday dinner. Amazing pizza (goat cheese, pistachios and truffle honey) apps and pasta entrees were very good. Our host and waitress were exceptional! A really lovely night out

Love this place but hadn’t been due to C-19. No drop in food quality at all. Very quiet with spacing, nicely intimate. Fewer servers but didn’t have an undo wait for anything.

I don't think any review would do Tarrylodge justice, this is a establishment you just have to try. My favorite location was Port Chester that was our go to place for a great meal. Sadly enough Port Chester is closed for renovations.. we love this restaurant so much we ventured to the next closest location Westport, CT.
They do not fall short we have been there quite a few times before the pandemic and
every meal is exceptional NEVER have I been disappointed, the woodfire pizza's is a must the carbonara, is to die for. I have friends that drive from eastern Long island,NY for the black spaghetti with chorizo. My family and friends always compare other restaurants to the service and food at Tarrylodge, I can tell you many fall short on the bar they have raised. The hour drive t o get there is always worth it.
Stay tuned, we are going to try New Haven next :-)

Considering the circumstances, it was wonderful. Staff wore gloves and masks, the tables were sufficiently distant and as always the service and food were excellent. One comment - the rude women not wearing their masks while parading thru should be stopped and asked to use the mask - it’s about respect for others.

It would be unfair to comment on things like ambiance and noise level with the prevailing public health situation we have going on. However my son and I did dine here a few days ago and the food, as ever, was spectacular. I am going to order takeout from here going forward and hope that everyone else will do the same!

Tarry Lodge is fantastic. The staff is amazing- so kind and accommodating. The food is incredible. We love coming here! Mohammad is great. Mike is amazing. The manager, George, is one of the best people you will ever meet.

The octopus was overcooked and tasted like charcoal. The pizza was great and the chicken entree was also 6/10. Service was average as is was somewhat busy. It’s definitely a nice date spot and it was good to try once but i don’t see a reason to go back.

Warm welcome. Prompt wait staff, friendly, not rushed. Knowledgeable about menu. Each course of meal brought to table in reasonable time; no long waits between courses. Food was delicious. Fresh, and inspired. Special treat was to experience the Amarena cherries over soft chocolate ice cream, sprinkled with slivered almonds. Just the way Lidia Bastianich suggested to try them!!

Tarry Lodge is a must go to. We had the BEST short ribs we ever had. No fat, very tender and flavorful. The Brussel sprouts were excellent. The coffee was delicious and their butterscotch Carmel pudding was out of this world. We are very picky eaters and we were incredibly impressed. We will definitely go back. The service was excellent. The waiter was very knowledgeable and very attentive.

My husband and I live in Guilford CT and never hesitate to drive down to Westport to eat at this lovely restaurant. We normally sit at the Pizza Bar aaa we love to chat with the Pizza Chef. However as I was having lunch with 2 girlfriends whom I haven’t seen in a while we decided to sit at a table. The restaurant was pretty quiet but the atmosphere was still great. If you go then you must try one of their delicious pizzas - we often order one as an appetizer for the table. I’m my opinion you can’t go wrong eating here.

When you make a reservation, request a table that is far from the kitchen door. Our table was directly in front of the swinging kitchen door, and every time it opened, we were blinded by the bright light from inside the kitchen. This spot is also right where so many people are going in and out, chatting and snapping, it completely ruins the ambiance of the evening.

Not a good experience
When my steak was served, it was cold.
The waiter, a very nice guy, took it back to the kitchen.
When he returned it, instead of preparing a fresh steak correctly, the chef re-heated it. Sorry but this is the the kind of prep I expected from such a restaurant.

The manager of the restaurant, came to our table and was surly.
Westport has lots of great restaurants which want to win your business. This one is off our list.

Perhaps we caught them on an off night due to the snow storm but the food was just ok and despite our noting on the Open Table reservation that it was a special birthday and despite our reminder of the birthday when we arrived, it was completely ignored. We were too embarrassed to bring it up a 3rd time and ordered dessert which was pretty ordinary. Not sure we’ll return.

First time was a joy - food was excellent and service top notch. This was our second visit and a disappointment -- took a while before we were noticed. When we mentioned we were just about to leave, we assumed the service would get better but it didn't. We would expect slow service if it were busy but there were many empty tables so no excuse. Carbonara wasn't as good as the first time but the fish - branzino and salmon were excellent.

As always Tarry Lodge does not disappoint. Good quality food that is consistent, not super high end but always high quality ingredients. Love the hen of the wood mushrooms and Linguine alle Vongole ... fresh clams and great flavor with just the right amount of “heat”! I do wish they had a different cut for the steak selection, maybe a Florentine T-bone, because what they offer now is the only thing on the menu that disappoints — not in terms of flavor but toughness of meat. Wine selection is good and no better way to start then with their amazing brick oven pizzas which are perfect accompaniment to a great red!

We have been fans since Tarry opened. The consistency of the food fro number of years kept bringing us back. I have to admit - this past visit was a first as we found the food disappointing. My wife vegetables were cold and my pasta was bland at best. This from a restaurant that has always prided itself on bringing great flavor and finest presentation to a meal. We spoke the next day with others who have noticed the same. We'll try once more because even the best have bad night. However if our experience is the same we will move on.

The food was fantastic as always but the service was incredibly slow. We ordered the Bibb salad and got mixed greens without explanation (but then were told they were out of Bibb when we inquired.) As always the food was excellent, but disappointed in the experience.

We eat here often. Have always found the food to be fresh and delicious. Last Saturday night was a disappointment - very slow service and the food was ok to fairly good. I hope that it was because they were overly busy and it was the holiday season, but I will be cautious next time.

Very nice relaxing atmosphere, and staff were super attentive. Will definitely go back! All food was delicious: Caesar salad, pasta, flourless chocolate, and steak! Well done Tarry Lodge!
