Tarry Lodge Enoteca and Pizzeria - New Haven
Our servers and hostess were so wonderful! They made our celebration of a special occasion all the more happy and memorable. Our pizzas and salads were so incredibly delicious that we had none left to take home. This restaurant is very much worth a visit!!
Ate outside where there were more about eight tables on the sidewalk. It worked for us.
Server worked hard. In and out of the building.
Steak, bolognese and eggplant dishes were all very good. Salads are excellent.
Limited menu, but enough choice. Very good wine list.
Very good value.
Every dish was a home run. All the dishes had great flavor and presentation. Service was excellent.
The service was poor...not enough waitstaff. One waitress with 8 tables...water and drinks weren't refilled and the food was mediocre and bland. The meatball pizza arrived without meatballs.
Great spot to take a student to brunch in New Haven. Very close proximity to the residential colleges. And great bottomless bloody mary's!
Food and service was great!!
As good as it ever was!
The street is quiet apart from the odd motorcycle - can't be beat on a late summer evening.
Due to Covid and the stupid CT government's continued restrictions, despite low infections, the ambiance was not the usual. The staff did a marvelous job serving us and the food was excellent. All best wishes for economic recovery to TL. Mary
The food was great. first time trying the fungi pizza -very good!
It was very busy sat nite. Probably short help. Food was very good and so was the wine.
Able to reserve a spot outside and service was excellent- host to server to staff. Food delicious- partner was a little thrown by the arugula on the pie- Really, I could sit and just eat that focaccia and salad all night. 90 mins exactly right for 3 courses- thank you, Tarry Lodge for a lovely first dinner out since quarantine.
Bathrooms were dirty. Faucet in sink did not work. Inexcusable
Tarry Lodge is our “ go to” restaurant. We are never disappointed.
Everything was great; the food, the cocktails and especially the host and waiter!
The food is always top notch and service is attentive. From, pasta to pizza to fish and salads - delicious. The portions are plentiful. The only complaint from everyone in our party was about the music. Please change your playlist and turn it down. Something relaxing and not notable would be much better than the odd mix of pop.
Always a lovely experience. Great service, great food.
Great food and great staff. Followed the COVID restrictions while keeping a pleasant atmosphere.
Amount of invoice echo rita this for food that was only fair. Will not visit again.
The location is kinda tough for parking but it’s a great restaurant the food is amazing, and the service is right on par.
I have been to Tarry Lodge in New Haven at least a half dozen times. The food is consistently very good. The menu is simple as it is more noted for the pizza and wine than the entrees. Generally I prefer to have a pasta entrée when I visit here . New Haven is full of great pizzerias. So I and my guests had pasta dishes- Tagliatelle Bolognese for me and another friend and Linguine with clams by another friend. The white bean mixed greens salad is a satisfying starter. We also shared the grilled Octopus which was very flavorful and tender. Half price bottles of wine the evening we were there (Wednesday night) encouraged us to order a bottle. The wines by the bottle here are quite expensive- I would suggest ordering the house wines (ones offered by the glass or as a whole bottle).
As delicious as usual ! Never a bad meal. Food and service are always great
Didn’t remember that we were celebrating an anniversary. Most high-end restaurants do something special for customers (like offering a small toast etc.) on such occasions, so that was disappointing.
A little more pared down menu than the original Tarry Lodge in Port Chester. Has it’s own more urban atmosphere. Same delicious pizza and attentive service.
The carbonara was over the top and Our server was truly awesome!
We will be back! Thank you!
Tarry Lodge is a great place to bring your wife, friends or business associates. The food is always excellent, and the value for what you get is outstanding. The staff is attentive, courteous and helpful making you food choices. I have a hard time hearing, and I could talk and hear, even though the place was full when we were there. It is near the Yale Shops and a good place to catch lunch when shopping in the Yale area.
This was our third time back at Tarry Lodge in the past 6 months and the food is still consistent and super. Despite of my commitment to try something different this time, I had to order Eggplant Parmesan again. The new item we tried this time, Kale salad, was just divine. Kale salad, in general, is not my go-to but kale had the right amount of bitterness and crunch and dressing very light and not over-powering at all. I think it just might become my go-to when I visit Tarry Lodge in the future. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing.
Tarry Lodge will continue to be our favorite pre-concert dinner spot for some time to come.
Not worth the money , food ok ,desserts skimpy , to dark inside. Service ok. Host not to friendly
Excellent experience. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
Food was excellent! The sauce on the duck and mushroom risotto was delicious.
We always have a positive experience at Tarry Lodge in New Haven. My favorite is always Eggplant Parm. It never disappoints. Delicious!!! We went with another couple and we were able to talk and were able to stay as long as we wanted. Love Tarry Lodge
Normally great food and great service just weird seating this night. They did accommodate a seat switch . Just seemed like we were on top of other couples when there was a lot of open room even when we left
My wife ordered salmon and they brought branzino instead with our other two meals. Waited 10 minutes to get her salmon which was served like raw sushi.
Restaurant refuses to offer any discount because they accused my wife of eating some of the salmon. And she did eat enough of it to realize it was raw.
Was my favorite restaurant to go to when visiting new haven but no longer.
Great server. Very accomodating. The kitchen cooked my party the wrong pizza and she arranged to immediately replace it with the correct pizza.
We have eaten at several different Tarry Lodges over the years. The New Haven Lodge is convenient to Yale Repertory Theatre, and we were delighted to get an early table. Because of bad weather we arrived late, but we were graciously accommodated and our meals came promptly, so we had time to enjoy coffee and still walk over with plenty of time to spare. Our waiter was exceptional, advising us on dishes that would be ready relatively quickly and making sure they arrived promptly.
The kale Caesar salad was generous, very fresh and delicious. We shared salad and Butternut Squash Caponata, topped with luscious Buratta cheese—sweet and pungent, accompanied by perfectly grilled toast for the cheese. An unexpected and outstanding dish!
The pasta dishes were also terrific: Bolognese and black fettuccine with shrimp, fennel and chorizo. There was enough left to take home for another meal. We were well sated, and the excellent coffee finished the meal perfectly.
It was an altogether experience!
love this place for lunch dinner anytime food is outstanding
4th time there. Always good food, always good service.
Terrific food, exceptional service, and great ambiance. Recommend
I have been to Tarry Lodge many times . The past few times I have went the food has tasted bland . We had 6 in our group and no one was happy with their food . Service is outstanding . Ambience is great . I just don’t know what has happened to the great tasting dishes .
I met with my college roommate after 30 years. So it was a reunion occasion with a lot to catch up. The restaurant knew and arranged for a quiet corner for us. Our waitress gave us as much privacy as possible but made sure our meal progress at the same time as we were heading to a concert at Woolsy Hall after. We had salad and salmon. Everything was delicious. Thank you! We will be back!!
